Why you should check out my favs! +poem

every day i browse by new, i open every cool, promising or weird picture in a new tab and continue browsing until i reach the 80th page, then i check every profile of the tabs i opened. some i close quickly, others i check thoroughly! it usually takes between 60 and 100 minutes.
in september i averaged 790 furaffinity links loaded per day :D (thanks History Trends Unlimited extension)
every day I end up faving between 2 to 13 pics (i guess i'm a bit picky)
i've been doing this nightly ritual almost every day for the past 3 months (and to a lesser degree since march) and discovered many artists, and i've even met new friends, acquaintances, transformice players, chileans, etc. just through faving and commenting ^^
i've learned much about my own taste and art goals, and developed some weird skills like getting better at guessing the artist's culture by the artstyle haha
why? i love art and furry art specifically, and i'm not a big fan of popularity/recommendation algorithms, i want it raw and i want to see some things i don't like or didn't expect to like too, and i also want to find cool people and new artists with potential =Β·)
you should take a look at my favs if you are interested in seeing a very diverse group of artists who make things i love!
for my 10th anniversary here i will select the top 10 favs among my favs (but this will be in 2 years)

I do wish the site allowed a way to follow people's favs, tbh. Though, failing that, I've got a few of my own solutions that work (via rss, telegram, etc)
Checking out the favorites of artists I follow is always a good way to find good art.
After all, I followed them because I like what they draw, thus our tastes clearly overlap.

an irl meet sounds interesting, I doubt we'll recognize each other if we cross paths but deffos very interesting :p
Furthermore I can agree on the notion of checking outside of algorithms and the like! THough depending on who likes what I do it might not be as random: For a long long time I take a look at most everyone who pops up as a watch or a fave, and get to browse through their gallery, their faves, their journals, to see what they enjoy and what they deem worth sharing. The interesting stuff I tend to keep and share for myself to others. Iβve likewise met some really interesting people in this manner, gained appreciation for different kinds of styles, and expanded my curiosity.
Chances are any page of my faves is at least half to 3/4ths comprised of content Iβve seen from others that strikes my fancy this way, and not from my own submissions. However I do think your method is novel; Variety is the spice of life and Iβm trying to be a better cook, after all. Explorationβs very worth the effort and the wading through.
Crazy to think that I'm not the only one with that habit.

Some are obscure and niche like Hildegarde von Bingen, the most unwanted music, with others like John cage and Zappa, I had to do some reading to understand the music. I also found a lot of favourite music like Einstein on the beach, Ethiopian melodies by Malik Abdul-Rahmaan & Chris Hound, Ai visit lo lop, and favourite artists like Farya faraji, Schnittke, Takashi Kokubo.
