She was looking at something that made her eyes grow wide with shock. He followed her gaze and found that it landed in the direction of where the bodies of the women were laid. He returned his eyes to her and realized that it was not only shock that brought her to a standstill, it was agony. Once again, she fell to the ground and even from where he stood, he could hear the misery in her sorrowful cries. He started to go to her, but halted when he noticed that Alder was already on his way.
Like an angel of solace, he watched his brother descend upon the girl and place his warm, crimson hand upon her back. She looked up at him, but as her back was turned to him, Arjuna could not see the expression on her face and truly, he was glad that he could not. Seeing her face wracked with sorrow the first time, when she was searching for her loved one, was hard enough. But, knowing that the person she now grieved for was one of the beautiful women that had been laid to rest, he could only imagine that the expression she wore, presently, was nothing less than utterly devastated.
