Yo! It's been half a year since my last journal! I hope every single one of my watchers is doing well, because I promise I still appreciate every single person that hit the watch button for me!!
As for myself? Well the title of my last journal certainly didn't lie. I've basically been working my dream job throughout this whole winter!! Working as a ski lift operator [AKA a 'lifty'] has been absolutely fantastic. I feel like I'm getting paid to go skiing half the time. The only downside is that sometimes traffic is a nightmare, but not for the reasons you might think. My daily commute is the most avalanche-prone road in America! [Also fun fact: this is the only place outside of a warzone where people have permission to fire live ordinance over civilian heads!! That's how they control said avalanches.] So yeah, even the worst part of the job can be spun into something incredible, and the benefits are so, so numerous.
Otherwise, due to the pandemic not much other news, but I am convinced that I'm making the absolute most of my time given the circumstances. Still no idea what I'm gonna do when the ski season's over but I'm confident I'll figure it out.
Now, for the reason I decided to make a journal in the first place, I have new stickers!! I haven't gotten new ones since 2019, and have not mentioned my Telegram sticker pack since then, so it is definitely worth giving it another shout out now!
The bulk of the added stickers were done by Cúgaru! Who has an amazing art style for stickers! I also added one bonus sticker each from Pitari, Rude Bird Studios, and Moonblaze64 !

I studied Travel & Tourism just last year, so I know that there'll be a lotto positions to fill in resorts like those. Especially since the tourism industry has been looking less attractive to workers per se, courtesy of the lockdowns, and are therefor bound to have a lot of supply, with hardly enough demand. 'w'
But honestly, you've got me curious: How on Earth does having permission to use live ordinance combat avalanches? Just shoot the snow or blow it up or something? If so, that's the single most American thing I've ever heard of.
However, in more modern times ski resorts get specially made explosives called Avalaunchers that are much less dangerous, and much more specialized. These bombs focus almost entirely on the concussive (sound-based) blast of the boom to trigger avalanches, which makes them quite loud but in actuality it is a very small explosion. However they ARE still firing explosives over people's heads in some occasions. We had a particularly crazy storm this season where they were doing Avalanche control for 3 days straight before we opened again, and yes they were firing explosives over civilian heads
so ..... time to
