“Ah, yes.” he replied. “I’m sorry, I was only thinking.”
“About your brother?”
“…yes.” he admitted. “I…I just wish there was something that I could do for him.”
“There is something that you can do.” she said.
“What is it?”
She smiled, faintly and turned to her son as she answered, “Love him.”
Arjuna paused for a moment, then nodded his head, solemnly. If that was all that he could do, then it would be all that he did, even if he wanted to do more. But, then again, love was a powerful ailment, strong enough to heal even the most broken heart, or weary soul.
“Kitten,” Avalon said, pulling Arjuna from his thoughts, “speaking of love, are you alright?”
“Me?” he asked, confused. “Yes, I am fine, or as fine as can be expected. Why did you ask?”
“Because, of her.” Avalon answered, gesturing to the accumulation of bodies that were stretched across the grass.
How did she know, he wondered. “Mother…” he said, not know what more to say.
“Ah, yes.” he replied. “I’m sorry, I was only thinking.”
