the day after: EF and you. and me.
Posted 9 years agoso... EF has actually 3 ex'es: exciting, exhausting, expensive. even though I tried my best not to spend everything at the dealer's den... I just did. ;)
no worries, everything is cool.^^
I met a number of people i've only known via the internet before. don't remember all the names (sorry, I'm very bad with names), but I hope they remember. I surely do. :)
we snatched a room way up there, with bathtub and everything. the room is bigger than my appartment at home! we were pretty much overwhelmed... later we realized we had on eof the rooms for the disabled,so everything is more generously planned to accomodate for wheelchairs and such.
a lot of the time I was at the artist lounge, making use of the space there. met a few awesome people there, too (you ought to know who you are. :)).
the note holders I brought were a blast! by sunday I could collect 70 of 100, excluding 2 destroyed ones... yes, the clamps slip off. but was it necessary to unsplice the wire? :/
it seems that a number of those little cubes were wandering off towards the dealer's den. they weren't meant to, I brought them entirely for the lounge room.
but, anyway. I'm delighted to see that my idea was a success. :)
the charity booth seemed to be a success, too. it was manned by two guys from www.painteddog.org who sold many interesting things to help with a painted dog project. looks like they sold all their little painted dog plushies within the first hour of opening... you saw them wandering about with an expression of "WTF just happened?" :)
I bought a little statue of two dogs cut out of wood. and sat down to make a painted dog character out of one, just because. =^_^=
the art show was a blast as well. because of obvious reasons (tight budget) I skipped the price tags. many art pieces were pretty special. and considering for how much some of the items went it's good to not look closer at the tags... I'd have turned green with unwantoned envy.
also, more power to the artists. :)
what else... didn't go out much. a hefty buffet breakfast and some chocolate and cookies helped me through the day.
in this regards, extra special thanks for the guys who ordered sushi, found out all those plates were way too much, and gave it away for free to all the artists at the lounge who were also runnign on sweets and mineral water. :) YOU GUYS ROCK!
weather was fine. mostly sunny, but cool and breezy. interesting effects came from the air conditioning: the artist lounge was like, 5° cooler than the lobby outside... huh.
it only rained early saturday night. the rest was nice and dry. it still was enough to sweep some leaves onto my old car, and a lot of tree juice driplets. had to cleanse the windshield at a gas station on the way home because I couldn't see much.:P
the sheer number of fursuits was as awesome as the climbing quality of them. I'm torn between cute toonies and realistic critters... but somehow it's more realistic. I hope that next year I can join the crowd with my own fursuit. :) gee, I'm such a slacker...
the way home was as interesting as the last year's. we took off around 1100, and I came home after 2200... the berlin traffic was clear, but after that construction sites and too many cars on the road cost me an incredible amount of time. towards the end I left the highway and used country roads. too me the same time and saved me 40km... hm, maybe next year I'll use that road again.
my t®usty old Ford Taunus held up pretty good. almost 250k km on the clock, 42 years old, too stubborn to die. XD some people at EF might have seen it, red-orange and black roof... stood a few paces down the road before the Estrel, where I snatched a cheap parking lot.:)
I'll be back next year.and I'll bring more note holders for sure. and hoping they will be returned after use... they will, right?

Take my hand, we're off to EF-EF-land!
Posted 9 years agoYes, I'll be at Eurofurence this year. Staying in the hotel rooming with
dreamfox and generally manning the artist lounge here and there. I'll probably not be buying much, dealers den can be expensive! :0
as promised, I will be providing note holders, note papers and cheap markers for the artist lounge, so that everyone sitting there and wanting to be recognizable while chatting and sketching away, can be recognized by The Crowd by setting up a namesign. these things are my own property, so please be a dear and return them after use! I paid by my own money with them. they are not property of the Eurofurence.
have to work today, later I'll pack up and head over to dreamfox, then be on our way to Berlin early tomorrow. so, see you there around early wednesday afternoon, maybe earlier.
ONWARD!

I'll be staying in place...
Posted 9 years agothere would be a weasyl, but it's still empty. I should fill it soon, but somehow... the time and such.
anyway! I've grown fond of this place, not that much drama as others seem to receive, and honestly, every site can go down when someone has enough criminal energy. no need for me to leave yet.
yours, Anbessa

preemptively a merry new year to all! ^^
Posted 9 years agoI'll be taking off to visit friends later today, so here it is a bunch of best wishes for 2016.
so many had to suffer shit in 2015, so I guess you are all excited to see what the next year brings... so am I. :)
so... drink responsibly, be careful of stuff on the street, and most of all, be careful with detonating things. every injured because a firecracker or rocket went off in someone's hand, or anything, is one too many. and don't aim rockets at your neighbour's house... not even in jest.
a few years ago, in the city of Tübingen, germany, someone did that, and then it got stuck in another house's roof. made two houses burn down which stood there for 300 years unharmed by even two world wars... many were injured, a lot more lost everything.
no fun.
speaking of losing everything, Feaoux-Meaedana tries to raise funds for a friend and their family who lost everything to one of the many floods torturing america: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7278837/ please consider donating a dollar or two.

merry holidays!
Posted 9 years agohappy christmas, merry holidays, happy yule, merry solstice... whatever you want to celebrate, I wish you fun and happiness and a drama-free time.
eat your belly full, and don't forget those who have nothing. call those you haven't called in a while, tell them you're still there. and that you care.
have quality time with friends and family and whoever else, and never mind about gifts and stuff. sing if you want to, and don't press those who don't.
and if you don't celebrate, don't let the bitterness overwhelm you.
be blessed.

pimping another artist in need

back from EF, all in one piece!
Posted 10 years agomostly, that is.
EF was a blast. even though I attended only one panel. XD most times I was at the artist lounge, abusing someone else's sketchbooks forfun & profitlaughter. and receiving some, myself... which doesn't happen often. but I will not complain! :) thanks to all artists who sketched me a stripey cat. ^_^
what else... I finally caved in and bought a resine mask base, a feline, and a pair of jaws, and a pair of impala-like horns. now I need a character to make a fursuit out of... XD very likely it will be a partial: head, gloves, tail. also, I plan on making it an use-your-own-eyes mask.from the first tests it should be no problem, proportion-wise. ^^
didn't buy much else, some original sketches here and there, and some tasty booze. :9 mead, cherry liquor, mocca liquor, and coffee liquor.
gthe stay at the 1stFloor hostelwas nice, the train travel worked out well. but thing was that you could hear EVERYTHING. from the drunken party people down the floor to people out on the street passing by... first night every little noise woke me up until Dreamfox (my roomie) came in, and his snoring drowned out everything else, so I could finally sleep. hooray for good friends! :D
my (t)rusty old Ford held up pretty well. with consummation of Precious Gasoline™ and everything else, the 1450km round trip was uneventful... except the driveshaft's cross joints finally decided to die on me. :P also I will need new springs and shock absorbers and a few suspension parts.
and time.
and money.
all in all EF was nice. art party, meeting old friends, making new ones, meeting the faces behind FA accounts... doesn't come any better. ^.^

them bluddy pr0n ads and you.
Posted 10 years agoFirst of all, I'm using adblock, so I only hear about these ads popping up all over FA. but the more I hear about them, the less I want to tolerate them. Hapless people browsing FA without adblocking stumbling onto these things? what if the script that keeps them from popping up for guestst and SFW-users fails?
What if it prevents new users and artists from coming here to stay?
What about the TOS?
I'll go and finally make use of my vastly neglected weasyl account in the next few days. in the meantime you could do like me and sign this here petition: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/.....move-adult-ads and hope the owners and managers of this site listen.
thank you for reading.

merry happydays!
Posted 10 years agoto all watchers I wish merry holidays. if you celebrate, merry christmas, hanukkah, qwanzaa, or however they are called/spelled! to those who don't - like the orthodox people-, merry holidays, hope you can still enjoy it! to those who avoid it for their own reasons, much success; it'll be over soon!
if you commented, you made my days! if you just lurk, I hope I could still entertain you and touch your lifes. to the people who comissioned art from me, thank you for interest and business; I hope you still like what I was able to give you. to the artists who watch me and I comissioned art from, thank you for your wonderful services!
generally:

onward to a year 2015, I wish everyone for it to be awesome, successful, and in alas too many cases, beign a huge improvement!
take care of you and your loved ones, tell them you love them...

Posted 11 years agoor something. I mean, forget your troubles, call those you care for, eat your belly full if you can, share with those who can't. dance around the tree, or at least don't frown at those who do.
don't spend all your funds on useless trinkets you know will gather dust in some corner by easter.
don't let problems undermine your self estimate. I know this sounds easier said than done, but look at it this way: you ARE special. you can do things noone else can. believe in yourself, and if someone tries to tell you otherwise, be it family, TV, newspapers or the bluddy President... don't listen to them.
don't let you be trolled. don't fill their empty lifes with the joy of having made you cry. LOL at them, or better yet, ignore them. you can't slap them silly over the net, but they can't, either. all they have is their lingual bile. and that only stings if someone listens. (especially if you feel a depression coming up. especially then.)
take care of yourself, the ones you love and care for, mind the environment. we waste so much ressources and energy, saving a little bit might not be much, but if everybody does... but I'm sure you all know the drill. it's like a milion drops make a lake.
and: use sun screen.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Naturama Project 2013 is a go! Comissions open
Posted 12 years agoWe are looking for artists to help with nature preserving projects - we are looking for you!
Do you like wolves, tigers, birds of prey, otters, snow leopards, pets, ocean animals, wild bees or bats?
Do you create your own artwork and would you like to make a contribution to protect our beautiful nature?
Yes?
If so the international “Naturama project 2013” is your chance to become an active part in saving
those animals by doing a commission for the good cause.
We start again with the «Naturama» Project, that assemble artists to create their art to save the nature! This time there won't be a complicated assinging-rounds. The artists will choose a request for a picture of their choice directly and work it out.
Apart from that our art raffle at the end of the «Naturama» Project is newly added.
Every customer gets the chance to win a special prize in addition to their commissioned artwork!
You as artist join Naturama, pick out a customer for a commission of your choice and the money they pay will be collected and completely donated to environmental saving projects:
http://naturama-projekt.org/en/naturama.php.
Over course of the project, participating artists are offering a commission for art in order to create it for a fixed amount. The gained amount will be collected and subsequently given to different Nature Conservation Organisations.
No money will be kept by the Naturama project. ALL money will be transferred to:
WWF for wolves
WWF for tigers
Wildpark Lüneburger Heide for birds of prey, snow leopards and otters
Hamburger Tierschutzverein von 1841 e.V. for pets
Greenpeace for animals of the ocean
NABU Rügen for wild bees
and B.U.N.D. for bats!
http://naturama-projekt.org/en/donations.php
Naturama is completely non-profit!
It is so easy to support us:
Just participate as an artist like those who did in the past:
http://naturama-projekt.org/en/arti.....s_overview.php
or advertise for us with these free banners:
http://naturama-projekt.org/en/banner.php
In 2012 about 87 artists and free donators from different nations donated an overall of 3.006 Euro for nature!
http://naturama-projekt.org/en/gallery.php
2013 already over 80 artists agreed to join us like: TaniDaReal, BloodhoundOmega, DreamAndNightmare, Mjoellnir, Steel, Shalimar and many many more
– so now it is your turn!
For questions and participation please contact Naturama here:
info[at]naturama-projekt.org
That being said, if you still like to have something done directly by me you can donate your payment as well and I will do for you what I can. :)
so, what would you get?
Traditional art, or digital sketches; maybe even with colour! (I'm still too fresh to digital arts, everything elaborate would take me far too long, so.)
the standard size would be A4 (roughly legal letter size).
optional you can also have A5 (half legal letter) or A3 (double legal letter).
within europe, shipping would be included. I'm afraid overseas shipment is so expensive I'll have to ask for covering of the shipping fee. especially if you want insured shipping.
if you live in USA or canada, please keep in mind that shipping there can take ridiculous long for whatever reason.
what mediums do I work in?
sketch, pencil or ink; pencil, pencil/coloured pencil, ink, ink/coloured pencil, mixed with copic markers. (no watercolours until I finally learn how to use them)
And well, digital stuff.
what are the prices?
sketch: A5, 8€; A4, 10€
pencil, pencil/coloured, ink: A5, 20€; A4, 25€; A3, 30€
ink/coloured: A5, 20€; A4, 25€, A3, 40€
reference sheets, A4, pencil or ink coloured: 30€
dto., A3: 45€
each price includes two characters. additional characters are +5€.
simple BG is optional. elaborate BG is +10€.
Why Euro prices? because paypal takes an extra fee for conversion. I wouldn't mind it much, but if you donate it it becomes inconvenient. THank you for understanding.
what do I draw?
two-leggers, four-leggers, "'taurs", winged characters, with feathers or scales. also, hybrid characters. plantigrade or digitgrade legs.
casual scenes, erotic, porn, fetish clothes. machines, cars, aeroplanes. cityscapes and sci-fi to some extend.
bondage is possible, but I would need good references for gear and/or ropework from you.
what I don't draw?
humans. I'm sorry, but I just can't do them right.
underage characters in despicable situations (aka, "cubporn"), rape, watersports/scatplay, excess violence, hyper, gore/vore.
also, copyrighted characters without explicit permission by the copyright owner. (sorry, but this is too important for petty drama.)
examples:
sketch, pencil: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7264479/
sketch, ink: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6847213/
sketch, digital: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/9727070/
pencil: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5924588/
pencil coloured: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5004903/
ink: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5650734/
ink, coloured: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5815488/
ref sheet, A4: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5140072/
ref sheet, A3: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5233860/
elaborate BG: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7177896/
how will it go about?
once we've agreed on a motif, I start to sketch up something. once you approve you transfer the agreed payment to the naturama account. and when that's approved I'll finish the picture.
as for the sketches, it's of course possible to buy more than one picture, it would cost shipping fee only once and thus be cheaper for you. please understand that I can't ship a sketch that costs 8€ for 6€ of shipping fee.
respective links will be edited in later. :)
If you rather want to contact me via email than note me here: Anbessa[at]gmx.de
The same applies if you go to the Naturama page and wait for things to happen, of course. :)
hier nochmal auf Deutsch:
Traditionelle Kunst:
Standard: A4

(sorry, but this is too important for petty drama.)
examples:

ref sheet, A3: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5233860/
elaborate BG: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7177896/
how will it go about?
once we've agreed on a motif, I start to sketch up something. once you approve you transfer the agreed payment to the naturama account. and when that's approved I'll finish the picture.
as for the sketches, it's of course possible to buy more than one picture, it would cost shipping fee only once and thus be cheaper for you. please understand that I can't ship a sketch that costs 8€ for 6€ of shipping fee.
respective links will be edited in later. :)
If you rather want to contact me via email than note me here: Anbessa[at]gmx.de
The same applies if you go to the Naturama page and wait for things to happen, of course. :)

in what? awesomely coloured digital comission works, for example. :)
wingedwishes offers them, and this dropbox sheet has her prices and TOS stated: https://www.dropbox.com/s/onej56hqy.....20Service.docx
she offers free art for the pimpage, but honestly I care more about helping her get more exposure. :)
who else have we got?
nightspiritwing offers a lot of different things, and has an unique character design and a good grasp of colours.

and her prices are more than fair for what she has to offer.

and of course, a brandnew, all-expenses-paid, full warranty, freshly painted in seventeen exciting colours of the sun that shines on you, successful new year...
to you, my watchers, your significant others, your hubbys and spouses, your friends and family, those who are worth mentioning, and maybe even to those politicians...
may 2013 be worth the wait.
also, thank you for putting up with my art, my antics, my staying silent, for welcoming me in this community and providing it all for free.
I would be a terrible loner without it.

Get free Art from Cybercat Contest

featured artists meme
Posted 14 years agoFirst ten people to comment, I'll visit your gallery and pick three of my favourite pieces. Then I will post links to them and explain why I like them the very best. :3
If you're featured, you have to post this to your own journal, if you do visual art at all, that is. I think everyone knows the rules by now. =^_^=
Apparently this time around you're supposed to feature me in return as #1 on your list, but if you don't want to that's fine. :D I won't pressure anybody into doing it. :)
The whole idea of this is to give everyone a little more exposure. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to find artists I didn't know about before, so I'm looking forward to what other people will feature as well.
I'll update this entry as I get comments. :)
P.S. since I stole it from her
will be first. :)
ykoriana "new" artist on the block, with a collection of good portraits and pin-ups and interesting species.

MeMe: comment, and I'll...

Only if we have some history. I.e No complete strangers.
Comment and I'll...
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which colour you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what cartoon character you remind me of. (Pokemon? What's that?)
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you, and your answer has to be as vague as possible to keep the suspense.
6. Tell you my favourite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname
8. Tell you what's on my shirt right now.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

Defining Image meme
Posted 16 years agocopied from so many other people's journals... maybe it's more interesting for you guys that the last one. ^^'
so...
Generally speaking, people tend to have a 'defining image' that comes to mind when they think of a particular artist. Maybe it's one you can relate to, maybe it's the image that first introduced you to their work, maybe you just feel it was their absolute best, so it sticks out in your mind. So when ever you think of a certain artist, this image pops to mind.
So, I am curious, which of my works comes to mind when you think or hear of me?

Homophobia - the worst disease
Posted 18 years ago*I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian.
*I am the person who is afraid of telling his loving Christian parents he loves another male.
*I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.
*I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights.
*We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time.
*I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room.
*I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me.
*I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again.
*I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear.
*We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.
*I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me.
*I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman.
*I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.
*I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male.
*I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.
*I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that.
*I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.
*I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I did not have to always deal with society hating me.
*I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.
*I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.
*I am the artist who hides his work from the world, because his subject matter and feelings are shunned
Re-post this if you believe homophobia/transphobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it.
(What this says...its fully true...please all who see this...continue it....)
