Yeah people tend not to say what they mean far too often. You are absolutely correct in that the news media does report some of the events that don't fit the overall narrative. The problem lies in the amount of coverage and reinforced coverage of a specific narrative. You know damn well how much coverage Police killing a Black Person gets covered vs Police killing a White Person. That's feeding a narrative that clearly implies black people are being targeted. this leads to a lot of people watching this "Narrative" into believing black people are being targeted by police. This leads to people 'acting' like they are being targeted by police.

Effectively by nit picking words and ignoring what the argument is, you're forcing people to say "Not All" which is childish to do.
Don't get me wrong though, I think people need to choose their words more carefully to avoid confusion. Back in the day when Elevatorgate started, I went to Freethoughtblogs to find out what's up with these people. I wanted to understand their arguments, however I was banned very fast from the site. I had posted an introduction of myself where I was supposed to. After having familiarized myself with their site, and read all the material they told us to read before posting, I asked a question. One word that was confusing me a bit, and I requested a definition for what it meant. I got bombarded with insults for not reading the definitions section that I had read. So I reread it and found the word was still not defined in that entire thread. So I added that the word was not defined there and I would appreciate it if someone would help teach me the definition. Banned.

I was going out of my way to be polite every step of the way. So as they have no argument, I concluded they were just the usual internet fools and moved on with my life. Years later, Gamergate started and their hard work to make it about them instead of what it was actually about brought them back into my life. ~_~

Since then I have studied them a lot and understand their arguments as reasonably as possible I think. They are too inconsistent with their world views it can be difficult to establish a kind of general baseline for them.
