This beach sucks!

Between the end of March and beginning of May, I got to fill in for part of the Rabbit Hole music show.
April 5, 2020 was the last day I had worked my weekend shift at KRCC before being furloughed due to COVID-19. I was supposed to return once it was safe, but Colorado Public Radio decided to continue simulcasting its own Denver-based weekend announcer on KRCC. My duties were shifted to digitizing KRCC's music library, but that was canceled when the music director announced her retirement (and the eventual discontinuation of music shows.) I've basically been "on the beach" for 14 months and wonder if I will ever get to return to work.

I know, people need to work to get paid. I don't know what it's like being furloughed since I haven't worked one day in my life and when I did I was just volunteering my work. Now, I know that you're heavily involved with radio, and a saying goes something like this, 'You need to have a job that you love doing.' because if you don't, you will be miserable and you don't want to be miserable so this hedgehog is hoping very hard that you get your job at 91.5 KRCC back.

Funny thing about the radio beach, it's cold and dreary. No way to *heart* radio. You could always get a gig with an insurance company. It seems LOTS of unemployed radio peeps take up a desk in an insurance company. Too bad internet radio is still unpaid, but then, when you need to eat and live but you love radio? Podcasting keeps up the chops. Joe jobs keep you IN chops.
