(Too much text? TLDR at the bottom)
They fled their country's crashed economies and came here to work for, at best, the minimum wage, but after the pandemic many of them have been unable to do even that, they have started running out of food, they rent tiny rooms with inflated prices in the bad parts of town with no heating, no beds and badly insulated walls from which you can see the light from outside and feel the wind.
It's also winter in this part of the world, temperatures reach the negative celsius.
Usually it's the parents who start getting skinnier first, one can see from their old pictures that they weren't always like that, but now they are forced to prioritize their scarce food for the children and pregnant women.
These are the realities in which many immigrants from Haiti, Venezuela and other places live in my town. On top of that, many have to deal with learning the language, being away from family, exploitation, and the racism of a country who is not yet used to other people.
After getting tired of the bureaucracy and inefficacy of some of the local charities ("let's do a zoom meeting next week to write down our vision xd") my family has started a small unofficial charity, in which with the help of local people we have been able to quickly help 8 families in the short and long term, by giving them food for at least a month, as well as firewood, gas, winter clothes, beds, help getting a job, contacts and hopefuly friendship!
Here you can see some of the things we've been able to privide, mostly through donations of great people in the neighborhood:
https://i.imgur.com/0kvnzRw.jpg Taking pictures of course is a necessary evil, because many would not trust otherwise.
It has been incredibly inspiring seeing the amount of people willing to help!
We would like to help more families who are going through incredibly tough times, so I appeal to your humanity and ask for a donation of any amount, and I give my word that it will be put to good use! I think we can all agree that no kid should be hungry and cold.
Any money sent to my ko-fi or through my furaffinity shinies from now until 21/August/2020 will go to to these efforts.
https://ko-fi.com/trigaroo (if however you want to give money to me, trig, then please wait until after the 21st!)
TLDR: I'm part of a small family-ran unofficial charity and we're taking donations to help families who are jobless, cold, and hungry during this pandemic. Any $ sent through my ko-fi or FA shinies until the 21st of this month will be used to get their first necessities for survival covered. I am able to provide more evidence privately if needed.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed!!! you have done something good and important and it's highly appreciated ❤️
