“How are things here?” he asked, wrapping an arm around his wife’s shoulders.
“As well as can be expected.” Avalon answered.
“The younger children,” Cherry added, turning and gesturing to the youngest of the room’s occupants, “do not understand the gravity of the situation and therefore have a measure of obliviousness to it. The older children,” she said, turning to the corner where the teens were, “are not faring as well. They understand the weight of this tragedy and feel its burden rather acutely. Still, they are very young and do not know how to process their emotions well.”
“Is there anything that can be done to assist you in their treatment?”
“Yes,” she replied, with a weary sigh, “I have sent a message out to a colleague of mine who actually specializes in child psychiatry, Dr. Bravewolf. He lives in East Adohi and, as his surname implies, he is a wolf. Standing nearly twice as tall as yourself, Your Majesty, he would be more comfortable in one of the large rooms of the palace, rather than the more restrictive rooms at the inn. Would you be able to house him?”
