Hope they're not going to do like my time with the Tales of the Tai-Pan people back in the early 1990s. After they'd settled on a membership and we were all getting on well, the "leadership" started pushing people out and replacing them with their hard-left ideological buddies. It was never "You're not left-wing enough, go!", but long, drawn-out campaigns of disregard and shifting standards (A could remain despite providing nothing, while B had to endure harsh critique for an offhand comment about abortion support), undefined terms ("quality control") and un-provable claims whispered between members of the clique. A lot of folks were edged out while others just got sick of the cowardice and left of our own accord.

Their rules have always been arbitrary and never locked down, that way they can change their minds at any point. It has been well demonstrated they are far left leaning and anyone opposed to those views gets their posting punished. Don't even bother arguing with them it only makes matters worse.

Soo theres a lot of controversy over the confederate flag too, it has historical purposes. As well as the Nazi flags. If people portrayed them for historical things it wouldnt be so bad, but it seems people are pushing those two items in negative manners and that's when it gets bad.

Also not all art of the confederate flag is bad, nor all art of nazi symbol is bad, i feel it has to depict hate to be a bad image. It should be taken by a case by case but thats not going to happen most likely, they will just figure all images with either symbol are bad. Its how it goes, improper censorship.

Fun little thing I found out. The oh so hated southern pride Confederate flag was never actually flown in the civil war from my research. Now the design was on one or two flag designs, plus the one in question, but that is 3 out of over 20 flags and they only used 10 to 15 of those flags and never actually decided on a proper Confederate Flag.

The fun part imo comes from, what I find, the Confederate we all know and either don't care about or hate came from a southern group against civil rights called the dixiecrats. The Dixiecrats gave the hate groups that used the that flag to hate groups like the kkk.

People not doing research are just taking it at face value all Confederate States had that flag. Hell did you know the last Confederate army that gave up was led by Native Americans?

The flag was flown during the civil war, though not as a government flag. It was a military flag, used by the Army of northern Virginia (this flag was square but had the design) and as the confederate naval jack toward the end of the war. The confederate government flag also featured the battle flag in its canton toward the end of the war as well, as the CSA government had 3 flags (the stars and bars, the stainless banner, and the blood stained banner).

The US flag flew over slavery DURING the civil war, as several slave states stayed in the union, and any areas the union army held when the emancipation proclamation was issued (like New Orleans and Tennessee) kept slavery until the 13th amendment abolished it.

Humor in general is not allowed, anything funny, even if its darker humor, must be stamped out by outrage mobs.

nThe left has gotten lazy over the last decade, used to they would have actual debates, at least most would. Now anything right of center is seen as fascist to them and there is no nuance. Even the Gadsden flag, which is a libertarian symbol against tyranny is seen as fascist because its right wing. The left has tunnel vision for these symbols, if there are 1000 American flags and 1 guy off in a corner with a confederate flag, you can bet the one guy with the confederate flag is going to be on the front page of the paper/news article so they can depict all the protesters as racist, since its more easy to dismiss their points that way. Oof course, this guilt by association tactic is never used against leftist "protesters" who riot and destroy property or injure people while waving hammer and sickle flags.

Yeah, that is a particularly egregious example of it, but its something I have been noticing more and more over the last decade really, if not longer. lying by omission is still lying, and I wish the media wold understand that.

The controversy over the confederate battle flag stems for a process that's been going on for a long time in the US.

1. the south is used as America's racism scapegoat. Southerners are collectively held responsible for racism in the US. Other areas of the US get out of answering for their racism by invoking the south, even when it's not relevant.

2. Because of its role as racism scapegoat, it's socially acceptable to hate people from the south and assume that they are racist based solely on where they are from. For some people, being southern and being racist are the same thing and can't be separated, leading to dehumanization.

3. Anything southern is seen as racist by default, the confederate battle flag can be seen as a symbol of the south, so therefore it's racist. This also applies southern culture in general (southern accents, music, architecture, or food are all seen as bad because racism) .

4. Racism in the south is collectivized in a way that it isn't anywhere else. If a Californian is racist, it's seen as an individual failure, if an Alabaman is racist, their whole town or state is racist and the person is held up as proof of it.

Even if the south banned the rebel flag, took down every confederate monument, and changed the name of everything named after a confederate in any way, it still wouldn't be change the issues noted above. In the end it isn't about taking the flag or monuments down, it's about punishing the south to feel better about themselves, which is not a healthy coping mechanism and breeds justified resentment.

Most of the time when I see a confederate flag here, it tends to be either in a historical piece, or is to show that a character is a redneck/southerner. Nazi flags and symbols I have not seen as much of but usually when I do it was either to show a character is a bad guy or evil, or Hugo Boss uniform fetishism. Sure, some might post them to get reactions from people, but If I didn't like a pic I just didn't fav or comment and hit the back button, but now people have to virtue signal their opinions on things they obviously don't know much about.

Washington and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves, but were founding fathers. Lincoln never owned slaes, but was not the anti racist crusader he is often made out to be, he supported the Corwin Amendment which would have prohibited the federal government from banning slavery . teddy Roosevelt was the guy who led the Spanish american war, which the left views as imperialist, so I can see why they want him off.

Many of the "confederate monuments" groups like the SPLC complain about are actually in cemeteries. There are a number of tombs to unknown soldiers or mass grave burial sites listed as 'confederate monuments". I can understand wanting to stake down flags from government buildings and wanting to take down some statues, But anything in a cemetery should be left alone, period. the ones wanting to dig up the dead make me sick and cemented that it wasn't about ending racism, it was about acting on a grudge against southerners and once again flailing that scapegoat make themselves feel better.

I doubt the woke mob will ban Auschwitz, since to them its proof of how evil white people are (ignore the other white people who fought and died to end that regime). With the south and confederacy, it's a scapegoat measure, they think that by flogging the racism of the south, no one will look at how racist other parts of the country have been. The south has done more to own up to its history of racism than other parts of the country have, and the rest of the country wants to prolong that as much as possible.

There isn't a bunch of alternatives to FA and the staff know it, they propogate this lie and then when someone tries to make an alternative they prep to kill it before it can start. Another irony, FA is close to a monopoly as far as a furry-based art site is, most people don't go near IB, sofurry is so forgotten i keep forgetting if it's even still around, weasyl is a site everyone promoted then never post on, most of which have stigmas about them that paint users of the site negatively, people even try to smear IB as promoting nazis just for allowing free speech.

FA has the largest grouping of people and artists, their competition have been staggered due to smears, any attempt to make an alternative now results in the sites getting flooded or otherwise killed (funny how you can just label a site as nazi and payment processors will block it and we're not supposed to find it suspicious that every single alternative that comes up suddenly gets labeled as a nazi site)

The only alternatives aren't furry sites or furry-oriented sites, which is inconvenient for the users who are after niches around specific tastes, limiting people severely.
