Dame Vera Lynn CH DBE OStJ, "The Forces' Sweetheart" whose songs provided hope and captivated millions of soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines during the Second World War, has died today at the age of 103.

Just you wait and see...
The whole movie is a Kubrick classic worth the watch...
it's a funny(?) version of doom and gloom unlike the dark scary version of "Fail Safe".
Also worth the watch.
Both movies show the fear and near all consuming angst of the 50's-60's...

I'd seriously would love it when similarly soulful songs would be made and get popular without what was seemingly neccessary the last time.
I still hope that such songs will be played when we, as a species, get out into the cold void to break new grounds, new homes there.
