I just removed an instance of sexual assault by a character in The Dragon and the Steed and edited that chapter. I wrote the story nearly a decade ago, and a lot has come to light to me since then that makes me uncomfortable to be associated with that in any of my stories.

It was written with the intention of making the reader dislike the character, Katal, and to kind of foreshadow his abusive relationship with the horse, Fray. However, whilst that relationship takes centre stage and it is (clumsily) dealt with as part of the plot, this particular passage was a side-thought and there is zero critique of it, and no consequences shown for either character involved. This is foremost meant to be a fetish story that is fun to read. It is NOT a true drama, or any kind of literary work in which, in my view, that particular assault has any place.

I'm still going ahead with the sequel chapter, and Katal is going to get some retribution for his actions. Hopefully it will be fun to read whilst giving a satisfying conclusion to the story :)
