So sad
So we commissioned one of our favourite artists to redraw our engagement photo. we have worked with her before, so we knew it was a good bet to drop $110 usd on her. the paypal fee took $6 of it, so we actually tipped her the extra $6 cause we trusted her. It is gorgeous, the background, the poses, just beautiful.
but, my red panda nose looks not quite right. a little off. so i asked her if she was willing to change it slightly. not the whole picture, not the pose, just my nose.
she said no, and blocked me.
all the money we spent.... the good faith we had in her.... and all i see when i look at it is my nose....
This is a once in a lifetime commission of our actual engagement and now every time i see that photo she redrew, all i can think of is how rude she was about it.
so so so sad :(
But that kinda attitude from the artist will dry up the well really fast, and they'll start asking why no one wants their commissions a bit too late.
She may be young (not sure, havnt hunted down her age), regardless its not a professinal responce by any means. If i had any advice for her it would be that she needs at least 2 more stages of approval, from what i could see.
If i had any commentary on the reverese side of anything i wasnt sure what you were asking for, 'Big Honker' is likely where things break down, i looked at your eddited version and i wouldnt have been able to tell what you wanted, seeing as you moved the mouth up a shade and tweaked the eye a little. its posible she believed you were refereing to the stylistic choice of drawing a 3-4ths nose on a profile shot. rather than the relation to the featured on the face itself.
Ultimatly ide take your side in this situation in saying the artist should provide another intermitent apporval point, ie linearts, flats ect. but i would also condemn any further witch hunt or shaming, they have lost a patron, that seems payment enough to me.
In the end you can either take it or you cant my man.
Lets be frank now my new friend, Unfortunatly sarcasm has failed and we have resorted to pointing out spelling. Truly the lowest of fruit.
As for how i keep my head on my shoulders, it all comes down to a strong neck and most impotantly Thick skin. Perhaps yours has withered in your old age.
