This is a really fun challenge! I kinda started trying to comment more recently after I received a few comments myself, which made me realize how awesome it feels to receive a thoughtful comment. The one thing is when you leave an interesting comment but don't get a response, that's always a bit disappointing! Like I can understand if you just respond with one word or two, but if you leave some question and it goes unanswered it's not the best feeling. Though I do understand that sometimes there's too many comments to respond to all of them, but still!

Speaking from the artist side: the thing is - usually people leave one or two-word comments like "lovely butt" or "nice tits" or just "love this" and so, and you literally have no idea of how do you respond to that. As for me, copy-pasting "thanks" is not an option, so I just ignore them. However, it's always nice to say something to an interesting comment.

Also, being an artist for life is a little mess, where you have to keep in mind lots of things, including queue, ideas, conversation etc, so sometimes you just forget to do something or to talk to somebody. Usually it's not about artist being rude or inpolite - it's about him being focused on something more important atm. Please forgive us for that! We still love all of you.

Yeah, like I said I totally get that! Like, sometimes I'll post some art of my oc and get a comment like you said which is just "nice butt" or something, and yeah I'll generally say thanks because I don't know what else. It's really with the thoughtful comment that it hurts a bit!

But I do believe you when you say artists don't necessarily want to be impolite and stuff, I figure it's hard to be angry at someone giving you compliments and stuff! And it's much more time-consuming for an artist to go through every comment they might get than for a random person to leave just one comment too. Overall, it feels very rewarding when an artist acknowledges a nice comment :3

Sometimes I just feel like my space is above the line, and what is below belongs to the people who visit. I don't want to be pushy or intrude where I don't belong.

Always trying to be more thoughtful with comments on art that i like.

May not always be immediately, but i do make the effort.

Favs aren't that worthy, because it takes just a second to make one. Thus every artist is waiting for the new comments :)

I myself may not be a big artist, but with the art i do draw myself, i always do wish for atleast one comment.
