Toilet Trouble Part Poo: the Postmortem
See the previous journal for what led to this:
The remedial work began after I left for work today, leaving other family members to observe the proceedings. I have just arrived home from work about an hour-and-a-half ago, and here's what I found:
--I expected the entirety of the bathroom ceiling to be pulled out, in actuality only a 2x4-foot section was removed. The basement removal was somewhat square-er, but about the same square footage. I now know the size of the floor joists holding up my train collection at the other end of the house :-D
--The fans: well, they're here, and they have to run for three days continuously to dry out the opened ceiling spaces. In my bathroom and the upstairs one are a Phoenix AirMax Air Mover. In the basement are the real heavy-duty pieces, two of the aforementioned Phoenix blowers, a Dri-Eaz LGR 7000 dehumidifier, and a Dri-Eaz HEPA 500 air scrubber.
They're loud, but I don't think I'm going to have any trouble sleeping tonight. Just by closing the bedroom door, the din is reduced to the level of white noise, so that's one less thing to worry about. Still have to replace the trap plug in the kitchen sink so it can be used again, but there is a long weekend coming up, a couple of hardware stores near where I work if my dad doesn't find the one he believes he has stowed somewhere. (edit 2/14: bought one. It was $2)
On a lighter note, I have a four day weekend coming up--Sat/Sun, President's Day, and a day off Tuesday due to my being assigned to work the corresponding Saturday. I'm still considering streaming some art projects I'm catching up on, and can entertain the possibility of sketch commissions since I seem to be able to draw digitally. For brevity's sake, I think these will be no more sophisticated than single-character pinups, inked or flatshaded, with a bias toward characters I've drawn before (but that's not set in concrete). I might even figure out putting in a video window up in the corner or somehing.

On another note, be glad you're not these guys https://youtu.be/OP30okjpCko
Incidentally, I had a nightmare after reading your post that my roof had sprung a leak and flooded my room back in Philly. Where do I submit a claim for dream damage?
