[Spoilers] Stranger Things 3

General
Just finished Stranger Things 3, and it was amazing.
Well, mostly. There were some things which irked me to no end.
How were there no bystanders for half the events this season? Somebody gets shot at a carnival, there's battles in the middle of a carnival ride with men storming into it, giant monsters stomping down the streets, storming around the mall, giant mutated blobs being thrown out of hospitals... and there's never anyone around to notice. Ever. Every time something happens there's just magically nobody around to witness it. Seems a little too convenient there'd never be one person to see it and react.
Also, how the hell was there a Russian base under the mall? I get the premise. The mall was built as a guise to tap into the power grid to be less conspicuous and provide cover for their shipments. And yet, the base seemed like it was buried half a mile underground and with tunnels which spanned incredible distances (as noted by Dustin). How'd they even know to build there of all places? The gate would have been so far underground it seems unlikely they'd have known it was even there in the first place. It doesn't appear to have been the gate from Season 2 as it wasn't connected to the old research facility, or was it? Did I miss something in regards to the gate?

FA+

Also not gonna lie, I sang along with dustin for the never ending story theme song. I loooove that movie and that song.
But no I agree the Bystander one kind of irked me too because like the Funhpuse you're going to tell me anyone is going to belive someone in a Hawaiian shirt is trying to be the police. Come on...
As for the gate, i mean they kinda did a Yada Yada moment with Murray and Alexei saying that there are gates all over the world but the ones in Hawkins seem the most active. I know they were referring to the one that Eleven closed but i was kind of like "uhh...but she closed it." The only real thing I can justify there being a second gate in Hawkins would be thst the Mindflayer that left Will at the end of Season 2 left a crack under the area where the mall would be and the Russians exploited it
As for the hospital scene...I am legit like Speechless because it also does imply EVERYONE who was infected is techicnally dead...right? This is...thats like at least 50+ people entire families...
To add to that: when the US military arrives in the end of the season they show all the troops flooding into the Soviet base and storming it. However, all the Soviets are gone. There's not a single confrontation between the two. Yet that base was crawling with troops earlier. Where'd they all go? How'd they all get out in time? The device turned a few of them into goo, but not everyone. Surely th ere'd be some resistance.
Don't get me wrong, I know they wanted spectacle. But you gotta make it just a little bit believable. So many things in this season felt that way, including all the stuff you mentioned.
Oh, another one - the hospital! The local hospital got completely trashed, all the patients and personal (except the receptionist) went missing, leaving trails of bloody goo in their wake... and nobody noticed that either?? The tragedy at the mall made the news, but not the massacre at the hospital? HOW?
Also was a little disappointed that the science teacher was only involved in the one episode, would have been more interesting if he got more involved.
I will admit that it's awfully convenient that not a single person saw the obviously armed russian guy that is casually walking through the croud with his gun out, as well as when someone began to bleed from a gunshot wound and someone else shouted in panic due to that. I mean... Come on. Not a single person saw that?
The russians were also awfully lucky to have found a Demogorgon in the upside down that wasn't controlled by the Mind Flayer. Otherwise it would have also died the moment the gate closed again. The only one other demogorgon that was not controlled by the Mind Flayer was Dart, who was not touched by it due to the fact that he never even got to be in the upside down. He was born and raised in the human world, and as such he was in no contact with the Mind Flayer or the hivemind whatsoever. Speaking of which... Where the heck is Dart? I'm guessing he's gonna make a comeback in Season 4, but you never know.
And, holy COW the product placement was bananas. Sandler level.
Those are my only nitpicks, I enjoyed the ride and spent the last 45 minutes wondering which actor was eager to go start their post-Things career and thus "not make it". In retrospect, it should have been obvious, but I fell hook line and sinker for the helpless Eleven red herring.
Steve is the best character. Give him a spin off where he works in the video store and talks about era movies with a disaffected clerk at the convenience store next door.
This did annoy me slightly, but I felt it was done better than some other shows. It was clearly obvious Coke, Burger King, and 7-Eleven was a sponsor of the show, but I felt like they blended into the story well.
Season 1: Everyone likes Barb: DEATH!
Season 2: Everyone likes Bob: DEATH!
Season 3: Everyone likes Alexie: DEATH!
At least we got to keep Robin. I really like her!
Tho how could no one not notice construction of a underground project like that.
Also I think I know who the American was in the Russian cell in the end.
I know why but still, jus sayin
Overall Stranger Things is less like the goonies in a unique interpretation but more like The Super 8 movie.
