I too hated the way SL takes a picture.

But I found a great, and free, way to take all the pics I want- and have them come out perfect.

There is a fee app called Greenshot. It works inside SL and takes a picture of the screen. You simply draw a box around what you want to take and that's it.

Greenshot even has basic photo editing software built in.

Trust me when I say we all get there. Just gotta do your best and then do it all over again time and time again. Improvement is just iterative.

When I'm not happy with an avatar I just browse the marketplace for inspiration. We're lucky to have such a catalog of purchasable stuff made by so many artists to draw and compile our avatars from. Pick a style and just go deep browsing!
