picarto in all honesty

What kind of features pulls you over towards picarto over twitch? Is there anything there thar you prefer over twitch?

Picarto feels more art friendly, and it's easier to set up multistreams if at least one person has premium. On top of that, twitch seems more geared for gaming, and twitch is better suited (for arts) if audience is substantial (imo)

Definitely one thing I've missed is multi-streaming with other artists. I used to do it a lot a few years ago with others! I haven't noticed a feature like that with twitch...so far anyways.

It difficult to figure out how to do anything on twitch's platform imo

twitch is def a bit more complex for that matter. Picarto is more easy to set up and such.

As a creative, what is more appealing to you with picarto over twitch?

I have yet to try twitch but I find picarto nice and simple plus you can host raffles and multi stream with other artists!

The copyright music stuff with twitch has me worried a good bit and I'm just trying to draw and have a good time XD


I feel like the only downside to picarto is that it seems to be a pain to watch on mobile

That's not to say Twitch isn't a place for artists, but it just feels ... fitting? Especially with the options that Picarto offers to artists in terms of streaming with friends or others you art with at the same time, and quite possibly the likeliness of easier setup through OBS or any other software to capture the streamed stuff as well.
I used to stream on Livestream when it was mainstream for art and it was horrid. Picarto is a much better place for artists where you are tailored to have your content viewed by people who aren't going to troll (As much) compared to Twitch. You'll spend more time banning people without chat moderators than actually drawing.

I think Twitch offers a bit more interaction and commands between the host and it's in-stream viewers, but I definitely know it's geared towards gaming, but I've watched plenty of artists stream there! I don't think it's any lesser of a streaming service than the typical picarto.
That being said, I prefer picarto because it's a bit more simple, and it usually loads better on slower wifis (I say this from having had satellite internet experience, which is 21st century dial up lol) and I've always just found more artists using that service.

Personally I used Picarto for years and had no luck, constant crashes, delays, users unable to join, etc

Since switching to Twitch ive had much better luck with gaining viewers, having smoother streams, etc

I tend to prefer watching folks on Picarto than Twitch but mainly because it's more geared towards art/artists like most folks said

Picarto for sure! I prefer the layout more since the chat isn’t as tiny as Twitch’s compared to the stream.
I haven’t streamed on twitch yet since it feels like it’s just for gaming, so I haven’t had much experience with it.

Here's my opinion on both Twitch and Picarto.

And this is from my experience as somebody who used the latter first before moving to the former in terms of streaming.

While Twitch allows artists to do art, it is mostly geared towards gaming. But the issue is that it's kid friendly, despite it being like 18+. And this is because it doesn't allow sexual content on there, which makes Picarto a more suitable streaming platform for anything sexual. But there are bounds of innuendos implemented in Twitch streams. And as others mentioned, Twitch relies on interaction between the streamer and his/her/their/its viewers, with commands from bots that are either already made from Twitch, or you made yourself.

But my biggest issue with Twitch is its use of music, hence why the twitch streamers I befriended, like and many others, get so worried about getting their streams, or vods and even clips getting taken down from DMCA. Picarto on the other hand, has NO issue with music, copyrighted or not. So I believe Picarto is more useful on Twitch. But as a Twitch streamer, it helps me gain traction on there. So I say picarto.
