Hey all, thought I'd put together the first update I've given in a while. My year hasn't really slowed down much. I've been doing a lot of trips to Duke still, been sick a little more than usual this year. Some time in the Spring it was like my brain did an all systems shut down and left me unable to create anything at all just about. I'd sit down and try every day but, it would be like pulling teeth.
I had no energy physically, mentally, creatively and yeah my summer wasn't the most productive. However I did get some really nice commissions done despite that and squeezed something in here and there but, mostly I found myself avoiding my computer, avoiding the internet and just taking time to recoup and play PokémonGo at the park.
There were several weeks where that app was the reason I got out of bed. I'm thinking once my insurance has finally switched properly I might look into talking with a councilor to try and see what I might could do to address some of the possible causes. I feel like things with my mental health have been getting a little out of hand at times and it might help to see what I might can do to make myself less all over the place and able to potentially focus more. I have a lot of goals and being able to become more consistent despite my challenges is one of those.
Now that fall is beginning I have been doing better creatively. I'm starting to draw and write more again and be excited about it. Ink in particular has been something I've had a ton of fun with. Quite a bit when I can't will myself to draw I'll just pull up an old sketch and ink it. It feels so good to be creating again even if it's just little things right now. Unfortunately with fall so comes my allergies and they have been kicking my but since August 30th. I was having to use my inhaler 6 times a day every day however yesterday I finally got a appointment with my allergist and now I'm on a daily inhaler. So far I'm showing improvement but, only time will tell on how well it works.
As far as my leg goes... I went in to get some tendonitis looked at in my foot and found out my EMG came back good so the current theory is what's causing the foot drop and everything is in my back.(Which isn't all that shocking) There's chance I will regain full use of my foot and leg. It will take a lot of work and between the chiropractor and PT I'm going to be working hard for a while. If through those alone I'm still dealing with the foot drop and other issues we'll move onto figuring out the back situation. So things are pretty optimistic right now.
I am also open for smaller commissions right now, sketches, fursuit drawovers, badges, ink drawings, colored sketches. With Inktober coming up I'd love to do some inspired by the theme so feel free to hit me up.
