Roadmap for artist... progression, as it were
6 years ago
So, if you know me from FA only, you probably don't know much of what I've been doing away from this site; mostly on discord. I've becoming... rather exceedingly popular. So much so I've been without commissions in queue maybe once or twice in the past six months. It's been making me a lot of money, and yes, you're probably asking where all these commissions are?
Simple- I forget. All my business is on discord, at the moment. I usually post things there in a handful of servers and to the commissioner. It's often too, with usually a few commission during each week.
Although, this usually is because I'm, again, only got business on discord and I only devote an hour or two to my work each night, if that. So, if I was to expand, give more people a way to commission... I've been told I can turn artist into a full time thing. If I can, that would be wonderful as I've been hunting for work, unsuccessfully, for months. So... I'm going to aim for this as there is a surprising amount of demand. And here's how.
1. Finish all currently paid commissions. Right now it's only one so this step should be done in a day or two.
2.Work on some graphics for things. New, updated icons, various streaming graphics, you know, the whole lot. It's gonna take awhile but I want to make sure I'm recognizable and have everything I can customized. Including a goddamn new watermark/ The current one still has a fox tail!
3. Start setting up other ways to network. Currently, I'm only on discord, but I will probably set up several accounts on several sites; including twitter, telegram, and maybe even a patreon. The last would include some figuring out, and would probably be later. Maybe even a tip jar site thing like some artists have.
4. Expand my commission sheet. I do a lot of things, and have a lot of options. For example, I'm totally open to the idea of writing commissions. Fursuit commissions down the road too (Fun fact, I'm making those). I'm also developing a lineless style too that while unique and different, takes forever to do, and thus would be more expensive. Maybe even figure out some prices for my good old pixel art. There's a lot of things to expand too, so much so that a single image isnt enough. If someone has an idea how to organize it, do tell!
5. Set up schedules. Spend a good five, maybe six hours each day drawing and working on comms, streaming schedules too. And then from there, maybe we can get some activity going.
Watch this space, friends. We're going in for the long run.
