Big Update, Big Changes
So it’s been a while since I have posted anything. Well I sold my boat and moved to 40 acres in AZ. It was literally bare land so the last month has been an intense setting up/building everything and so far one month in we have 4kw of solar, a utility/storage shed that is also doubling as a temporary kitchen and a bathroom (recirculating shower, fridge and temp kitchen setup) have a 3,000 gallon water tank, filtration and pump setup, got the concrete ring for the geodesic dome done, the dome frame done and subfloor framing done and the electrical and Ethernet run under most of the floor. Currently filling the subfloor frame with crushed clay then will do a fine sand layer on top to add extra support for the subfloor. It’s been a LOT of work but once done should have a nice, efficient, off-grid home. Then I’ll be able to do more projects and work more with animals again if my lithium battery/off-grid part sales company continues to expand and cover my income (anyone looking for off-grid high quality lithium iron phosphate batteries or inverters and more send me a message and I’ll answer your questions and get you the best deal I can find on very good batteries and inverters as well as other items). If anything has any general questions as well feel free to ask or check out our discord where we have been posting daily updates on our big project: https://discord.gg/WHDyBtUk check out works in progress page for the building project.
As always thanks everyone and sorry for the lack of posts lately.

How is the water situation there?

We are on the largest aquifer in the USA and Phoenix can’t touch it. We will eventually put in a well but are doing haul water (fill up a big 2500 gallon tank for our needs) at $0.04 a gallon and it lasts us almost half a year or more if we need but we usually aren’t super careful so it lasts 4-5 months.

Not bad! I had heard some disturbing stuff about aquifers in Arizona being messed up by large farming efforts coming into the desert

OP
There are usually 3 levels to the water here. A shallow one with not as good of water (lots of dissolved copper) that many use but they waste water horribly and put in shallow wells so yes some areas are having issues. The deeper water levels cost more to dig to but most areas still have plenty of water. When an idiot tries to farm in a desert (aired mountain steps here) the are just wasting water.
