you know, as much as i dont really want to admit it, im no longer gonna support people who think their character should be overly powerful, even my own characters bio will be getting tweaked so its less of a universal destroyer and more of a cute yet hungry superglutton
this is because without proper balance in abilities, roleplay with interesting scenarios just isnt possible, it makes the character into a self reliant vessel for fulfilment rather then a character you can get attached to, after all if everyone was a mary sue who could do anything with the flick of a wrist, where would the fun be in the context of the plot?
im gonna be removing alot of the macro aspects of keldi, like the black hole stuff and such, this is because i want him to feel at least a little more genuine, while keeping his ravenously endless appetite as it is, i get that people may like the macro stuff and dont get me wrong, so do I, but it will be kept separate from canon and only ever joked about from here on out
thanks for understanding guys, have a great day X3

I basically have an energy system. Different abilities cost energy for me. I need that energy to live and thus can't just do everything I want and be OP.
There are of course scenarios, in which you get unlimited energy for some reason, but then it's usually wanted to be heavily OP.
But in general there are limitations and hard stops for me. So I completely agree with you!
But for a story-focused RP, I mostly agree overly powerful characters aren't fitting. You want your characters to be as compatible as possible, and a large difference in power is one factor that often (but not always) makes two characters incompatible. But ultimately I think the best way to make characters compatible is to give them strengths and weaknesses in different areas. Doesn't really matter if one character is much stronger than the other when there will come a moment where their power isn't helpful and the other character needs to step in and help with their own unique abilities. Maybe your super-powerful dragon needs to get information out of someone's password-protected computer, destroying the computer isn't going to help so he'd be reliant on his hacker companion to get that information for him. That said, reality-warping levels of power does sound extremely difficult if not impossible to deal with.
