Shingeki no watashi?

Today I catched up with the second and third season of Attack on Titan. Couldn't help but weep a couple times. Many of the situations depicted there hit close, very close home. Hunger. Poverty. Corruption. An establishment working to benefit a foreign plutocracy*. Unfair deaths. Betrayal. Despair. The assasination of an innocent and underage girl. Cruelty. The mixture of rage and sorrow that comes with being regarded as subhuman scum. The mixture of frustration and fear that comes when facing something hundreds of times bigger than yourself.
What for many is just a work of fiction, to me is a mirror of my miserable life scattered here and there through the 56 episodes, with the difference that I do not possess just yet the means to slay my own titans.
And the part that is most humilliating is that the Eldians are considered the evil guys by the Marleyians, even when the Marleians live in luxury at Eldia's expense (as well as at the expense of all of the other nations they have invaded), so not only the eldians are victims but also marleians have modified books and speeches to have everyone believe that it is fair. Basically Marley= USA/Israel and Eldia= Latin America/the whole middle east
But just as Armin points out in the episode 6, his life was already a living hell way before the titans attacked. In the oppresed countries, even without america's sickening imperialism impoverishing this place, even without their oppresive regime, even without those titans, it is already a living hell caused by people themselves. The strong will always prey on the weak. Even if you are rich and live in a rich place, the people around you can still deal you immense pain and suffering if it suits their respective greedy purposes. Life is hell. But it is exponentially worse in the base of the pyramid. Fortunately this is a hell that will end for me before I hit the mid of this year.
*Basically the goverment of Eldia is absolutely willing to fuck their own population in order to benefit the imperialist scum of Marley whose leaders, surprise surprise, once were Eldians. Some governments in Latin America, particularly those of Chile, Argentina and Mexico, have worked for decades in order to make America more wealthy in detriment of their own populations that have been subjected not only to poverty but also to mass extermination either by official military interventions or by CIA-sponsored militias. The high king Karl Fritz and his family are convinced that their people should perish in order to favor Marley, his Vow, while not exactly equal, resembles much the Monroe Doctrine and the Manifest Destiny. And just the same way that Marleians consider eldians to be second-class citizens, americans firmly believe that latin americans are second class humans. Imperialist behaviors and patterns remain the same regardless of centuries...
