Hey all,
I need to restart my life at a new place and I need help.
As some of you might know I am currently living in Ukraine with my grandma and mom. Six year ago my grandmother got a cerebral stroke, after which she became totally different person and needed care. To help my mother, I stayed to provide both caregiving and financial aid, but dealing with someone who only gives negativity and takes more and more of your time and nerves is hard.
And so the stress began to accumulate. At first it wasn’t so bad, but year after year my own health has deteriorated. It began to affect my drawing, and art that I was finish in 1 day started to take 2-3 days. Stress due to my family situation added to fears of the resulting delays in commissions led to 2 surgeries for me in the last 2 years. I’m really grateful that you all supported me during those times and will definitely do my best to fulfill ideas that were entrusted to me.
Then the war started in the 2022, adding oil in the flame. My mother started to have problems with work, leaving me the sole provider for bill, food and other necessities. As of 2 months ago my sister, who had lived separately from us for 14 years and has two kids, one with special needs, sought shelter. I don’t have good relationships with her but as she was without a place to go we took her in. As a result my budget started to fall apart. This, in turn, has wrecked my already struggling budget, as I'm left trying to afford the bills for six people, in a home meant for far less, until my sister was able to find job.
Finally she got a job money, and then it turned out so I suddenly find myself no longer needed and the target of family drama and harassment, on top of being in a crowded, noisy, toxic household. Unfortunately, this is leading to enough stress and household drama that I am unable to sleep. Lack of sleep is leading to my inability to draw. My inability to draw means I can't earn an income. The lack of income leads to stress that prevents me from sleeping, so on. The downward spiral continues and it's not good, to say the least.
My mental state is quite unstable and I am afraid that this current situation could lead to irreversible consequences. It seems like the best way to deal with current situation is to leave this place that I can’t call home anymore.
So, I need to rent a studio apartment to move out and get my life back in line. I need $500-600 USD a month; this would cover all of my bills, rent, food and other necessary spending, plus give me a small buffer. This is something I can accomplish once I get settled.
For me, to be able to move out on my own though, I'm gonna need a chunk of cash up front. My goal is $1,500-1,800 USD. This gives me enough to move out, get a place, and have at least 3 months worth of bills covered. I hate to have to ask for it with nothing really to offer in return, but I'm going to get back to work on drawing and design. This is the point of this life change. So I can only offer detailed commission slots in advance and try to reach my goal with as fast and with as few orders as it possible. You can change the idea or character or even exchange for several smaller commissions, but unfortunately there will be some time delay while I make this transition. Hello. It's been quite a while.
The last half of the year were quite challenging and a lot of negative events happened that took a massive toll on my mental health, to the point where I am currently looking for the therapy. On top of constant stress due to loved ones being in Ukraine (I've emigrated last year just on the day when the war broke), I've been dealing with massive mental problems, that's been boiling in me for years since my grandma's diagnose with cancer and her horrible passing. The chain of tragedies since then mentally broke me apart and I am no longer a person I've used to be 5 years ago. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, I've been separated from my family and haven't seen neither my mom, my other grandma and brother with niece in 1.5 years. If not the kindness and patience of my boyfriend and his wonderful family, it could been a complete ruin.
Then the summer hit, and do it got so much worse. Kachovka's dam cynical explosion absolutely broke my heart apart, and things were not easy since. My brother's apartment suffered via the shockwave, so he had to replace the windows and the doors. Thankfully, his family was away by that time. But this event made my fears feel even so real. And then.. My friend's boyfriend drowned, in a horrible tragic accident, my friend's life completely turned upside down with no bright future whatsoever, and I lost someone i personally knew, met and interacted with. And I was too far to be with my friend in this horrible moment.
Since then, I've had a dark period that I am not proud of and the way I've acted towards the people I love so deeply. I couldn't talk to my closest ones, I've closed up and been simply crying for days. So I had to took myself together. Currently, I'm looking for a manual work to get my head in order and integrate into the absolutely new society for me. It's not smooth and I've been rejected already on my recent interview, and while I wait with anxiety I do my commissions. I'm really sorry they are going so slow - the creativity part of mine got affected the most by all the stress endured during this few months.

The complexity of the situation lies in the fact that my medical insurance has expired (I can't renew it at the moment of treatment), which has resulted in financial difficulties for me. Thank you guys for little help with teeth, I'm feeling better now. But doctor said that I need dental braces because crowding of teeth, which I have now after surgery with removing wisdom tooth.
The cheapest braces costs 550-600$, so I need money for it (thanks god, It's not urgent, I'm still have a lot of time before putting braces).
But it's not really matter for me, I need antidepressants for now, because depression killed everything in me, I can't even doing simple tasks, drawing is started to be a very hard challenge, but I'm trying my best.
And my mother lost her job, so I need to help my family to survive...

At the moment I live in occupied territory of Ukraine and I'm in a difficult situation.
In the frontline city where I am located, there is active fighting, constant shelling and destruction.
In such conditions, there is practically no work in the city and my psyche is in constant stress.
I want to go to Europe and I need to have some money for that.
I also need information on how to leave the country.
Since my city is under the control of the Russian Federation, I will have to leave through this country.
I am a trans person. But according to my passport I am a man of draft age and exit from the country for me is limited.
If anyone has information about how I can leave the Russian Federation and seek asylum in the United Kingdom, I would be very grateful.
I would also be very grateful if you could take commission from me. It will help me to raise money for moving and also to buy equipment (tablet) so that I can draw even on the road and without a computer.

Heyo and happy holidays! I wanted to start this journal by calculating how much money I have left to pay for my mother’s operation, but the reality is that I am still VERY far from the required amount, and in addition to this operation, I also buy her mandatory medications for ~7 thousand hryvnia (~$186) every month, and even for the second month in a row I can’t pay even a penny for apartment utility bills; by the end of the month I’m simply below low.
But the good news is that I have already drawn all the purchased YCHs slots, trying and working/drawing a lot! (there is only one comm and an order from Patreon left in my to-do)

At the moment, I myself am below low, seeing how empty my list of drawing debts is, very bad thoughts begin to roll over me, and I once again realize that I have entered into a cycle of work-sleep-work-sleep, which allows me to forget about depression and poverty, and as soon as I miss a day due to poor health, I begin to panic, as if the house of cards from my weekdays begins to tremble and crumble on me. I am writing this journal at a time of very bad thoughts, because I hate this silence, I want to give a voice, to remind that I am still here and I am still trying. My plans for the coming days are to brainstorm plots for new YCHs, to draw sketch-references for my old characters that I want to sell, and also, I hope, someone will be interested and order at least a sketch or two from me, and I will immediately start drawing and I'll perk up a little.

1) for locals (people in/from the same region of Ukraine)
-- 'Signal boost' this Journal or write your own version of it (you may use anything from this one); Write a Journal with your own personal experiences (there are people who can help with English and editing); Draw art about your town/city/region; Contact other people on the list; Watch them; Give them 'emotional support' (nice comments) & 'signal boosts' when they need help; Look for people from your area that 'go dark' (stop posting art/Journals and no new 'favorites') and check on them; Organize; If you've fled somewhere safer then provide support to the people who remained in the area; Promoting ('signal boosting') the needs of others from your region helps remind people of your own suffering and needs; Give the situation publicity, do not be silent; Draw an artwork about your region/town/city; See this regarding psychological help; See my 'mental health' Journal; See Links of interest to Ukrainians, & any who wish to help.
2) for Ukrainians 🇺🇦
-- See the 'locals' suggestions above; If you are from a safer region of Ukraine (e.g. central or western) then PLEASE HELP those artists/furries from the regions that are under attack, are near the 'front lines' or are destroyed/occupied (I have noticed some people from Kharkiv/Donbass/southern Ukraine feel forgotten or abandoned), even if all you can do is offer nice comments and 'signal boosts' or draw 'gift art'; Occasionally search to see if new Ukrainian artists are posting on FA; Direct new Ukrainian artists/furries to the appropriate support Journals where they can get attention/assistance/help (one example is the big support Journal); Look for friends & allies (wherever you can find them) and be sure to thank them; Avoid blaming large groups or whole countries, hold individual people accountable for their own actions or inaction; Read The Art of War (a roughly 5th century BC strategy book by Sun Tzu), it is still relevant (even if you are not a soldier); Draw patriotic or peace-themed artwork.
2b) for Ukrainian refugees (in Europe, North America, Israel, CIS countries, and elsewhere)
-- See the 'locals' & 'Ukrainians' suggestions above; write a FA Journal about resources available to Ukrainian refugees in the country you have fled to (yes this includes 🇷🇺, for those who went there willingly or unwillingly or did not have any other reasonable option); see this Journal; Get a job & work hard (or do as many adopts/commissions/YCHs as you can); Support other Ukrainians who have fled to the same country or who remained in Ukraine/Crimea/LPR/DPR/any other new PR. Help find psychological/psychiatric care for those still in the country; Have a conversation with someone in a 'danger area' (it can help distract and relax); Do language practice with those still in Ukraine; See these suggestions.
3) for Russians 🇷🇺 & Russians and Belarusians 🇧🇾
-- I am not even going to list the first few suggestions because you are probably tired of reading/hearing them and/or some may be against your personal ethics; Stop watching TV; Research alternate news sources; Learn for yourself about what is happening; Fact check & be aware of misinformation and disinformation; Look at the Journals and artworks of the Ukrainian artists on these lists, but do not Comment on them unless you have something positive/supportive to say; Avoid 'whataboutism' and 'call out' those who use it; If you do not approve of what is happening, then do not live in terror of your own government, decide what you are willing to do and do it; Click here; 'Signal boost'; Do art-trades with Ukrainian artists, especially with lower skilled or less popular Ukrainian artists who need attention and watchers (if your government bans art-trades, see the first item in this list); Write about the situation (if you are too afraid to speak/write openly, then give it to a Ukrainian or international friend or to parliamentaryrusfurrs to post in a Journal or artwork for you); If you are good with English (or another language), help a Russian-speaking Ukrainian who is not good with English to tell their story by helping translate/edit (post a Comment below if you are willing to help translate); Draw peace-themed artwork; Use one or more of these characters/emojis ☮🕊️☮️; Put the https://www.furaffinity.net/user/peacefurs icon on your Profile page; Complain if your children or friends are conscripted/drafted (see this); Don't sign a military contract; If your friends talk about signing a military contract - ask them... why?; If you live in Crimea -- leave before they start conscripting/drafting; If conscripted then refuse to serve <or> refuse to serve in a combat role <or> refuse to serve in a combat role outside of Russia; Do not allow yourself to be placed in a situation where you have these behind you; An anti-war Russian recommended watching these YouTube videos 1 2; Search for some pro-Putin artwork on FA; See this by whisperingstone; Look at what a few other Russians did: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 (tell me if you want to be removed or to have a link to your profile/art/journal added; this was just a small sample since I have counted over 111 Russian FA accounts who have expressed either "no war" sentiments or compassion/support for Ukrainian artists who are suffering or both); If you need aid/help to leave Russia, ask for help.
4) for everyone else (international people)
-- Stand with Ukraine; Learn more about Ukraine; Learn more about Donbass; Send donations to reputable organizations, click here for links; Occasionally check the big support Journal); Occasionally search; Watch Ukrainian artists; Give them 'Faves'; Give them 'moral support' (nice comments) & 'signal boosts' (links to their FA accounts and their Journals and/or Postings that describe their situation) when they need help; Order commissions; Send donations to artists/furries in need; Sign up as a $1 or $3/month patron on one Ukrainian artist's Patreon (is that too much to ask?) -- A SPECIAL REQUEST: It would be great if people who are now safe and able to provide assistance would help find psychologists and psychotherapists for Ukrainians who need psychological support; the free psychological lines are under a lot of pressure and they can only help superficially, but the people living in the occupied territory don't know what to do at all since there is no normal psychological/psychiatric care available there.

I'm tired of this war and poverty. my asset on all social networks has dropped to 0, I put very small prices for drawings, but they still don't buy them, I'm stuck in artblock and procrastination, and all that makes my mind move is my parents who need help and support for their child. I am so far away from my home, from my loved ones, that it seems as if I am left alone on this planet. my family is torn apart all over the planet. I see my parents only in a paper photo that stands next to my monitor. I want to be happy so much, despite my psychological traumas, panic attacks and anxiety that I experience in dreams where I dream that I am in the epicenter of war, people are screaming, and bomb explosions and the whistle of rockets are heard everywhere. there are a lot of dead homeless animals, abandoned children, poverty and devastation. that's what my homeland has become over so many years of war. I want everyone to hear about how terrible any wars between people are. I just hope that one day I will return to my native home in Ukraine, and my parents will be so close that I will even be able to hug and comfort them. Why do I need all this? for what all this is to all of us. I am still in Crimea, where, despite my bitter fate, I continue to help homeless animals and wild dolphins of the Black Sea free of charge. One day I will get out of this hell. soon the autumn depression will begin caused by exacerbations of my mental illness. I'm not sure that anyone will read this magazine, I just want to speak out, it's like my personal diary, which can be read by anyone who cares about how the fate of an ordinary refugee from Ukraine develops. It's been almost a year since my native street was shelled and destroyed, and my grandfather's grave, which no one visits, has been overgrown for a whole year. I have several diagnoses, but the most severe and incurable of them are post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder. it's not curable, and I have to take a bunch of pills so that I can exist, and so that I have the strength to write such messages without shedding a bunch of tears. I wish everyone peace, and that the war ends. that's it.

Hey all,
I need to restart my life at a new place and I need help.
As some of you might know I am currently living in Ukraine with my grandma and mom. Six year ago my grandmother got a cerebral stroke, after which she became totally different person and needed care. To help my mother, I stayed to provide both caregiving and financial aid, but dealing with someone who only gives negativity and takes more and more of your time and nerves is hard.
And so the stress began to accumulate. At first it wasn’t so bad, but year after year my own health has deteriorated. It began to affect my drawing, and art that I was finish in 1 day started to take 2-3 days. Stress due to my family situation added to fears of the resulting delays in commissions led to 2 surgeries for me in the last 2 years. I’m really grateful that you all supported me during those times and will definitely do my best to fulfill ideas that were entrusted to me.
Then the war started in the 2022, adding oil in the flame. My mother started to have problems with work, leaving me the sole provider for bill, food and other necessities. As of 2 months ago my sister, who had lived separately from us for 14 years and has two kids, one with special needs, sought shelter. I don’t have good relationships with her but as she was without a place to go we took her in. As a result my budget started to fall apart. This, in turn, has wrecked my already struggling budget, as I'm left trying to afford the bills for six people, in a home meant for far less, until my sister was able to find job.
Finally she got a job money, and then it turned out so I suddenly find myself no longer needed and the target of family drama and harassment, on top of being in a crowded, noisy, toxic household. Unfortunately, this is leading to enough stress and household drama that I am unable to sleep. Lack of sleep is leading to my inability to draw. My inability to draw means I can't earn an income. The lack of income leads to stress that prevents me from sleeping, so on. The downward spiral continues and it's not good, to say the least.
My mental state is quite unstable and I am afraid that this current situation could lead to irreversible consequences. It seems like the best way to deal with current situation is to leave this place that I can’t call home anymore.
So, I need to rent a studio apartment to move out and get my life back in line. I need $500-600 USD a month; this would cover all of my bills, rent, food and other necessary spending, plus give me a small buffer. This is something I can accomplish once I get settled.
For me, to be able to move out on my own though, I'm gonna need a chunk of cash up front. My goal is $1,500-1,800 USD. This gives me enough to move out, get a place, and have at least 3 months worth of bills covered. I hate to have to ask for it with nothing really to offer in return, but I'm going to get back to work on drawing and design. This is the point of this life change. So I can only offer detailed commission slots in advance and try to reach my goal with as fast and with as few orders as it possible. Hello. It's been quite a while.
The last half of the year were quite challenging and a lot of negative events happened that took a massive toll on my mental health, to the point where I am currently looking for the therapy. On top of constant stress due to loved ones being in Ukraine (I've emigrated last year just on the day when the war broke), I've been dealing with massive mental problems, that's been boiling in me for years since my grandma's diagnose with cancer and her horrible passing. The chain of tragedies since then mentally broke me apart and I am no longer a person I've used to be 5 years ago. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, I've been separated from my family and haven't seen neither my mom, my other grandma and brother with niece in 1.5 years. If not the kindness and patience of my boyfriend and his wonderful family, it could been a complete ruin.
Then the summer hit, and do it got so much worse. Kachovka's dam cynical explosion absolutely broke my heart apart, and things were not easy since. My brother's apartment suffered via the shockwave, so he had to replace the windows and the doors. Thankfully, his family was away by that time. But this event made my fears feel even so real. And then.. My friend's boyfriend drowned, in a horrible tragic accident, my friend's life completely turned upside down with no bright future whatsoever, and I lost someone i personally knew, met and interacted with. And I was too far to be with my friend in this horrible moment.
Since then, I've had a dark period that I am not proud of and the way I've acted towards the people I love so deeply. I couldn't talk to my closest ones, I've closed up and been simply crying for days. So I had to took myself together. Currently, I'm looking for a manual work to get my head in order and integrate into the absolutely new society for me. It's not smooth and I've been rejected already on my recent interview, and while I wait with anxiety I do my commissions. I'm really sorry they are going so slow - the creativity part of mine got affected the most by all the stress endured during this few months.

Thank you guys for little help with teeth, I'm feeling better now. But doctor said that I need dental braces because crowding of teeth, which I have now after surgery with removing wisdom tooth.

I've been doing well enough lately, that's what I thought. It seemed like I had solved all the little troubles recently, had almost finished all the pictures from the art queue, as well as some of mine, even had some volunteer work irl for a while. But suddenly life decided to be unkind again.
Straight to the point: my family is in trouble, and by the end of the month we need a huge pile of money so that things don't get much worse. They will do what they can, but I have to do something too, because otherwise the consequences will be bad for me as well. From my part I must contribute approximately at least 800 eur, and do that before the end of this month (the end of October 2023, that is). Heyo and happy holidays! This wasn't one of the big headline-making Russian missile attacks on Ukraine that kill a dozen civilians and injure dozens more, but it did appear in the news when I searched for it, and over 24 hours later it was becoming easier to find the Chernihiv missile strike mentioned -- Ukraine's President Zelensky even mentioned the deaths of two women in a Russian missile attack on Chernihiv in his 21-July-2023 video address. I thought that if anyone was skeptical it would be good to include the news reporting of the event (see below). For each of the headline making events like a missile hitting a shopping center or apartment building or busy cafe, there are probably dozens of these 'everyday' events where only one or two people are injured or killed that barely get mentioned in the news. There are just under a million people in Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine, and only two casualties seems 'small', however in this case one of the two victims turned out to be the mother of a FA member (and an artist that I support on Patreon). Sometimes the world is a small place.

How can we help civilians on BOTH banks of the Dnipro???
Posted 2 years agoThere are many Journals and several Artworks here on FA that include information about how we can help people in Ukraine on the right (west, Ukrainian controlled) bank of the currently flooded lower Dnipro river, but I have not seen any specific information about what we can do to help civilians who live on the left (east, Russian controlled) bank of the lower Dnipro whose homes have been flooded by the breaching of the dam at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP) and the draining of the Kakhovka reservoir.
If any Russian artists/furries have been posting Journals or art on FA about helping the victims of the flooding on the Russian-controlled side of the lower Dnipro, please post a Comment with links to them. (only links to FA please, not other social media)

Major breach of Ukrainian🇺🇦 dam!!! 🌊flooding🌊
Posted 2 years agoFor anyone who is not following the news, a very large dam on the Dnipro river in southern Ukraine, the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP) dam, has suffered a major breach. I will avoid assigning a cause until there has been some time for investigations, I know the truth will come out eventually and I can patiently wait for responsibility to be assigned. However, we cannot be patient about helping those civilians in IMMEDIATE NEED who are affected by the flooding on BOTH banks of the lower Dnipro river!!!

Ukrainian tennis player 🇺🇦Elina Svitolina🇺🇦 called her opponent Sunday, Russian 🇷🇺Daria Kasatkina🇷🇺, a "brave one" for her public comments on Moscow's war in Ukraine.
🇺🇦Svitolina🇺🇦 has proclaimed she will not shake hands with Russian and Belarusian opponents out of respect for the men and women defending Ukraine on the front lines. But she told reporters she "acknowledged" 🇷🇺Kasatkina🇷🇺 after the Ukrainian's upset win Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Ukrainian air defense was confirmed to be active in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava and Odesa regions, according to officials.
The missile attacks have caused power interruptions and blackouts across western, eastern and southern regions of Ukraine (according to the state energy company). see CNN

11 months of 🇷🇺war🇺🇦
Posted 2 years agoToday marks 11 months since the Russian army began a full scale invasion of Ukraine, with an attempt to take the capital of Kyiv, as well as the Donbass & Kharkov in the east, Sumy and Chernihiv in the northeast and the entire sea coast in the south. Since then the Russian "special military operation" has brought suffering to people in both Ukraine and Russia, as well as many others around the world who have felt the indirect effects of the conflict, such as higher prices for food and energy.
I am currently moving to a new place, so I do not have time to write a full update now but my move is planned and going smoothly, unlike some people in Ukraine...

Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-run energy operator, has said Thursday's Russian missile strikes resulted in “substantial damage” to the power grid. Russia launched 70 missiles at Ukraine on Thursday, 47 of which were intercepted, the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its daily operational update on Facebook, and Moscow's forces also carried out 44 airstrikes, including 18 using Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones. Several of Ukraine’s regions have to implement emergency power cuts because of outages caused by Russia’s wave of attacks on Thursday, Ukrainian state news channel Suspilne reported. [from CNBC here]
Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-run energy operator, said that Ukraine had now suffered 13 missile attacks and 15 drone attacks on its energy facilities. [from here]

Yet another wave of 🇷🇺 missiles (Dnipro tragedy)
Posted 2 years agoYesterday (Saturday, January 14th) the Russian🇷🇺 military launched yet another large-scale missile attack against Ukraine🇺🇦, the first such mass missile attack since around New Year's eve/day but part of a Russian military campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure that started back on October 10. Some of the missiles used were apparently old Soviet-era Kh-22 supersonic anti-ship missiles whose speed can evade Ukraine's missile defenses but are not designed for attacking cities (instead of ships on the open ocean) and are very inaccurate for hitting specific buildings in a city, leading to another tragedy similar to the tragedy in a shopping mall in Kremenchuk, Ukraine🇺🇦 on 27 June 2022 but this time hitting an occupied apartment building in the large city of Dnipro, Ukraine🇺🇦. About 1,700 people lived in the nine-story building and the total number of casualties was not clear in the initial reports because the middle half of the apartment building collapsed, but by 17 January there are 45 dead including six children,15 of the bodies are still unidentified, at least 79 people are wounded including 14 children, and 20 were still missing and possibly buried under the debris/rubble. Rescuers have removed 8,500 metric tons of debris from the site. The Dnipro apartment attack has orphaned 5 children. It was the deadliest single attack on Ukrainian civilians since summer 2022, according to The Associated Press-Frontline War Crimes Watch project, although over 7,000 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since Russia invaded in February 2022, according to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (and those are just the well documented deaths, the actual toll is likely far higher). Repeated attacks with inaccurate anti-ship missiles in urban areas seem deliberately cruel rather than just careless, inept, or indifferent to civilian casualties.

Well, I can finally sit down and write down what happened.
On January 14, 2023, my city was attacked by a Russian X-22 missile. Entering a residential building. In a house where there were a lot of people, where people celebrated a holiday or just rested on their day off. I heard it. I saw. I was there. I will not forgive.
As soon as the explosion sounded, I called an ambulance and said what I saw, because it could be said for sure that the rocket hit a place where there was nothing but ordinary residential buildings.
I went to that house to find out what was there and how. Help, maybe.
When I arrived, I did not expect to see THIS. There is a hole in the house and there are no two entrances.
There was just chaos, a bunch of people under the rubble, from which cries for help can be heard. It was heard how people tried to shout to their relatives, but there was no answer. Jackets, children's toys, furniture were scattered.
I approached and asked what I could do with one of the rescuers. I was asked to calm the old people and stay with them if they feel bad. I saw how a man with a completely bloodied back was pulled out from under the rubble. I saw severed body parts. A couple of women and one child, who were taken away in a serious condition.
I stood with one grandfather, who didn’t get so hard and he was waiting for his wife to be found. I don’t know how I should have remained cool and with a sober head when grandfather stood in front of me, who caught the Second World War and now stands with a bloodied hand, worrying about his wife. Thankfully, she was found. She miraculously survived. When the old people felt a little better and their relatives took them, I asked if they needed something else. But due to the fact that I did not have a medical education, my maximum was just to buy water and leave, so as not to create unnecessary chaos and crowds. I bought water for 0.5 (how much I had in my pocket - I spent so much) and went home so as not to interfere with the professionals.
A couple of times I came again, but there were already hundreds of people who helped and waited for instructions.
At the moment, 76 wounded and 14 killed are known.
After that, do you still think about loyalty to Russia and their people? Look at the photos from my city, from all over Ukraine.

Commercial transactions do not work for Ukrainian PayPal accounts so they cannot send invoices or receive payments on Ko-Fi or using FA Shinies since these are considered commercial transactions. Purchase protection is not available, since that is only for commercial transactions. A Ukrainian PayPal account is easily identifiable because the only option will be "Sending to a friend" and the currency options will be limited to these four [CAD, EUR, GBP, USD] <this may vary based on the sender's country>. Also, unlike most international 'to a friend' payments on PayPal, there is no extra charge to the sender if the recipient has a Ukrainian PayPal, which makes PayPal a fairly efficient way to sent money to Ukraine. Russian PayPal accounts stopped working on 5 March 2022.
FA Shinies (a PayPal commercial transaction): Trying to use the FA 'Shinies' tip feature will only work if the artist has entered a non-Ukrainian (and non-Russian) PayPal account on their FA Shinies setup page. A Ukrainian PayPal account will result in someone trying to send Shinies getting the PayPal message: "To comply with international regulations, this transaction has been declined." Note that because FA Shinies are processed as a commercial transaction in PayPal, the artist will receive all of the information that PayPal normally gives a seller, including the purchaser's real name (or the one that PayPal has) and PayPal email address. Some of the advantages of FA Shinies over a direct PayPal to an artist are: 1) it is an unobtrusive method for an artist to indicate that they will take tips/donations, 2) an artist does not need to provide or publicly display their PayPal email address, 3) the donor can get visible recognition (if they want) and, 4) it allows others to see that donations that have been made (which can encourage further donations). FA Shinies do not take an extra fee beyond the PayPal charges, unlike BuyMeACoffee.
(Note: You cannot see your own 'Shinies' box/prompt on your own FA page, but others can see it. I confirmed that (in the past) by enabling my own FA Shinies -- I needed to get other FA members to show me that they could see the 'Shinies' box on my FA page because I could not.)

Some may be using a friend or relative's PayPal account to help them receive money using PayPal (before the full-scale invasion it used to be common for Ukrainians to have a Russian friend who would receive PayPal payments for them, this ended when PayPal stopped working in Russia in March 2022). Note that because Ko-Fi is processed as a commercial transaction in PayPal, <I think> the artist will receive all of the information that PayPal normally gives a seller, including the purchaser's real name and PayPal email address <I need to confirm this>. The advantages of Ko-Fi over a direct PayPal to an artist are similar to FA Shinies (see above) and additionally Ko-Fi provides its own messaging/note system and notifications of new content. Ko-Fi does not take an extra fee beyond the PayPal charges, unlike BuyMeACoffee.
BuyMeACoffee: The donor can pay with a credit card or debit card. The artist will receive a notification email with the donor's BuyMeACoffee account 'nickname' (unless it is an anonymous donation) and the amount of 'Coffee' sent but the artist can find the email address the donor is using for their BuyMeACoffee account (by looking at the PC version of their BuyMeACoffee interface). Unlike PayPal, the artist will not get the donor's real name. When a non-identifying email address is used, this method is reasonably anonymous for a donor. This can be a backup to PayPal. It also allows donations that others can see (on the artist's BuyMeACoffee page) and allows for anonymous donations (the artist does get to see the donor's email address that they are using for BuyMeACoffee). BuyMeACoffee takes a fee, so this is less efficient than sending money directly to a Ukrainian PayPal account (I think BMAC takes 5% and another ~3% if the donation is with a credit card). BuyMeACoffee has at least five possible advantages: 1) donation amounts are publicly visible to everyone, 2) donors can remain mostly anonymous if they want (create a BuyMeACoffee account with a name different from FA name and use a separate email just for BuyMeACoffee), 3) a donor can use a credit or debit card without going through PayPal, 4) the artist does not need to publicly advertise their PayPal email address in order to get donations from strangers (and strangers who want to donate don't have to contact an artist to get their PayPal email address if it is not publicly displayed), 5) BuyMeACoffee will still work if someone's PayPal is temporarily unavailable.
(Note: if you are in Ukraine and have difficulty withdrawing money from BuyMeACoffee to your account/card, contact PistachioHorror or ~RIZONIK~ and they may be able to help explain how to avoid the problems.)

When someone signs up to support an artist, the artist will receive a notification with the new patron's Patreon account 'nickname' and the email address they are using for their Patreon account. Unlike PayPal, the artist will not get the donor's real name. Note that a donor can subscribe to an artist's Patreon and then after the payment has processed they can either cancel their subscription or edit the amount to the minimum for the "tier" (make sure the payment has been processed before doing this). The combination of the latter two allows someone to pay for a commission or make a one-time donation using Patreon. A disadvantage of Patreon is that the patron/supporter's payments tend to get tax added to them (I think some older Patreon accounts avoid this) <this may also vary based on the supporter's country>.

Paysend: It is an international money transfer service. I have used it a few times. It worked for me. If you use a credit card to fund the transfer you may need to contact their anti-fraud department when you make your first transaction (be prepared for this, it is not difficult but it is a nuisance). The interface is simple, the transfer speed is usually very fast, but their customer service is terrible in my experience. Paysend does not share much information with the receiver, but I have not received money so I need to check/confirm exactly what information the receiver gets about the sender. The artist needs to provide the following information, either publicly or in a Note/PM/email/etc. -- The information about the receiver that someone needs to send money directly to someone else's card using Paysend is:
- the country,
- the 16 digit card number,
- the first name & last name on the card,
- telephone number (optional, but allows Paysend to send a text message to the recipient when the transfer goes through).

Here is one report about what the receiver sees when they get money from Paysend:

From the artist's side, I think this is one of the ways that they can withdraw money from Patreon (the other is PayPal), so Patreon + Payoneer is one way an artist can get money without having a PayPal account.

Another barrage of missiles at Ukraine [29&31 Dec 2022]
Posted 2 years agoOn Thursday December 29 (day 309 of the full scale invasion) yet another wave of Russian🇷🇺 missiles* (the tenth barrage since 10 October**) was fired at Ukraine🇺🇦. Initial reports from Ukraine were that the Russian military fired over 120 missiles at Ukraine (but later updates indicate 69 missiles with Ukraine claiming to shoot down 54). The cities of Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa were reporting widespread blackouts. Yet again many Ukrainian civilians will be left without electricity and heat in freezing weather.
Those who are most affected by today's attacks probably cannot get online yet to ask for help.

Christmas eve this year (24 December 2022 in the West, but normally celebrated in January in Ukraine) marks ten full months since the Russian🇷🇺 army invaded Ukraine🇺🇦 on 24 February 2022. It has been a difficult year for many people on both sides of whatever border you prefer or choose to respect but recently it has been particularly brutal for those who are in the part of the country controlled by the intentionally recognized government based in Kyiv, with ten waves of Russian missiles and drones in the last three months attacking Ukraine's electrical power infrastructure and leaving most people in the country with frequent blackouts during the coldest and darkest time of the year. But the longest night (the winter solstice) passed a few days ago and from now until 21 June 2023 the days will get longer. You can help bring hope to those who are struggling with darkness, depression and the specter of war this Christmas by making a small donation, ordering a commission, posting a link to one of their Journals ('signal boosting'), or just leaving them a friendly Comment with holiday wishes.

HELP, ESCAPE, DONATIONS
Hi everyone! ♡
The last few months have been very chaotic and difficult. After all, there is a war going on. I now live in the occupied territory - in Donetsk. I started to engage in partisan activities, I participate in the Resistance Movement, I cannot reveal the details, I just want to write that now there is a risk to my life. I need to get out of here immediately. My comrade (he is now in russia) with the Resistance Movement and I are going to leave first for Kazakhstan (he has already been fined and repressed, and he is on the hook of the putin regime). There he will receive a passport of a foreign Ukrainian at the Ukrainian embassy (his father is Ukrainian) and after that we plan to fly to Ukraine. For now, this is the plan. We have someone to stay in Ukraine, our friends are there. But we don't have enough money for travel and rent in Kazakhstan while we're there. So I want to ask you for help too. Please help us save ourselves from putin's thugs! We will be very grateful for donations. Or at least for spreading this message. I can also draw a commission, although I do not have enough time for this now, but I will try. Another wave of missiles hits Ukraine [16 Dec 2022]
Posted 2 years agoOn Friday December 16 (day 296) another wave of Russian🇷🇺 missiles (the ninth barrage since 10 October*) was fired at Ukraine🇺🇦. From the ones that got through the air defenses and hit targets, the missiles were mostly apparently targeted at critical civilian infrastructure like electricity generation and distribution. Significant portions of the country of Ukraine🇺🇦 do not have electricity, with Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, and Kharkiv being badly affected by the attacks. Once again many Ukrainian civilians have been left without light and heat in freezing weather.

The Russian military's missile attacks on Ukraine's civilian electricity infrastructure over the last couple of months has led to many of the digital artists who are living in Ukraine to be unable to work normally due to only having electricity a few hours a day. Some artists already have equipment that allows them to work in these conditions, such as a tablet and a battery power bank or three, but others are desperately trying to adapt to having only intermittent electricity for a few hours a day for multiple days or weeks.

Individual artist's situations vary a lot. There is a significant difference between someone with 1000+ Watchers who makes all their money doing commissions, uses a desktop computer and lives in a rural area, and someone with a few Watchers who uses a tablet or laptop computer and lives in a big city that has "Invincibility Points" nearby. Individual artist's solutions to working during the blackouts or working around the blackouts may vary a lot. Some only want warm words of support or extra patience from their commissioners, while others may need a fuel-using generator or large battery system.
Please help 'boost' some of these people by posting a Journal with links to them!
