Hard to believe it's been seven months since one of my two bearded dragons (Dar) died. Her sister, Skye seemed healthy and continued the vigil of hanging out in their enclosure doing lizard things.

This week Skye wasn't doing so well - she had become impacted. Warm water soaking and patient massaging cleared that up for the most part but there must have been more wrong. This morning I found her in her final spot.

She lived to be 12. As I wrote for Dar, that's well beyond the "average" for fancy coloured dragons.

My household is reduced in number again, but reduced in beauty by a greater margin -- Skye was the orange dragon. Together with Dar (yellow) they were a pretty little citrus display of scales.

Sleep well, Skye. Go sit on Dar's back to steal the sun.
