Coronavirus

This is just.....surreal. I remember months ago thinking nah it'll never come to the UK.....then no way, it won't hit my home town. Then thinking the lockdown was just a rumour. Boy was I wrong.
Look at the situation now, we're grounded to our homes only to be let out for essentials. Having to be super careful not to make contact with anyone, not even stand near someone. Fearing the loaf of bread I just picked up from the store might have the virus on the packaging, wiping every little thing down.
This whole situation is bizarre, leaving the house for food and seeing all the shops closed, hardly anyone about. It's almost like the apocalypse had happened.
The UK is now in a 3-week lockdown with 2 remaining which could be extended, and there's talk of social distancing possibly lasting up to 6 months. I'm just wondering will the future be permanently different? In a sense with how we act with one another, keeping our distance and being extra careful with hygiene. I mean it's a good thing, people need to take this seriously to save lives and it's pretty upsetting hearing stories of people not taking it seriously and visiting friends and family outside their own household.
With all of that aside, I have been noticing the supermarkets are making a recovery with their stock. There's actually food on the shelves and even toilet roll haha
and I'm forever grateful that Dominos Pizza is still up and running for all my pizza needs
We cannot forget to thank our health system and all of their workers (I know....pizza is great but the NHS is better) I have family members who are on the front line who I am ever so proud of helping patients
Went for a walk today just to get out with my dog and seen WAAAY the much traffic in my community... no one has common sense
It's nice to see that people are still getting out for walks though, just because they say not to go all over doesn't mean you can take a secluded walk, and any time I've gone out, the other joggers/walkers make sure we stay a good distance, which is nice.
As for the future, people will no doubt take hygiene more serious for the next several years. Everything will recover and return to what it once was, no different than the aftermath of past pandemics.
It's good to practise proper hygiene, but I agree that It'll probably go back to normal eventually. I'll never ever touch my face at an airport though, pandemic or not! lol
Also! I heard that experts are saying lockdown should be in place until June for the UK. With Distancing being til October or so. I wonder how our foolish leadership will take it!
Yeah, with each passing day and week the duration of the lockdown seems to be increasing. I'm just wondering how long the public will put up with it until they start rioting.
And thank you!!
I'm hopeful that world changes for better from this. I'm mostly worried for some of my familymembers who's health wouldn't be able to take it. Good thing i managed to go for NFC before this whole coronathing blew up. One of the best events i've ever been to :)!
Ah that's pretty lucky you managed to go to an event beforehand, my brother and his boyfriend went to Disney land just before this whole outbreak happened. I guess we'd be lucky to even get a holiday this summer with how things are looking.
