When I am forced to go to places to get supplies I have started to wear my ears and donkey leggings. When asked why am I dressed as I am I tell them that in such a serious times people need to be reminded that there are happies things to think about. I am just trying to my part to bring a little joy to a few peoples lives in such a bad time.
I had thought when a fur is forced to go outside that owns ears and or a tail that they would wear them and if asked say that they too are just trying to bring a little joy to people in such a bad time. Now fursuit heads are still out of the question in most places because your faces are still covered and that may attract the wrong kind of attention.

Might I mention that I've gone to a totally vacant beach in the past. ...and then a party broke out.
I'd sooner challenge society's thinking by slipping into a full on space suit. Or maybe a Storm Trooper suit. But, the damn thing apparently loves plastic and calls it a mobile Motel 6.
