Depends on the situation. Sometimes you do have to win someone else's love, and sometimes that also means you are put in competition with another who also seeks to win that same person's love. In that situation, yes, it can be a competition, but once two people have mutually won each other over, the competition ends and the relationship can begin.

That's a very vague and idealistic explanation, considering there are tons of other factors that come into play regarding the "relationship" part, but that's a basic explanation of my thoughts.

Love is a competition, in my opinion. Everytime I find a guy that I might like going out with, he's already got a boyfriend. So yes, it IS a competition, in terms of finding the right person before he finds another.

Yes it is healthy, especially if you're actually in love.
Your emotions would cause you to feel competitive towards other people.

Love is a complicated force. It makes us, breaks us, makes us do somersaults, to be with the one person who makes your heart leap whenever you hear their voice. Love cannot be explained. And it probably shouldn't be thought of as a competition. But unfortunately, you only get one person to spend your life with. It is one of the hardest life decisions. You'll only get a second chance to choose if the first doesn't go well (Which we hope to avoid. >_<) We all hope for happiness. I think such depends as to whether, by "love", you mean either "attraction" or "goodwill-seeking." Attraction seeks nothing more than you and the other, so competition would be a natural by-product. Goodwill-seeking is the opposite: such APPRECIATES others doing goodwill to the others, since goodwill has a larger perspective.
