Journal Update 08-10-2020
Hey all, been a while since the last update again. Sorry for that, but again (and it bears repeating) I just never really have very much to say, I'd rather just show art when I can. :)
That said I feel it's about time again (hint hint) so here we are. First off, I closed down my Patreon a while ago together with my public discord. As Patreon itself became intrusive in people's private spaces they should have no control over, just to appease their PayPal gods. At least...I think that's what the reason was, they generally aren't fond of porn/nsfw and are incredibly unsupportive of sexwork(ers) in general. It didn't happen to me, but it wasn't the first time Patreon started being fishy. It was the last drop in an already overflowing bucket, and as art wasn't my main income anyway I just saw fit to close it all down. To those supporting me on there at the time, I appreciate you, and the fact you had the patience to stick around since my work was (and is still) kinda sporadic. And to those I supported myself on there, I'm sorry for leaving, but i don't think I'll be making use of Patreon anytime soon again.
With the closure of Patreon came the closure of my public discord. My intention for it was, specifically, to run my patreon content through it (also so people couldn't easily get to my work that way in case it'd end up on that yiff-dot-party website *groan*) but I turned it public and it grew kinda fast. With it came a lot of complications in terms of moderating etc. And let's face it, I don't make a good mod, and I don't really care about moderating anything anyway. :^) Over time the channel started losing traction, it grew a lot quieter, and to me, it just felt like an enourmous burden. It just didn't really turn out the way I hoped it would, and it was creating some certain subconscious moments of stress I think. On one hand I didn't really want to close down a channel with 500+ members, but on the other, again, apart from Patreon, what was the point of it really? It wasn't for me, so I closed it down quietly. No public announcement, just a week's notice to my patrons. I'm glad I did this in the end, it's a huge weight off my shoulders. I just didn't care enough I guess, and I probably won't be doing a public thing like this again.
Meanwhile, real-life is rather dull. My job (finally) took proper precautions for the Corona situation as most people weren't really sanitizing or wearing masks properly before. And as my country approaches yet another wave, It's pretty clear people in my area treat this willy nilly, and they generally don't seem to care until it happens to them personally. (I'm kinda cynical so I'm just; "this is just how people be lol") They seem to be more frustrated by new rules/restrictions laid upon them. And while in some cases it's understandable, this makes conspiracy theories rise again too. I'm...so tired. This makes me happy that I've grown accostumed to being a bit of a hermit, the same people that kinda made fun and forced me to be social are now slowly losing their minds. And ngl, I'm enjoying every minute of it. :)
Hope you all are well too, I'll be adding another journal in a little bit about Crash 4, since I'd really like to talk about that game. :)
