not important just getting it out
I figure it's fine to say it here since the person doesn't really use FA anymore.
It isn't even bad, it just feels awkward and stupid.
The friend (who is a woman) mentioned while we were at a convention that she missed having a collar. I asked why she doesn't get one, and she said she doesn't want to buy one for herself.
So, being the kind of person I am, my brain is like "Okay, next time I have money, maybe I can get her one!"
However, we're both furries, and I know full well what getting a collar for someone in this fandom actually means. I know that my entire motive for getting her a collar is "friend lacks collar and won't buy one, I buy" but we're not that kind of close if her reason for not buying one is that.
But on the other side of this, I don't know if there's a certain kind of collar she'd want? And I don't really want to have that conversation. If I'm wrong about her logic, then it's awkward. If I'm right about her logic, then it's awkward. There's no real reason for me to know what kind of collar she'd want if I'm not supposed to be getting her one?
And my brain just decided to latch onto this this evening. I don't even know how I'd get her one, or how to get it to her. I don't want to be like "Surprise! I got you one because you said you didn't want to buy one" and then she has to burn it because of how awkward it was.
Boy would this be a rough way to find out she uses FA again, but like I said, it's nothing bad, it just feels too stupid to actually talk to her about.

I wonder if a bracelet would be less awkward?
FA+

I wish ya well with the endeavor though, and i think it is a really sweet thing to get someone something :3
(unsure what the furry implication for it is, but i just find it sweet :3)
