Oh dear god I'm back
Posted 10 years agoWell...technically I never left I suppose...just went into super duper lurker mode for a few years...likely still not going to be putting up much...but...we shall see.
I return again...again...again.
Posted 12 years agoYeah, so as you may have noticed, I had another one of those things where I accidentally dissapear for half a year before coming back. Well hopefully I'll finally be able to start being active properly. Why will this be different from all those other times I've said it? Because I turned 18 some time ago and once I've gotten my paypal account sorted out, I'll finally be able to do commissions, which means I'll need to work extra hard here in order to get people to want to commission me to write stories.
So now I'm definitely going to be writing whatever you ask me to, no matter what, I'll obviously prioritize commission's over requests (If I ever get a commission). But whatever you want me to write, I'll write it, even if it's something a bit more riskay~.
So in summary, I'm back, and will be writing whatever story you want me to.

Someone tell me what to write!!!
Posted 13 years agoYeah, I've got writers block, sort of. It's kinda selective, as in i can't get myself to write any of the usual stuff (Pretty much just My Little Death Note). Since i don't really know what it is that i want to write, maybe you have an idea. Just request something either through PM or the comments and I'll try to write it. Consider it a commission only free...so a request in other words.
In conclusion, ASK ME TO WRITE SOMETHING!!!
In conclusion, ASK ME TO WRITE SOMETHING!!!
My Little Death Note Theme song
Posted 13 years agoNo, I'm not making some new music thing (Though i am working on some more songs). I just thought it would be funny to wonder what the lyrics would if this were the actual show. Mainly because at school i had someone start singing "My Little Death Note, My Little Death Note, Aah-aah-aah-aaaargh!!!" So of course we had to break into song and do an impromptu musical number in front of the entire year level.
Here's all we got to before a teacher came along and told everyone to go to their classes.
My Little Death Note, My Little Death Note
Aah-Aah-Aah-AAARGH!!! (Tryed to make the last one sound like a person dying or something)
My Little Death Note
I used to wonder "What's a Shinigami?" (My Little Death Note)
Until you shared this Notebook with me
When i was young i was too busy killing all my friends
The book made writing fun until I almost got apprehen(ded)
Yes My Little Death Note, you opened up my eyes
It's such a shame i accidentaly wrote your name in it that night. (What an unfortunate surprise)
And then somewhere between the chorus the teacher came. It was fun, it was random, it was crazy, It was Caberealicious. Personally i wish I'd recorded it so i could show you all. Maybe I'll keep my camera on my person more at school (If we were allowed to that was...err would be...stupid grammer)

11.2 is 1.2 too (2) many
Posted 13 years agoI was going to upload a song...the first one where I actual sing half well...but theres a 10mb limit to uploads. Turns out the song is 11.2mb (even when converted into the smallest file possible. *Begins banging face on desk*.
I'm going to be uploading it to my soundcloud instead then, in other words this, find it here (It's still a work in progress, and there needs to be some editing done): http://soundcloud.com/caberea/monster
WARNING!!! THIS SONG CONTAINS CABEREA SINGING!!! PLEASE MAINTAIN A FIVE METRES RADIUS AWAY FROM YOUR SPEAKERS AT ALL TIMES!!!

I'm back and crazier than ever.
Posted 13 years agoOkay, I've promised more times than i can count that I'll be back for good, so screw it, I'm just going to promise that I'll do stuff. If I remember this place (Trust me, I always remember it eventually) then it will go here. Basically I 've just been feeling in a bit of a rut with everything lately. I just have a feeling that most of the time my worked goes un-noticed (And for those people who do notice my work and put the time in to comment and such, I love you guys).
So yeah, enough of the serious stuff. I've got something completely out of the blue to surprise you with. I'm taking requests again (Cause that went sooo well before) but this time I know that I can write stories. So come on, ask me what you want written and I'll try to write it (If it's MLP:FiM related then you've pretty much got yourself an instant guarantee that I'm going to do it). Even mature stuff, (though Caberea and mature have never been used in the same sentence...EVER!!!) but expect that kind of stuff to take longer due to the fact that: A) I'm never written it before and B) Like hell I'm gonna be writing this stuff at school (Where i normally write most of my stories). I may not care what people thnk of me there, but I dont think it will reflect too well on me if the teachers see me writing clop or whatever in class
So in conclusion: I'm back, You can now ask me for stories, and just do as the joker does: "GO CRAZY!!!"

I'm in your youtube, stealing your internets
Posted 14 years agoFor those who have been wondering as to my absence which i once again promised wouldn't happen (I have to stop making these promises or start sticking to them), I've been making playthroughs of games. Currently there aren't many videos up yet but please give it a look anyway at http://www.youtube.com/user/CabereaWoof (You'll also finally be able to hear my regular voice).
For the book update, sorry, but The Lunar Republic is currently on hold and i am currently writing an fan-epilogue to another fanfic, My Little Dashie. For those Bronies who havent read it already I would have to recommend doing so, you can find it here https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....edit?hl=en_US#
The poetry front has been rather dry lately, but I have a couple of ideas that came to mind today so they might end up becoming poems, we can only wait and see there.
So once schools finished for the year (in about 12 days) I should be able to get back to monitoring my watchs and interacting a bit more with the FA community (Along with just about every other community I've had to neglect venturing around due to juggling them along with school) Until then, Ciao.

The problem with fanfics
Posted 14 years agoThose who have been reading The Lunar Republic fanfic parts, thank you, and you may have noticed a large amount of the characters which are in the story don't exist in the show and those that appear in the story have only had short appearances in the actual show. Oddly enough that made it easier for me to write their lines and construct how they would interact with the other characters, as their was less...I guess depth would be the word... to them. However in the part 4, Twilight Sparkle appears, and they have a character that is their own, and I want to stay true to that character but it makes writing conversations for them rather difficult. Pinkie Pie will appear later on in the story, which it occured to me will make the whole dark atmosphere of the story very hard to continue with due to her nature.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that It's been awkward writing part four so it's going to be delayed until tomorrow (Sorry). Oh, and sorry as well about the whole Twilight and Pinkie appearing if you hadn't figured out that. (The story's been leading up to Twilight's appearance so far, so you would expect Pinkie to be there too.)

Damnit ponies, stop getting in my thoughts
Posted 14 years agoI've realised while writing The Lunar Republic that I have a rather good ability to put myself into the position of my characters, particularly Starfall, considering how it is written from their perspective. My dreams have actually been like the ones that starfall has and I've found myself actually getting a little teary-eyed when thinking about Heartbreak and Stormhoof. It's a bit scary sometimes really.
This place looks so ponies now
Posted 14 years agoSo I haven't been very active on the sight lately, School's been a pain and even though it's now the holidays I've got exams coming up the second week we get back. In other news,as odd as it sounds I've become a Brony. Not quite sure how it happened, but when I saw the My little furry banner we had a while ago I went to see what all the hype is about and got hooked. I like the show but I've found that I'm far more interested in all of the fan ideas about it. Things like the lunar republic and the battle between twilight and trixie. There are certainly some parts of the show I dislike, eg. some of the songs, though I understand at least one of them is meant to be bad on purpose, and the same goes for the fan ideas, mainly the ones involving Gilda.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is don't be surprised if you seem some pony related stories cropping up around here, It's actually a pretty damn good show with a nice sense of humour that, though in some cases kiddy, is generally good for a laugh. The characters are well developed, and behave like actual people would, along with exploring some interesting concepts.
Thats pretty much all I have to say despite being so quiet lately, there's also a My Little Pony fighting game being made and i can't wait for it, the game looks great and has some pretty good music so far, but its probably still gonna take a long time before it's beta comes out yet.

Stranger in a strange land
Posted 14 years agoA meme I found tonin using and, being me, decided to quickly nab it to post as a journal, since I would much prefer writing a journal meme thing than writing homework.
Ok, so here is what you gotta do:

2. For each question, press the next button to get your next answer.
3. You must write that song name down (no matter how outrageous it sounds!).
IF SOMEONE SAYS, “IS THIS OKAY?”, YOU SAY...

Posted 14 years agoSorry about the whole semester of absence, school has been doing its best job of crushing my will to live and homework has prevented me from much else. It's the holidays now buy I've still got more work to do, namely a 12,000 word essay on the similarities between of themes and techniques between two books. I am still roaming FA and once i get a handle on things I'll get back to here more frequently. For now however I'm going to be spending a fair bit of my holidays realizing that for me, School+Home=Holidays=work
!!!WARNING!!! Rankings ahead
Posted 14 years agoI was checking how many submissions I had made and then I compared it to my pageviews, From that I decided to construct this list of where people stand (In amount of pageviews vs submissions).
#1
Rain-ine 97 Pageviews per submission
#2
Palehorse73 41 Pageviews per submission
#3
Leon42 40 Pageviews per submission
#4
krazehness 16 Pageviews per submission
#5
Tonin 14 Pageviews Per submission
#6
systematicweasel 13 Pageviews per submission
#7
Caberea 9 Pageviews per submission
This got me thinking about what made these pageviews per submission change around, I checked through submissions and quickly found they were no indication whatsoever of these stats. The main reason I noticed this was the Palehorse73 had only around 16 submissions, yet ranks second on these statistics.
As a result I consulted watch lists. This also got me nowhere since Palehorse73 has 24 watchers as opposed to Krazehness's 119.
These statistics have led to me asking only one question to anyone reading this: can you figure out what makes for a high pageviews per submission?

Mrah!
Posted 14 years agoSchool is coming, oh noes. The realization occured to me when I found my new school books and the ones were reading for english this year ("lord of the flies" and "to kill a mockingbird") had arrived. There is some stuff I'm looking forward to since now that I'm in year 10 I've been able to slightly specify what lessons I want to do (eg. I can actually decide what kind of technology I am doing) so hopefully this year is better than the last two have been. I was a bit cheaty with the game I made earlier as we have at least a whole term focused on using the game maker I used to make it. Hopefully that should be an easy A for me but you never can tell (especially not in my case). I'm also technically going to be repeating maths this year as i was in the advanced mathmatics class for the past two years, and at my school that really just means you skip year 9 and go straight to year 10. So (since at my school we have middle school then high school) this is technically my first year of high school so forgive me if I'm absent for a while.
P.S. There's still approximately two weeks before school starts up again but ,since my sleeping habits have practially become nocturnal, thats going to be hard. By the way PH, you were right about a shortened lifespan on bugs, especially when theres a fly-swater involved >:3

Oh how happy and tired i am.

This has been a typecast thingy from the now officially sleep deprived and unofficially insane Caberea.
This is 1/2 your fault pride, and 1/2 your fault stupidity!
Posted 14 years agoSo of course when I saw this I had to go and do it. Keep in mind that I wont give away anything too personal. Before anyone asks anything like why I did it, read the title of the journal.
Got this challenge thing from
systematicweasel
Few artists are man/woman enough to openly answer any and all questions thrown at them. Are you? Prove it. Copy/Paste this as a new journal entry and answer every question you get.
The rules are simple:
-You must answer every question you get no matter what it's about and you must do so honestly.
-There are no questions that can not be asked as long as they are within reason. They can be personal, about oc's, and every thing inbetween.
Think of it as a truth or dare of sorts, only without the dare option.

Happy new year.
Posted 14 years agoIts the new year over here (it occured to me I should have posted this when it actually turned new years), and it seems that my Journal comments section has gotten screwed up as well. Apparently I am three different people. One of which is me, the other is someone called damiean, and the third is a dragon loving gal by the name of creoste. Just me doing a bit of a questioning rant about whats happening to me account as these all said that the comment or journal it was posted on was deleted (previously). Now I'm starting to wonder if they didnt actually get a notification of the reply...
This is a bit screwed up.
Posted 14 years agoNot really a proper journal post but more an observation. I think the attack on FA may have screwed up my stats a bit. I just checked my stats on my poems and found that I had a poem with 1 view, however it had 2 favourites and a comment. Does anyone know how this is possible or if they have had something like that happen to them?
P.S.
I finished a review on sonic colours so check my previous journals for that review.

Sonic Colours
Posted 14 years agoBeen 4 days since I got it and I've just finished Sonic Colours. Its a short time but I havent actually played many of my other games and haven't had to do much else.
Storyline: 3.5/10
Quite simply put, Sonic games arent particularly known for an engaging storyline and the story tends to generally be just a reason to go about bashing up bad guys or running around a course at massive speeds. Therefore its only natural that the storyline in this game is basic at best. If you've ever seen the T.V series or played a few of the sonic games before then youll already know the basic storyline. Eggman A.K.A Dr. Robitink (though he hasn't been called that for ages) is using some kind of animal (in this case, aliens called wisps) in order to put together a machine to take over sonics world, Therefore sonic has to stop him. Just about everyones played through that scenario a couple of times but as I said before, its just an excuse to beat up baddies.
Graphics: 8.5/10
The graphics on this game are stunning. You really get a sense of running around a massive field and when you start to boost, the blur effects are just right so as to make it seem you're going super fast yet not so blurred as to make it impossible to see where you're going. Even though the actual size of each level is quite small, the graphics are so well done that the place seems huge, and you get the feeling that if you werent playing as sonic it would take ages to get through them.
Sound: 8/10
This sonic game has one of the best fitting soundtracks out of all of them as far as I know. The music sounds like a sonic game just like it plays like a sonic game. Every power-up/wisp you use in the game has its own fitting soundtrack which will loop around until you finish it (though I got really annoyed by the soundtrack for the "Hover wisp").
Gameplay: 9/10
This game is all about the gameplay. You'll find yourself flying though some of the courses at massive speeds, chaining attack into enemies so smoothly it seems scripted, or blasting through obstacles with power-ups as if you had known it was there all along. The enemies on here do seem rather weak and a bit samey but they begin to get unique and powerful abilities (eg. An enemy which destroys platforms which it created when you go to jump on them) later on in the game. The one major flaw in this game is that in order to have that sonic feel to it you will find youself having to often make a wild leap of faith and hope that you made the correct choice. Fortunately there are a fair amount of checkpoints in the game and (even though you start out with a low amount of lives) you can easily avoid a game over screen by smashing up your score via jumps and the boost button (to perform a mid air slide attack). Doing this will often result in an extra life popping out of one of the numbers you hit.
There is plenty of replay value in this game with five Red Star Coins, hidden in each level. Collecting these coins will unlock new things in the game, but most of them are cosmetic (I collected 30 stars in my run on it and unlocked the ability to play as a Mii in the multiplayer levels). You can also run a challenge mode of an area to try and get the best time you can. There is also a ranking system with an insanely hard to get S rank which is very tempting to keep trying to get.
Bosses: 6/10
Though most reviews don't contain a part about the bosses of a game, I always think it is important for a game to have good bosses or some sort of particularly challenging part to it.
In sonic colours the bosses provide quite a challenge but most of them only take 3 hits to take down (a couple take 6 and the final boss takes 8). Each time you score a hit on the boss they get progressively harder to kill making it both more challenging but a lot more annoying if you screw up. Due to the fact that (like with all sonic games) you lose all you rings when you get hit, but only 20 appear for you to collect, you will find yourself dying quickly the first time you take on a boss. The bosses are quite inventive, however it is dissapointing in a way because bosses 4-6 are only slightly stronger versions of bosses 1-3. The final boss is very clever as it uses corrupted versions of all of your powerups. The ending is a bit disappoiting as you expect a rather a lot harder fight at the end but I actually found the 6th boss (depending on which order it is done in. In my case the 6th boss was the submarine pirate) the hardest.
Overall: 7/10
Not too shabby a game considering some of the sonic games that have come out. This game will but together some of the great 2D elements of the early sonic games with the new speed and graphics of the newer games. The combat system is fun and all the power-ups are useful. The main flaws in the game are repetitive designs and a required trust that the game will guide you to a safe landing.
I played the Wii version of the game (not sure if theres any other platforms for it but I'll always put which console I played the game on)
Storyline: 3.5/10

Merry Christmas and etcetera
Posted 14 years agoI had a good christmas and got a good haul of stuff. Nothing that was of special mention although I did get the latest expansion of the Sims 3 (which I've been really into lately) I've been playing that for a fair bit and all of a sudden had an idea. From here on out I'll be writing journal reviews for games which I have played. Both good and bad games i have played will be reviewed but most of the games will be fairly recent (though there will be some which are a bit old).
So I hope everone out there had a good Christmas (or whatever they celebrate) and that the next year is a great one for you.

You have 600 new messages
Posted 14 years agoAt precisely 10:49:52 PM here in Australia I had the 600th new message arrive on my notifications. I'm aware that a good deal of those are comments from people and I just want to say thanks to all of those out there for reading my poetry. I'm not going to get all sentimental and stuff but it feels good to know that there are people out there that actually read and like the poetry I make.
P.S. I'm aware that 600 messages isnt that much and you guys probably have much more but for me its pretty much a milestone. Sorta like a feeling that I'm part of the FA community now and not just a passerby.

Freedom!
Posted 15 years agoExams are finally over and after all of the studying I've got around 7 weeks to do whatever the heck i want. First of which shall be checking why the submission list has experienced exponential growth. But before that, sleeping in a whole day to catch up for the sleep i missed thanks to exams.
Congratulations on your game, now start studying for exams.
Posted 15 years agoSo I have finished making the game, the due date has come and I have handed it up. Unfortunately at my school we have exams every year and so I've had to go straight from working on the game to working on studying. I hope someday I'll get time off school to look at all of those I'm watching's new submissions, in particular
tonin's 40 (or thereabouts) page long story.

I've finally done it
Posted 15 years agoAfter a good 4 weeks of doing nothing but work (sadly this included most of the holidays) I have finally finished the creation of my game. This means that I will now be taking the time to look through the stacked up days of submissions, which I can already see is going to take a while, and if anyone wishes to play this game then you can email me (Rugothia@hotmail.com for those who havent read my previous journal) and I will send the game maker installationg (required to play) along with the game...If all of that can fit on an email...Which I just found that it can only attach the game. So you will need to download a copy http://wiki.yoyogames.com/index.php.....Maker_Versions to play the game with what it was made with. you can download game maker 8 if you wish but that may make the game run slowly or prevent you from running it all together. I hope you enjoy it.
Warning you in advance.
Posted 15 years agoIf people have read the last Journal i posted then you may be asking the question: "What could kind of homework could take all holidays to do?" Well the answer is quite simple, A game. For school I have had to make a game in 6 weeks starting from the beginning of the holidays. If that werent hard enough we have to do a journal recording each and every problem we have while making it and even after that we have to write about what stuff we have learned and such.
However on a more positive note its been around 2 weeks since i started work on the game and its already finished. That dosent mean the game is absolute rubbish but I didn't do much on the graphical aspect of things. To run this game you will need game maker 7 (I think it works on game maker 8 but im not sure) Just email me at Rugothia[at]hotmail.com if you want to play it.
(It is quite short yet I tried to make it intricate and the enemy combinations can be quite powerful). Any and all feedback on it will be welcome.
P.S.
I havent finished the game this is just so that people know about it before it happens.
