Interesting. Curious, does your world have hairless breeds like sphinx and Chinese crested? What are they referred to? Is there a genetic link between fur texture and hair texture?

Well, they would be considered furless, rather than hairless, but I haven't really considered adding them to the series. But, if I decide to include them, they would be assigned to a particular island and be referred to as that. For example, people from Kitwa are called, Kitwanese. So, they would be given one of the islands and the people would be called by their corresponding island. As for genetic links, there would be a steady link for peoples that have not been blended with other peoples. For example, Boomer's tribe have been untouched since the beginning, so they all have a similar appearance. However, when he and Sweetheart have children, they will have broken the chain and their kids would be a blend of their parents, not a purebred like, Boomer.

So, a fur-only head is like male pattern baldness?

When it comes to hair, I can enjoy it both ways. Some characters look great with [human-style] hair, and some look great with species-specific fur. I've sort of debated that particular detail when trying to decide how my fursona should look, and settled on floofy fur that's just short of mane-like. The kind that, when on a fox or dog, everybody wants to nuzzle.

Hey now! Arjuna is not suffering from that, he likes who he is. ♡ Also, girls can be hairless, too. I've written a story about such an occurrence in my notes. Being hairless can sometimes be a drag. >_<
