Anyway! Loved the cons, absolute would do them again.
Met many wonderful other furs and furettes, artists, and more of the same. Got many new badges, some I got already and some I'm sill waiting on, and if given the chance I'll post them. First though, I either need a good scanner or better camera...
Now all I have left is going to LS Fest, but I won't bore you with that...or will I?
So now, the slum after cons and the wait for MFF which I do still plan on attending, and really hope to attend.

Anyway, writing this journal to let all you know about the places I'm gonna be heading the next three weekends...and maybe also explain why I'm gonna be a tad quiet.
Coming up August 26th through the 28th I'll be attending Indy Fur Con.
Then right after that 2nd through the 4th I'll be going to Memphit Fur Meet.
And to top it off I'll be going to LS Fest 9th through the 11th.
And yes, I know that last one isn't a fur con, but it's part of this update so deal with it. Also, if you're going to either one, let me know! See if we can't meet or maybe hangout.

So, here is the updates for cons.

Ok, now with that, let me jump right into things.
Hopefully you all have been thinking about me and hoping I am doing well. Which I am physically...to a point. Tired it seems I'm finding myself lately, with work pushing overtime on everyone and keeping me tied up longer then I'd like to be. It's a pain, but that little bit of extra money helps, especially here recently, which I'll get to that subject later.
Mentally, I am...stable, but close to pulling my hair out because of, you guessed it...work. Also, life has been kicking me in the gut over and over again it feels, so all I really feel like doing is coming home and crashing. So, sorry to all I've seen a bit distant towards here recently, nothing personal, just drained. x.x
For the last few weeks, the work load has been getting lighter, thanks to our "busy" season slowing down. Though I am still working forty plus hours a week, that's better then what it was, so hopefully it'll be just a straight forty again soon.
Uhh....what's a good next subject? Ah! Here's one. Cons.
So...I don't really think I'm gonna be making all the ones I mentioned before in my earlier journal, though I am doing all I can to be ready for MFF if anything, but the way money is going, it's gonna be close, and again I'll get to that later.
Though I do have a question for anyone that is going to MFF or plan to.
Did anyone get a fucking room at the Hyatt? Every person I ask say they didn't, I have not yet found one person who has. I had to reserve at Crown Plaza for a back up, but I'm still gonna be looking for a room at the Hyatt.
Speaking of, if anyone has a spare room at the Hyatt, and would like to let someone else use, please get in touch with me....PLEASE!
I'd prefer a single king from November 29th to December 6th. But I'm not picky.
And I can hear it, the people wondering about my financials.
Well this part is for you.
Where do I start? Uhh...I got a second truck is one thing, and it wasn't exactly cheap, I actually had to have my brother pay half of it, so now I'm paying him off month by month for it, so that's a good chunk gone each month.
Next, just bought a new laptop, an HP with a NVIDIA Geforce graphics card in, and it was not cheap either, BUT I have been needing a new computer for sometime now. My old computer is knocking on ten years old, for god's sake I've had it since middle school and it can barely run two tabs without crashing one of them, so it was time for an upgrade. Next check I'm getting an external hard drive so I can transfer all the things I wanna keep from my old and be able to access them on my new one, that way I can put my old one in moth balls.
And art, the main reason you all are watching me, right? So that's one reason I figured I'd cut those cons out, so I could keep content coming to all your lovely faces. :D
So...I think that's a good recap for the time being and hope you all find it a good enough journal. If you have questions like the specs on my laptop I'll try and find them for you, but other then that then please ask away, I'll be more then happy to answer them. <3

Posted 10 years agoOk! First things first. Got a friend I met at MFF and had do me a badge, and here recently she's opened for commissions but...no ones really come to her for work. Alright, now that the important part is done, time to get to the other stuff!
Now that I have a few more watchers then I had at the time of my last journal, I'm gonna throw this idea out there again.
I live in West TN and would love, LOVE to organize some sort of movie night for Zootopia, in which is coming out March 4th. Now two places in TN I have thought of doing this is Jackson TN, and Nashville TN, but I'd only do Nashville if there was a substantial mix of people from the east part of the state that want to attend, but if not, Jackson it is. So, if there are any furs reading this from TN (or surrounding states) that want to try and attend, please do note me. :3
Moving on to the next order of business. In one of my more recent pieces, or two for that matter, I posted Fallout themed art and said I'm thinking about linking a story to it in some way. Now this is something I've had kicking around in my head for some time, a Fallout type setting to sort of do fan fiction for, and that fan fiction taking place in a place known as Vault 45.
Now the only thing I am on the fence about and want to hear your opinion on is this. I have in my mind a version already where all the dwellers went in human, but the vault was one equipped with state of the art tech for gene splicing and modification, as well as countless samples of animal DNA in which they could do tests/experiments on. This is in which they turned themselves into the anthros they are now.
The other version is a bit more simple, that in which the world was anthro and they all fled to the vaults when the bombs fell. Now that one is a bit more bland with less story, but simpler. I will say this though, I really, really, REALLY want to do the idea of them changing themselves into anthros, mainly because I already have an extensive idea of occurring events that would take place.
Now yes, I would put stories to those pieces I have done, but, I'm also thinking about doing others in which I can have you all, yes YOU all vote on which one gets drawn up next. If you like this idea and would participate then please, let me know in the comments!

2015 recap/2016 plans!
Posted 10 years agoOh my jebus...it's been a busy year...and an expensive one! But we'll disregard that part for the time being.
Anyway, this is a wrap up of the past year and what I plan to do in the coming year, and brother, let me tell you I have a lot in mind. Now that doesn't mean it's set in stone, but!.....I do hope it comes to me in due time.
Alright, first things first, today marks my second year on FA, and in those two years, and primarily in the last year I have grown quite a bit! And I thank you all who have been there to support me, whether it be with a compliment or suggestion, it has all been greatly appreciated. Now I know I haven't come to each and every person and said so, but hell...working a full time job and life, it has me consumed. x.x
Now art wise, I'm still fairly new, I mean...my first piece was my reference sheet and that was put up eight months ago, but then again that was when I finally had the finances to get art, until then I was using Gideon pieces, and nothing wrong with Gideon, love his work and great guy. Seriously though, he gets too much flak for his work, lay off the guy, he's an awesome artist. But more to the point I've been into fur's for a while now, since before my freshman year of high school back in '09, which seems forever ago now. Though it was only here recently I was finally, and I can't stress the word FINALLY enough when I say that I was able to afford art in the last year. And might I say great work to Freckles for bringing the vision of my character to life! <3
Now things I did furry wise in the last year range from getting a number of art pieces to going to my first con at MFF. I have to admit, it took a while to get use to things, but once I was, I loved every minute, and since it has fueled me to look up more cons to see if I could find more I could attend, and so I have, but that will be mentioned in the things to come portion.
As of things present, I'm still waiting on...well a few pieces to be done, and even more badges! Yes, love me some badges. Why I want to go to more cons so I can show them off like some sort of furry bling! Huehuehuehue!!!
Umm...what else?...not much else I can think of in 2015 to list, although it'll probably come to me after I post this (always does) so if there is anything else I'll just make another journal or mention some other time in a another one.
Now!...The good part, 2016 and what I hope to accomplish in it.
First off...art, I plan on getting more of it of course! For mine and your viewing pleasure at home, all you perverts. I just hope they will be as popular as my Christmas pic though, good lord that thing was favorited like a million times...well...I wish it was at least. It felt like it, ok!

Gateway Fur Meet in St. Louis Missouri, May 13th-15th
Anthrocon in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, June 30th-Jul 3rd

Fangcon in Knoxville Tennessee, Oct 31st? (scheduled wasn't up yet.)
Midwest Furfest in Chicago Illinois, Dec 1st-4th
Now...the ones I am gonna try the hardest to attend (in this order) are Midwest Furfest, Memphit Furmeet, Fangcon, Gateway Fur Meet, and then Anthrocon.
Now I know, Anthrocon is at the end, reason being that's the farthest and...I don't really have the best modes of transport, but if my income tax check is kind to me then I will do my hardest to get a little car that I might be able to drive there.
Also, this will be quite costly going to these cons, and I'd hate to say this would mean less art but I will for sure have to tighten my belt in the coming year if I wish to attend these cons.
Now if anyone would like to help me out on these trips then please, let me know now and I'l see what I can swing.
For the next thing, it's still fairly new so not sure when it will happen. Me (as in my character) just might be one of the main characters in a coming up short comic!
Now the comic is called "In the Dark Below" and it's a short story from the comic series "All the Kings Men" by
theBlackRook who approached me to see if I was interested. But of course I was! I've been wanting to be in a comic for some time now.~
So we talked for a bit and I said sure, so be on the look out for Ben in TheBlackRook's upcoming comic!

For the next bit, I have also thought about getting into the art game myself, and by that I mean starting to do pieces. I was always into art when I was in school and did well in art classes, but after I graduated high school I never really had time to go back and draw anymore sadly. So to get into the furry art scene would do me some good I think, knock the rust off and give me another hobby (like I need another one.)
Not sure when that'll be though...tablets I'm looking at, which are Surface Pro's, can be quite pricey...so we'll see.
Also, Zootopia! It's a movie coming out March 4th, one I didn't find out about till I went to watch Star Wars on Christmas Eve. Why hasn't there been more hype for this movie in the furry community!?!?! I was shocked no one had at least mentioned it in a journal. Anyway, I was wanting to see about getting a group together either in Jackson TN or Nashville TN to watch it if at all possible, and if anyone is interested then please comment below!

Anyway, this is a wrap up of the past year and what I plan to do in the coming year, and brother, let me tell you I have a lot in mind. Now that doesn't mean it's set in stone, but!.....I do hope it comes to me in due time.
Alright, first things first, today marks my second year on FA, and in those two years, and primarily in the last year I have grown quite a bit! And I thank you all who have been there to support me, whether it be with a compliment or suggestion, it has all been greatly appreciated. Now I know I haven't come to each and every person and said so, but hell...working a full time job and life, it has me consumed. x.x
Now art wise, I'm still fairly new, I mean...my first piece was my reference sheet and that was put up eight months ago, but then again that was when I finally had the finances to get art, until then I was using Gideon pieces, and nothing wrong with Gideon, love his work and great guy. Seriously though, he gets too much flak for his work, lay off the guy, he's an awesome artist. But more to the point I've been into fur's for a while now, since before my freshman year of high school back in '09, which seems forever ago now. Though it was only here recently I was finally, and I can't stress the word FINALLY enough when I say that I was able to afford art in the last year. And might I say great work to Freckles for bringing the vision of my character to life! <3
Now things I did furry wise in the last year range from getting a number of art pieces to going to my first con at MFF. I have to admit, it took a while to get use to things, but once I was, I loved every minute, and since it has fueled me to look up more cons to see if I could find more I could attend, and so I have, but that will be mentioned in the things to come portion.
As of things present, I'm still waiting on...well a few pieces to be done, and even more badges! Yes, love me some badges. Why I want to go to more cons so I can show them off like some sort of furry bling! Huehuehuehue!!!
Umm...what else?...not much else I can think of in 2015 to list, although it'll probably come to me after I post this (always does) so if there is anything else I'll just make another journal or mention some other time in a another one.
Now!...The good part, 2016 and what I hope to accomplish in it.
First off...art, I plan on getting more of it of course! For mine and your viewing pleasure at home, all you perverts. I just hope they will be as popular as my Christmas pic though, good lord that thing was favorited like a million times...well...I wish it was at least. It felt like it, ok!
Umm...cons should be a good next subject. Now for cons I have a few in mind. Now I'm going to list them by date and elaborate on each one after that.
Gateway Fur Meet in St. Louis Missouri, May 13th-15th
Anthrocon in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, June 30th-Jul 3rd
Memphit Furmeet in Olive Branch Mississippi, Sep 2nd-4th
Fangcon in Knoxville Tennessee, Oct 31st? (scheduled wasn't up yet.)
Midwest Furfest in Chicago Illinois, Dec 1st-4th
Now...the ones I am gonna try the hardest to attend (in this order) are Midwest Furfest, Memphit Furmeet, Fangcon, Gateway Fur Meet, and then Anthrocon.
Now I know, Anthrocon is at the end, reason being that's the farthest and...I don't really have the best modes of transport, but if my income tax check is kind to me then I will do my hardest to get a little car that I might be able to drive there.
Also, this will be quite costly going to these cons, and I'd hate to say this would mean less art but I will for sure have to tighten my belt in the coming year if I wish to attend these cons.
Now if anyone would like to help me out on these trips then please, let me know now and I'l see what I can swing.
For the next thing, it's still fairly new so not sure when it will happen. Me (as in my character) just might be one of the main characters in a coming up short comic!
Now the comic is called "In the Dark Below" and it's a short story from the comic series "All the Kings Men" by
theBlackRook who approached me to see if I was interested. But of course I was! I've been wanting to be in a comic for some time now.~ So we talked for a bit and I said sure, so be on the look out for Ben in TheBlackRook's upcoming comic!

For the next bit, I have also thought about getting into the art game myself, and by that I mean starting to do pieces. I was always into art when I was in school and did well in art classes, but after I graduated high school I never really had time to go back and draw anymore sadly. So to get into the furry art scene would do me some good I think, knock the rust off and give me another hobby (like I need another one.)
Not sure when that'll be though...tablets I'm looking at, which are Surface Pro's, can be quite pricey...so we'll see.
Also, Zootopia! It's a movie coming out March 4th, one I didn't find out about till I went to watch Star Wars on Christmas Eve. Why hasn't there been more hype for this movie in the furry community!?!?! I was shocked no one had at least mentioned it in a journal. Anyway, I was wanting to see about getting a group together either in Jackson TN or Nashville TN to watch it if at all possible, and if anyone is interested then please comment below!

The story of bad luck Ben and the MFF trip.

Ok, to start, nothing at the event went bad (to me at least) but the bad luck part is more or less what happened leading up to.
So! We start from the beginning.
I only found out about MFF about a week before it happened, so more or less I scrambled to make arrangements.
I contacted a friend who lives up that way to see if I could stay with them, sadly...I couldn't, which is sad because I really wanted to spend time with her too.
So! I went to the site to learn more. I saw you could either reserve your own room or go to conroomies.com to see if someone had an open room. I looked both over and found someone with a spot open in one room.
I decided to contact them and wait for their word before I booked a room, which I know they still had one because it said there was availability for a single.
Wednesday I scheduled Friday and Monday off work (vacation time...what was left of it) so I had more or less committed at that point. I also reserved a rental car at Enterprise for the weekend, and make sure to remember that part, it's extra credit on the test.
Then...Thursday came. Got up at 6:30 AM, worked 8 to 4:30, went to Enterprise, asked where my car was, guy said "Oh, sorry, we had people keep their cars longer so we don't have one for you to rent this weekend" which put me in one hell of a spot. After all the string pulling I could do I finally came up with two options. Don't go...or drive my 200k+ truck up there (which rolled over 208,000 miles on the way back) and make it. Well, the last option got it because I was not missing this event.
So, got home, took a shower, made sure everything was right and saw the guy I emailed hadn't got back with me. So, I went to reserve my room, but guess what? Reservations were closed! So...at that point I felt like shooting myself...I didn't though! I kept faith and just took a quick nap. After a nap, loaded my truck and hit the road a little after 10:30 PM.
After eight hours and almost 500 miles on the road (all in the dark and half through what was seemed to be frost like fog, thanks Illinois) I made it to the Hyatt at a little before 6 AM. I went up to the desk, got what wifi I could and looked at my email to see if guy emailed me back...nothing.
So...as I talk to the lady at the desk I'm frantically tried to get a hold of him through email, but guess what, it wouldn't send for some reason! So I persuaded the lady to call one of two rooms my guy had gotten. First one...nothing. Second, got an answer, but...my guy wasn't in it. So after almost mashing my head into the counter I asked if she could call the other room just one more time. He answered. Thank god. So I told him I was there and he met up with me in the lobby.
After that, it was more or less smooth sailing.
Also, thanks again to
chronozaishi for coming in at the clutch for having a spot in the room, I made sure to pay him well, for I take care of the ones who take care of me.
Ok! Now that that's out of the way, segway into the con!
Got registered nice and early Friday morning (shiny sponsor, the only way to fly) and more or less had a good time hanging with people and meeting artists that I have been watching for a WHILE now.
Met some of my favs there, like

2.) Do you know why you were named that?
Well it kind of evolved into that over time. Though I'll give the shake down of it. Ben is my first name in which refers to the Big Ben in England. My middle name which is "Saint" refers to my loving and gentle nature, but don't let that make you think I'm too soft, I'm not one to be walked on. Then at last is my last name with is "James." It kind of mixes with my middle name to be "Saint James" which was one of the twelve apostles that followed Jesus. He is also known to be one of the first apostles martyred, in which that means a lot of times I put myself before others, even if that does mean sacrificing a lot.

Single! Though there are a few love interests of mine, one in particular, but that's for me to know and ya'll to find out!

1.) What’s your name?
Ben Saint James
2.) Do you know why you were named that?
Well it kind of evolved into that over time. Though I'll give the shake down of it. Ben is my first name in which refers to the Big Ben in England. My middle name which is "Saint" refers to my loving and gentle nature, but don't let that make you think I'm too soft, I'm not one to be walked on. Then at last is my last name with is "James." It kind of mixes with my middle name to be "Saint James" which was one of the twelve apostles that followed Jesus. He is also known to be one of the first apostles martyred, in which that means a lot of times I put myself before others, even if that does mean sacrificing a lot.
3). Are you single or taken?
Single! Though there are a few love interests of mine, one in particular, but that's for me to know and ya'll to find out!
4.) Have any abilities or powers?
Well...being I am a large Stallion, I like to think I'm a bit stronger then the average anthro. Plus in my RP's I like to use alchemy and the power to control elements, but that's only in RP's.

How are you lovelies doing?
I'm doing well myself at the moment, just working and taking care of business as usual, not getting enough sleep thanks to Destiny...fucking addictive that game is.
Anyway. Letting everyone know all is well. Got some more art on the way from
JavKiller I think some of you gaming nuts might like. Quick hint, it involves Fallout. And if all goes well I'll be getting some more here shortly...or, well ordering some more I should say.
Also, I'll be 22 years of age the 2nd of November! Hooray for getting old! XD
Wish I could say I don't feel it but...I kind of do. I now know why old people complain about their body hurting so much.
Oh! And another thing. As I am writing this, I see I have 159 watchers, which I think I had maybe 30 at the time of my last journal? Give or take. So to see people are enjoying my character enough to watch me is rad!
But you wanna know what isn't rad? People who favorite one of my pieces then unfavorite it! >: (
Make up your mind people! You outta be ashamed getting my hopes up then crushing them like that!
