It's how you would like to see your characters, don't worry about what others think.
To get ideas you can look for reference images of other bird or canine character designs, this helps inspire you to find shapes, proportions, and other details.
You can get different design proposals by drawing an idea, then duplicate it and change something, for example the proportions (longer arms, or shorter legs etc.) the shape of the beak, size. There will come a time that you will like something of all the created and that will be the final idea, you will get incredible results.

So im going to redisign the new and old characters design and ask peaple to pick there favorite.

I actually wanted to change David's & Matt's character design not beacause of what others think but beacause i get tired to stick with basic character design.
They are hard to be attached with and don't have that mush personnality (wich i will add more to them) but also beacause they don't have a compeling character design.
