I've been watching The Magicians and reached the episode where Hale Appleman's character Elliot becomes a character in a drug trip and he sings a really excellent version of this old 80's classic. Give it a listen and see if you agree it's an improvement in ways. You might notice the volume does odd things, that's cause they removed the female character's dialog.
