Pineapple on pizza, the greatest sin against pizza

Tomatoes are already a fruit. If people want so much fruit, they should just go eat a fruit, not a pizza.

It's a "don't knock it 'til you've tried it" thing for me. I haven't tried it so I can't say but people want pineapple on their pizza, I'm not gonna turn into some Christian nut and say what toppings SHOULD be on a pizza.

I dont mind it! When I make it at home I tend ti grill the pineapple for extra flavour.

so i guess it's good if you're lost and beyond saving~

It depends on the quality of pizza and pineapple. I've had 'Hawaiian' style pizza that was fantastic and flavorful, and I've also had it where the sauce was sweet, the pineapple was too sweet and the ham had no flavor so it tasted like sweet cardboard.

If you're having pizza with pineapple, the sauce needs to be tangy and slightly acidic to counteract the sweetness of the pineapple.

Pineapples are one of my favorite foods in general, so I love it on my pizza. It makes pizza more tolerable lmao.

I actually used to order pineapple on pizza like every weekend with my one friend. Did you know one pineapple used to cost thousands of dollars in America because it was so rare? I remember hearing about one wealthy person made a pineapple themed building to show off his wealth.

Ahaha was it ? I’ve always thought it can be imported from hawaii and that’s where pineapple pizzas come from, although i guess hawaii is still pretty far away so theres that. And Wonder what happened to the pineapple person now x3

We have a pizza place called american pizza today and there is one pizza they call tropical hot which have mince, pinapples, cheese and some sort of spice mix which is super delish.:D

There was a time long long ago, so long I can't even remember the place I think it was at the lobby restaurant of a 3 star hotel, there was a small section where you can sort of 'make your own pizza' ? The bases were quite small probably the size of both my 8 year old hands, but you can pick from a selection of stuff to put on top of it before reaching the end where there's a small open oven for you to bake the pizza. They had curry chicken cubes, minced spinach, baby sausage slices, shredded fish, an assortment of salad-ie stuff like bell peppers and olive and mushroom, and I think a few types of sauces. There was no cheese though as I think that could get messy. So being the greedy little bugger that I was I took a scoop full from each and piled it high on that tiny pizza pancake and precariously tried to place it in the oven. It fell everywhere. That was the best pizza I ever had.

I like the mix of sweet and savoury, but I wouldn't exclusively have pineapple pizzas. More that, since i only get pizza with friends, we'll get a few pizzas and one of them can be pineapple. (and as much as people moan, it usually get eaten pretty quick!)

Definitely yay! I mean it's not my favourite but every now and then I *really* want a pizza with ham and pineapple. Never understood why some people seem to make such a big deal out of it. It might not be part of "traditional" italian pizza but who cares...

ohman, i've tried "traditional" italian pizza and it's so different from modern italian pizza it's crazy how it evolved ! the base and crust is flat and hard, almost literally cardboard, and the tomato sauce which is akin to like pasta sauce is scooped and spread around the base and the whole thing is topped with sprinkles of herbs and mushroom slices. that's it ! no cheese or anything. it's quite nice for what it is, very simple and pleasant

Yeah there's a lot more different styles of pizza available nowadays. Being close to Italy, most pizzerias here make it similar to Italian style dough-wise but with tons of different toppings. I usually prefer a thinner, crispier base so Italian is fine for me ^^. Though it would be a strange day if I ever refused any pizza XD

I've never tried cooked pineapple ! I'm not sure if the flavour changes or anything I tend to just have it with a bit of salt or jeruk ~

Pineapple on pizza is DELICIOUS and it pisses me off cause loving it lost me a bet in college. 10+ years ago.
Roomie would get it all the time and id gag and mock her for her terrible taste.
She got tired of my smack talk and we made a bet, I took a bite, and ive ordered it on every pizza ever since.

It's great~ I don't quite remember why, but I first had it when I was a kid on Hawaiian pizza. Something about the ham and marinara with the sweet tart of pineapple. Ah, perfect. ♥

heh, i think everyone's first exposure to pineapple pizza would be the hawaiian pizza, and ironically it is canadian made x3
