I’d say so! I’ve only seen bits and pieces, so I figured when I got my Master System I’d give it a try. I’ll probably be trying out other games in the series too :3

The original is Not Good gameplay-wise; I'll just let you know so you don't get frustrated that there is a point in the game where you have to just walk *through* a random wall in the middle of a long corridor with no indication that that's a thing you would need to do, in order to get to a major story-required city.

Story's alright though. Not the best but it's got some things going for it.

Yeah, I know the corridor you’re talking about :) Aside from that, it does seem pretty barebones for an RPG. I do enjoy it so far! I’m likely going to be checking out others in the series. I figured since I had already picked up a Master System that came with several games (Phantasy Star included) that I’d give it a go! Thanks for the input!

You should be aware that the later games are very hard to get if you want original genesis/megadrive carts! They've been in a couple of genesis game collections though, I know there's one on 360 at least that has all four of them.

The second game has a bit of a problem with dungeons being way too big and confusing, but III and IV are pretty good--can't say too much about those though as we haven't finished either. (life happened and then never got back to them! should do that sometime...)

Yeah, I discovered that as well :c I also saw on Steam that II, III, and IV are a dollar each, so I might actually end up going that route :3
Yeah it sounded like II’s dungeons were big and confusing from a few reviews that I’d read! I haven’t spoiled myself beyond a few screenshots of the game’s overworld and battle system, but I’m pretty curious how the original four games piece together. I might try to tackle and finish Golvellius on my Master System as well. That one is pretty neat from what I’ve played of it. Sort of a dungeon crawler, like Zelda.

Phantasy Star online 2 is free to play on most systems I believe. At least on xbox it is.

I managed to play a little of Online from Dreamcast (Didn't like the PC port), and Online 2. But veeeery little. Still, it is something I would have loved to get into back when it was more recent. As for the early games, I'm really not a fan of the RPG genre, but still was a little interested since it is a SEGA game, and classic SEGA is cool lol

Yes :3 I just beat the first game two days ago. I’m waiting on my second game to arrive. I managed to grab the third and fourth titles as well. ^^

I hope those are great too. I liked the addition of them on the mobile game ''Sega Heroes'', it was a nice detail and tribute to those characters yee
