The killer rabbit of Zeon is let loose on the battlefield...

The other day I got a surprise when PSN had a free downloadable game called Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2. That just rolls off the tongue, don't it?
Hell yeah, a game less speedy and hacky slashy like the Warriors and Breaker games and not a strategy game! And units from the One Year War up to Operation Stardust. And just between grunts an no god damned Newtypes? Although I wonder about that what with me already unlocking Blue Destiny 1 and 3 already and their EXAM systems.
While I am a bit disappointed I can't choose between Zeon and Federation and instead just a trooper in a private military unit that fights on random battlefields, I don't mind. Though seeing Gundams fighting alongside Zakus against other Gundams and Doms does kinda kill the mood some. No named ace pilots so No Zaku Boy scenes. Don't even see White Base anywhere when I was playing. Saw 3 Gundams at once though, that was a very one sided fight.
Luckily the game gave me 10 free units and I unlocked lots of premium currency for their gacha system after beating the surprisingly hard tutorial. Trying to last 2 minutes in space with a Dra-C after killing two enemy units was stresful. Lost over 10 times but it was worth it. Got lots of currency and 3 levels of Trainer GMs. But screw that I wanna fight some Gundams with the brand new Gouf Custom and it's big ass gatling.
Turns out it's cost was too high. Apparently certain modes limit what you can bring in. Can't have everyone with Gundams I guess. Sadly the only unit I had in that range was a basic Zaku 1 and I kept getting shot down. Did eventually found matches that had no restrictions and got to use my higher level units, and got ripped to pieces almost instantly. Turns out there's ranks involved. I'm D- since I just started. I was up against A- pilots, all Japanese who had this game longer.
So after lots of trial and error and learning about having to spend my hard earned currency to get parts and weapons to buff my units I finally started to fight matches in earnest...and lost 20 matches in a row! Granted I managed to take down several other units and points I couldn't figure out why we kept losing. And then I remembered the Triangle during the tutorial.
Mobile suits are one of three classes. Raid, General, Support. Raiders are fast melee focused attackers like the close range Gouf and their big assed Heat Blades. Fast and mobile but easy pickings against General units. Mid ranged units like the GM and Zaku with their pew pew guns and basic swords. Generals are the prey of Support units such as Sniper and Cannon units which hit hard but are slow moving making them easy targets for Raid units that get in and cut them to ribbons.
So after spending a good amount of time trying to remember which unit has advantages over what and realizing that info shows up when you attack them in game I finally got my first win.
Turns out being a lone pilot you can do quite alot of damage outside the suit and are key to captures and bombing bases.
Space battles are a whole different beast. Killed more pilots than I did suits.
Okay I cheated a bit and decided to use a Gundam in a no restriction match. Best round I ever did. 6 kills and no deaths.
Overall, I quite like it and though it's a freemium game I am going to give in and buy the starter pack at least. Won't give me a big edge against the Japanese players but I get another Gundam to use and some credits for weapons and parts. Pissed me off that I got weapons for units I don't have though...but I'll get them in the gacha eventually.
Once I level up enough I plan on starting my own clan. I'll update ya'll on that in the future. The killer rabbit of Zeon is let loose on the battlefield once more. ^_^
Edit: Made an alt using my Jap account, accidentally made a male char and dunno how to change it...
Had fun playing as a GM with their punt pew pew laser gun, that is sadly more powerful than my Zaku machineguns.

I've been playing it for a while myself. It's a fun yet frustrating game. The selections get better as you rank up. Pixie is a mean stealth suit and melees quite fiercely. Check the skills of the suits too. Those can affect how best to use each suit. Gouf Custom is a support hunter and suppressor suit with that gattling. It does well following up an ally's stunning or toppling attack to add on more damage. Full Armor Gundam is meant to stay mostly mobile while taking shots ad they present themselves. Targetting the legs is smart too as damaging them can impact boosting and overall mobility.
