I feel fine now. But it was pretty a bad time while I had it, and too this day none of us know if we had covid or not for certain as none of us had Health Care enough to find out. Was tempted to donate blood to find out if I had the antibodies, but not sure if mine would be helpful since I have AB+ Blood. {Universal user, but my blood & Organs kinda suck for everyone else on that table}

No, he had COVID . As did I, how do I know? because without reason or any other symptoms i lost my sense of taste and smell (which is one of the symptoms btw.) . They don't just drop for several weeks for no reason. To be honest, I figured I should have have died from it, myself as I have chronic bronchitis. Unfortunately, he died from it, while my body was able to handle it. People can and have died from it and unfortunately, my roomie was one of them. I did every damn thing I could to help him through his sickness. But his body couldn't take it.

As someone who's lived off of $600 a month growing up...one can stretch it pretty far if one chooses to, but fortunately I'm not blessed enough not to have to anymore, but would begrudge someone else from doing so. I would rather them spend $600 on a human being than on tanks that will site unused or equipment for those who abuse their power and don't use it responsibly. But I do recognize it's a matter of perspective and one's personal levels of feeling charity to their fellow citizens to feel that someone does or doesn't deserve such aid to being with.

Though...the argument is confusing since McConnel would rather give nothing, this Senate Republicans would rather give $600, yet his Republican president would rather give $2000, while Pelosi was originally just looking to give $1200.

Whether you like Trump or not, this Corona relief bill is a goat f***. The political class has decided to bloat it by tacking on numerous bad laws, because the name "Corona Relied Bill" means that going against it is political suicide for anyone. The inclusion of the terrible legislation is simply to appease special interest groups, and we will spend decades as a country fighting the bad laws snuck into this bill. That said, Trump cannot say no because it will be a plague on his reputation. All democrats would have to do is say he was at fault, and they'd be able to draft another bill with even less scrutiny and get it passed. This is a damned if you do, damned if you don't, moment.

Regarding the generosity of the US....is everyone just figuring this out? We've been sending out billions of dollars to a variety of countries for decades. These programs started as economic incentives to developing nations, when it was the US versus the USSR. Provide money, get nations to develop in ways you might prefer. Taking offense to this list is pretty stupid, because it's not new. Republicans and Democrats have done this for decades.

Let me offer an anecdote. The EU and other countries views the US as warmongers. They view us as a country of gun nuts. These are views which are easy to have, but then they come to the country. The first comments are that everything is huge (portions), it's open late, and people are surprisingly giving and talkative. That was what a dozen exchange students agreed on....and then we discussed our economics. Literally giving money away to other countries, and they joked about how our national budget hasn't been balanced for years. No wonder. Generosity is something hard to grasp, especially when universal health care and other programs don't exist to support our own people.

I fundamentally agree. Generosity should be reviewed. That said, the huge s*** storm this has raised is like watching people finally waking up, and being angry without understanding. Decades of this generosity and planning are what we as a people are. Maybe instead of calling for a stoppage, we can review a lot more. It may be time to start actually holding politicians to account.
