TY for being awesome -- Seeking Music Recommendations!
As it says in the title -- ty for all my clients especially for being really understanding of wait times -- it's hard to concentrate on art some days when the world's kinda, yknow....falling apart...
And the rest of you guys for being wonderful folks as well. It's nice to talk even only over journals!
I have a bad habit of falling into this cycle of feeling overwhelmed and then hiding away into a corner and going completely silent. So I'm trying to put in the effort to be more social on all my platforms!
This past week has been real rough outta nowhere. A compounding lack of sleep and insomnia in full swing. Normally have some trouble falling asleep but not in staying asleep, but lately I've had trouble with both.
I'm getting on a new med tho, which should help and I'm so excited to get started with that. Even getting the script called in was a huge weight off. Not having to worry about getting that sorted.
That's what's up with me!
Sorting music always brings me some peace, so I have a question for you all:
Got some music recommendations? Songs or playlists that fit with your characters or certain art you've gotten? Songs that fit with big moments in tabletop games or RPG?
Hit me with some good tunes and good tales!

Hope at least one is new and something you find nice. I tend to listen to a lot of video game music and remixes, so they tend to translate to tabletop bgms pretty well
Yu Yu Hakusho takes me back! I've been meaning to give a rewatch for forever. The opening always makes me smile.
I only just started getting into FFXIV (giving the free trial a go) -- but that Shadowbringers mix was lovely. Definitely adding that to the playlist for my Sunday game. Oh man, very inspiring!
I am WEAK for big brass or jazz covers of...anything, really. If I may recommend in turn:

https://youtu.be/XweXGMMI8DQ
https://youtu.be/aczcmKRd4F4
https://youtu.be/CcHjxOKN0Pk
https://youtu.be/iW7b8Mo_SFU
(They’re a little spoilery vids, but not too bad I don’t think.)
For other game jazz/big band:

https://youtu.be/W8dXOz_XZL8
https://youtu.be/5CPbg9ljE4M
And I gotta say, I haven't been to a single zone where I've disliked the music. Even hearing the Chocobo riding theme all the time I mount up is fantastic. Such a jam, gets me excited about adventuring every time.

I mean I have no idea what they're singing about but I can feel it, ykno?
Got me thinking about other Japanese rock I've loved in the past -- and I went on a bit of a quest to find this Gackt Track:

For adventure/RPG music, I love the Actraiser OST. Here are a couple of examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ9.....dex=6&t=0s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUI.....1T&index=7
I'd never heard of ActRaiser by name before this!
I dig the 16bit sound -- and also found some Orchestral covers too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXHOGEOM1oE
I plan on using the OST from my favorite Castlevania as the back track for when I run Curse of Strahd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqQPr3ZcbtE
Admittedly, I'm not a DnD player. I played once when I was a teenager back in the early 90s haha. I remember having the hots for a demigod wolf dude named Amon.

You ok with vocaloid stuff or do you prefer human singers?
I have a non vocaloid that has a similar feel for some:

Some other stories:

And a whole set from supergiant you might have seen or maybe not:
https://youtu.be/fpNucBxitAc
Le bal des chats was utterly charming and JUST what I needed. I found the full album from Cécile Corbel on Google Play and even tho I don't understand a word of French, it's utterly charming and super relaxing to listen to.
Supergiant has put out some of my very favorite games -- Pyre is one that I hold very very close to my heart!
To see a live performance video tho, that's something special, thank you so much for linking me that, I REALLY loved it!!!

And of course, the saddest story song ever sung:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7lmAc3LKWM
I'd never heard Chris de Burgh, but WOW I absolutely love it! He has a truly beautiful voice.
If I had to pick a fave from what you linked, (it's difficult but) probably Crusader. Sucker for knightly aesthetics.
A couple you might like, if you link me those --
The Queen of Argyle by The Bedlam Boys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zzlQKEKAKg
Song of the Witches by SJ Tucker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORDNWwHzdaE
Dan Avidan's cover of Scarborough Fair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNcEVe2biJA
(How dare you link the saddest track ever lmaoooo)
Song of the Witches was a very fun and whimsical song.
Dan Avidan's cover was also really good. I had only ever heard Simon and Garfunkle's version before.
Yeah, I do love Chris de Burgh's voice. It carries just the right of power or emotion, to fit beautifully with his songs. And I think the knightly aspect of Crusader is what draws me to that song as well.
If seems as if you enjoy a 'minstrel' sound, so I'm assuming you're a fan of Jethro Tull's 'Songs From the Wood' album.
But a group you may not have heard of, is Blackmore's Night (very few people I talk to have). This is guitarist Richie Blackmore (of Deep Purple fame) and Candice Night doing what I can only call renaissance rock; though I have no idea if there's an actual term for it. *laughs*
They have a lot of 'softer' songs, but I prefer the more energetic ones, such as the following:
(Sorry for so many links, but each song is fairly distinct and gives more rounded examples of their music.)
- Fires at Midnight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L72e7OgW5j8
- Village on the Sand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZpcIPuLDi0

- All Because of You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdJ4kW6mkqA

What a banger of a track!!
I've been listening to a lot of Future Funk lately, with half alive being my go to!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOOhPfMbuIQ
I often listen to when I need to concentrate. Especially the songs "A/B" and "Tour de France". :3
I've got a couple albums that are my go-to's:
1. 10,000 Days - Tool (for when I REALLY have to buckle down and get stuff done)
2. Dear Wormwood - The Oh Hellos (for chill everyday jams, also nice to drive to. I love their lyrics. GREAT live show, too, if you like indie music)
3. Now, Not Yet - Half-Alive (electrofunk band, I think might be up your alley after listening to your fave album!)
Classic rock always makes me think of summer, my family had mix CD's we'd put on blast while doing yard work or driving with the windows down. This track jumped in my head first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZQxH_8raCI
