Change Log - 8.1

Copy pasted from the Change Log file.
Open Beta went extremely well. Patreon is up and running, I have a small cash flow helping fund the game slightly. Things look good. However, I don’t feel good about the speed of the game, and eagerly wanted to change it to make it even faster. So unfortunately, I have to look at the game and take out everything that was slowing the game down. I’m happy to say I’m at that point where I can safely say that the game takes between 60-90 minutes for an experienced group, and that’s more than good enough for me.
Due to the nature of this change, Guest and Accessory changes will not be listed.
Core Changes
- Room has been Removed from the game.
- Actions “Invite”, “Lure”, “Relax” have been Removed from the game.
- All Basic and Apex Action cards have been Removed from the game.
In the need to Streamline, reducing the total number of actions in the game became imperative. The original idea of the room was for defensive purposes, but due to the nature of the game, it slows down gameplay overall, and leaves a very passive playstyle to dominate more frequently. Because of this, playtime always went over 1 ½ hours each session, leading for gameplay that extended to the point of relative boredom. With the removal of all these mechanics, gameplay has been greatly sped up.
- Players now draw cards from the Draw Pile into their hands.
- Event Deck has been added.
- Tokens have been renamed: Action Points -> Combo Tokens, Gluttony Coin -> Gluttony Token
I’ve also made the decision to remove the standard hand of actions to just drawing and playing cards into the Lobby like an older version. I feel this is the best option, and due to the removal of Apex Actions, allows enough variation in decisions to make each turn impactful.
- Combo Tokens have been changed on how they work.
- Kick Out has been changed on how they work.
- Accessories now have a new icon: Lobby.
- Accessories now have a new slot: Active Accessory.
Accessories have also received an overhaul. Now, if an Accessory has the Lobby Icon, they may be Activated to provide a game-wide buff. Accessories in the Active Accessory slot can be removed by another Active Accessory, or with a Kick Out.
Apex
- All Apex have lost their Apex Action.
Due to the incredible changes of 8.1, all Apex have lost their Apex Action. To balance this, all Apex have had their passive changed largely to take advantage of the new systems.
