Been busy lately but I have plenty of ideas, many of which will materialize at some point.

Two ideas I'll probably get done next in my spare time are:

Finally I have some other ideas to do sometime in the future but probably not soon:

An idea for a "hired hypno" series, where the comics at some point have one of the characters hire a hypno in a sneaky hat and overcoat to hypnotize someone into various sexual encounters.

The idea I've had for the longest time is a pretty long multi page comic involving Sonic and Sally. Sonic has Amy wrapped around his finger (either via my hired hypno idea, or just because Amy is always in a hypersensitive horny state for Sonic), and wants her to be a sex slave for Sally and Sonic's amusement. Sally is disgusted at this because she is not bisexual, and storms off. Sally then can't get the thought of Sonic doing all kinds of kinky and perverted things to Amy, which she wants to get out of her head but turns her on at the same time. Finally after many fantasies and lying in bed masturbating, Sally imagines Amy eating her out while Sonic is fucking Sally in the ass, which is too much for her and she splooges. Sonic later asks Sally once more if she is sure she doesn't want to have a 3way with Amy, and Sally again confirms she is not at all interested, perhaps seeding a final fantasy in her head with Sonic saying "that's no gooood" or something. This idea will take forever so I've been putting it off.

This is an important journal because I have created a new account. I have had two distinct styles in the past so like many other artists feel I need a new account to differentiate between my two styles. This account, 3pac, will now be used for lower quality pics, lulzy pics, gay pics, meme pics, original characters, and requests/art trades when I take them. My new account is now for higher quality shaded straight pics drawn without the explicit intension of comedy.

I feel this is better to split the two accounts because many people watch me only for my hotter pics, and some people watch me because they find some of my other pics funny but not necessarilly hot. I am also restricting gay or bisexual pics to my 3pac account.

I am not going to move all my older applicable pics over there however, only new pics will be posted on That Smeargle.

I hear so much complaining lately about the act of "trolling." Most people do not even know what true trolling is. I hear people discussing that trolls are something like cyber-bullying, and that trolling is a really negative kind of thing. When I use the term, I use the narrow definition of the term, I guess the classical term. Trolling is a art. Trolling is for the lulz. Even wikipedia seems to have it wrong, although they use the term correctly under the "early history" heading.

I'm still going to be getting some pictures in before August. But I'm starting grad school August 1st, and won't have the time to be working on pics as often as during undergrad. I doubt you'll see more than one pic every 4 months or so, most likely I won't get a pic in until Winter break. Next summer I'm sure you'll see a bunch more from me, unless I get a girlfriend or something. Just giving you a heads up that although I won't be submitting after the end of this month, you shouldn't unwatch me because it's just cause I'll be really busy with school.

The theory to employ either simplicity or anatomically correct detail in artwork.

I once read an article describing the human tendancy to find the most emotional connection with things which either exactly resemble us, or which have less human likeness and are simpler in design. A happy face, for example, is seen as cute or at least as an aesthetically acceptable symbol of that emotion, much as is a sad face. And with a person with genuine sadness on his or her face, many of us feel sympathy for him or her. But that which resembles a human, but not quite exactly, is often seen as disturbing, and much of the emotional connection is lost. Androids which very closely resemble humans have been shown to be more disturbing to us than androids like those in irobot, according to this theory. When mapped on a chart, this region of disgust for that which only closely resembles us is termed "the uncanny valley." To site credit where it's due, research on this subject was performed by Karl F. MacDorman and Hiroshi Ishiguro.

This said, I see a comparison with hentai artwork. Simplicity in character design makes for a more aesthetically pleasing image. Furries which retain the animal quality in just the right ratio may be more pleasing to the eye than furries which very closely resemble humans. However, if the artist is talented enough, great detail in shading and character design is also very pleasing to the eye. It is the artwork pieces which try to look realistic yet fall just short which are the least pleasing.

I write this because I think that this theory of simplcity in artwork is what attributes the large fanbase to Sonic and Pony pics. The ponies are so cute and appealing because they are fairly easy to draw and simple in design. Sonic art is the same. My Sonic pics tend to be more popular than pics of other characters. The talented draw their high detail, realistic pieces very well, but oftentimes when others try to imitate this style it falls short and is seen as more ugly than if it had been drawn simplier. In my own experience, adding certain muscular curves to a woman's body in a pic lowers the appeal than if they had been left out altogether, however, if the curves are added just right and to the correct extent, it can also greatly improve the quality of the image.

I created a .zip archive of all of my major pictures. 231 of them to be exact, including my original works, colorizations, edits, and work as Ixtlilton. Even the old crap art is there! About 25 were left out because they were either deliberately bad, attempts at being funny that failed, sketches, really really crap art, etc.
