Massive Overhaul + A Note to Who I Owe!
Hey guys!!
So, I've been tossing this tough decision around in my head for a while but after receiving a few notes and with the way things have been going the past week and a half, I've determined this will be the best route for me.
I could go about this without updating via a journal but I figured being transparent publicly always worked best for me and people appreciate that more than not!
To be truthful, I've overwhelmed myself. Again. I'm noticing now, and I've been experimenting with it, that I work best if I take one commission at a time and complete it immediately.
Which, is probably common sense to a lot of people! And it's embarrassing to me that I've taken this long to accept it, especially with the kind of queue I have.
Thinking about how long it would take me to eliminate my current queue while also working to make money, it would take me much longer than I'm comfortable with to chisel at my queue. Which isn't fair to the people waiting.
Not to mention, I feel like it will continue to stress me out. (This is my own doing, please don’t see this as me blaming others for my mistake!)
My ultimate goal is to do right by people! And for right now, I think it's best if I work on refunding a majority of my queue!
In the past, I've tried to work with taking on more and more work to eliminate the work I already owe and it seemed to get me nowhere with actually getting back to 0 with what I owe. With this plan of action that I have, this will eliminate the need to take on an exorbitant amount of work just to eliminate the other work and would not only take stress off myself but also make right with people who are waiting on some sort of compensation for the work they have paid for!
Plan of Action
As I said in a previous journal, this year is the year I will completely eliminate my queue! How I go about it may have needed some adjustment from before but I'm tired of keeping people waiting and I don't want to keep people waiting any longer.
My goal is to work Weds thru Sunday, and take Monday and Tuesday off=. I sell one ych a day, and complete it that same day and then at the same time, I take care of one or a couple refunds. So that way, I'm making money while also chipping away at my queues.
Doing this will eliminate a good deal of stress of my own shoulders, giving money back to people that are waiting while also giving my opportunity to work on some personal things!
I will be choosing to keep some owed commissions on my queue! But in general, there will be some changes to my trello to reflect this new decision coming in the next couple of days.
If I don't choose your commission to finish, I hope there are no hard feelings!! And just because I refund you the money, doesn’t mean that you’re not ever able to commission me again in the future! I just want to be in a position where I can take on work without forcing people who have already paid to wait for artwork. It doesn’t make clients happy and it doesn’t make me happy!
I won't be mass noting people like last time and instead, I will be noting them as I get closer to their refunds/commissions if I don't receive a note from them first!!
This won't be the way I handle things forever, mind you! I think I'm just massively overwhelmed with how much I have to draw as well as how many refunds I have to take care of!
So, I want to just make it right with everyone.
The ONE condition I will accept if I don’t keep your commission:
Using whatever I owe you towards a ych or commission slot [i]current]/i]being advertised and paying the difference between what I owe you and the ych’s price.
--You can request that what I owe you be put in a waitlist towards a future purchase! This is entirely up to you! The default is a full refund for the price of the owed commission.
With that said, please don't be afraid to note me with any questions you may have!! I'm always here to answer these questions!
ESPECIALLY if you don't see your card in the linked queue!!! PLEASE let me know so I can make that right!
You can track my progress and the changes being made on my trello here:

There are already a couple people on my refund list that I will of course be taking care of first! I will reach out to people in turn as I get closer to their refunds/commissions!
Thank you to everyone for being understanding and for the patience you’ve had with me thus far! I can’t tell you how incredibly thankful I am to have an audience and support from everyone that I’ve had throughout these years! I don’t want to ever seem like I’m taking advantage of the community so it’s extremely important for me to get back to a comfortable place!
I love you all and wish you the best and I can’t wait to grow even more within this next year! I’m excited about all the possibilities this may bring!
