I'll go back to work "(the one where I do make more money than artistic but be an artist as pro in the future seems really enjoyable), once the evening has come I'll try some things again too.
Like yesterday, just be a watcher comment with a ref or image of your character, and I'll randomly pick one to experiment things with it.

Next step: Ref sheet! I need to do this thing the right way.
On mine, it's some illustrations to build a refsheet, plus a detailed description.
But just a detailed description plus examples of what you want is a good way. ^^

The advantages and drawbacks of random, the number of try don't enhance the chances to win, or not. Well, maybe a little on many tries if you compare to some others.
