One week update
Hey, so I thought I'd give you all an update about how I'm doing, now that I've been home for a full week.
I'm moving to a lower sodium diet. I've noticed that cereal's that are "good for you" like Chex and Cheerios, are loaded with sodium, while "bad for you " cereals don't have nearly as much. The doctors also said that anything you use that has salt, should be moved to that pink Himalayan salt, as that's a lower sodium salt, and I honestly can't taste any difference.
(That doesn't mean I'm going to stop eating you guys, I'm still a pred after all)
I'm still doing regular physical therapy. 30 minutes a day no matter what until I have more strength in my arms and legs. The occupational therapy (hand and arm) they said if its anything I used to do, to keep doing that, as it helps with muscle memory. So I can still play the Switch.
I can type again, for the most part. I can do a little over 1,000 words in a single sitting before my left arm gets tired. Still not nearly as fast though.
I found out my new "For life" medication to keep my blood pressure down is going to run me 70 dollars a month x.x
The neurologist said I'm able to drive again, since my right-side is unaffected, and that's the leg I use to work the gas pedals.
I'm hoping the hospital bills can get wiped away or reduced, since I have no insurance and I only make 3k a year. The helicopter ride up to the 2nd hospital was 40,000 dollars by itself.
But, I'm still alive, and getting better. I can move around on my own, and I'm aiming for Valentines Day to no longer needing to need assistance in the shower. (not like that, I can shower by myself, but they said it's one of the highest risk things you can do. So by assistance they mean, someone has to be in the house for me to go into the shower. At least until more of my balance is back)
That's everything for right now. I don't have that much more to say. Thanks for all the well-wishes on the previous journal. Take care of yourselves, you don't want this to happen to you.
