What a year

This is the beginning of my Journal.
So I am quickly (read: Sunday) approaching my 30th birthday. A lot has happened. I lost my mother to breast cancer and my aunt to ovarian cancer, I moved Charlottesville with my new job, I'm waiting on a home to be built and meanwhile living with the barest essentials in a two-bedroom apt with the family. I've passed another year of college classes and have only one left to go, got a promotion, learned about the finer points of wine and wii bowling...
It's been quite a year, many firsts, many things I never thought I would have to do.
30 years have taught me so much and in the same regard shown me how little I really know. So this Sunday when I raise my long island iced tea and toast to friends and family, there are many things I think about, and many things I would like to say. But my wish for myself and for all of us--
"I wish to die a young man, no matter what age it might occur."

Yeah, my 30th yer was like that. I'm 31 now.
