Based on journals from other artists I follow, the drop in sales is general across the board. It's not you, it's about everyone. I could go on a political rant about how we're getting screwed up by big companies, lobbies and government, but the fact remains that the average citizen has seen their situation worsen in the past decades. Less and less money coming in, more and more to pay just for living, there's only so much we can take until luxuries like art have to be sacrificed.

Can't say for user to user interactions, I guess at least some of it moved elsewhere since FA is quite bad for that, with it's insane comment system and such. I guess now you get more interactions on twitter or discord or telegram and such.

I would attribute the decreased user activity to artists having multiple places where they share their artwork. Why favorite/comment on a picture on FA if I already did that on their twitter post and vice versa? That becomes even more true when people prioritize one site over another. Of course the per-site view count is going to dip if people share their work on 4 different sites at different times!

(Personally I'm still a fan of FA/DA because they're sites with an actual gallery people can easily browse, over tumblr/twitter/whatever social media site with disastrous user interface and user experience)

^ This. At least if I am not on FA for a day or two the art is still waiting for me. On Twitter it gets lost down the timeline.
