SUBMISSION DUMP @ 3PM EASTERN US [UPDATE 11:29, FINISHED!]
Posted 8 years agoGiving a heads up that I'll be doing a submission dump at 3PM. These submissions are individual photos of fursuiters at this year's Anthrocon that are part of this collage: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24175478/
Fursuiters already identified will have individual photos uploaded. If you recognize anyone in the collage that has not yet been identified, please tell me who they are and I can upload the photo of these fursuiters and share it with them!
UPDATE
I still have several more pictures to upload. It's taking a few hours to get all these pics up because of minor photo editing, typing the descriptions for each pic along with other info, copying and pasting links to the respective fursuiters' pages, and a few other things, not to mention the fact that I need to take breaks, including dinner and walking Bella, to keep me from blowing one of my own microchips. Not to worry, I am over half way through, and I'll be done uploading the ID'd fursuiters (identified as I'm editing this journal, I should say) tonight! Please, bear with me, and thank you for your pateince!
UPDATE #2
After nearly 8 and a half hours, my submission dump has ended. That being said, I still expect more of these fursuiters in this collage to be identified and have their photos posted here. Not to worry, I don't expect you'll see another wall of pics by me when you check your Submission Notifications.
Remember, if you see yourself, or someone you know, in this collage, that has yet to be identified, please tell me who it is so I can upload the individual pic(s) and share it with them!
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Anthrocon 2017, Life Updates, And Other Things
Posted 8 years agoHey, everyone.
You may have noticed that I haven't been as active here on FA as I would normally be. Not to worry. Either than certain funks I've been into lately, things are fine for me at the moment. With Anthrocon less than a week away, I thought I'd post a journal about my upcoming journey back to the Steel City for another AC weekend. But it won't just be that. I'm also gonna talk about other things in my current personal life, more new thoughts on the furry community, and a special project I've been working on for months, and am close to finished with it!
MY CURRENT LIFE
For those that haven't found out yet, at the end of April, I left my job at Stop & Shop. Somehow, I had a feeling I was gonna make that decision sooner or later. Although, I'm surprised I stayed there longer than expected, after being moved to the front end to do carriages. This job in general has been far too stressful for me to begin with. In addition, supervisors at the front end were clueless, carefree about my needs and disgust, and were just lame-duck supervisors in general. It was especially bad when it came to fueling up my PTSD. And since it didn't look like they were going to move me to a different department, or change my job at the front end any time soon, I had no other choice but to give notice and quit. I knew that had I stayed there, things aren't going to get better for me at that job.
Now, I'm reviving myself. In terms of health, I feel a lot better now than I did two months ago. I still have some recovering left to do, but by the time summer nears its end, I should feel 100% again.
As for searching for a new job, I am in a bit of a process to look for a new job, possibly in medical coding, graphic design, or an internship somewhere.
MORE THOUGHTS ON THE FURRY COMMUNITY
You may remember a journal I posted back in March about my concerns about the current state of the furry community. Here's a link to that journal below:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8147230/
Now, I feel better currently than back when I wrote that journal. That being said, I'm still skeptical about certain aspects about this community. I still prefer not to talk about it in public. Send me a note if you want to talk with me about it.
I also may start doing an investigation regarding this fur I know personally, the one I know personally that recently got into trouble, as mentioned in the journal the link above leads to.
ANTHROCON 2017 (including a panel I will be hosting!)
It's that time again! Anthrocon returns for another annual convention in Pittsburgh!
This will be my 6th time going. (Past times: 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016)
I'll be leaving for Pittsburgh early Wednesday morning, taking Southwest to Baltimore, and then to Pittsburgh. I'll be staying at the Doubletree with AC's Mr. Perfect Attendance,
anthrocoon. I leave Pittsburgh the following Monday afternoon, heading for St. Louis first, before heading back to Boston late Monday night. (It's an odd itinerary, but it was the most suitable for me due to both costs and schedule.)
The guest of honor for AC this year is voice actor, Charlie Adler, my all-time favorite voice actor! You should've seen how excited I was when he was announced as AC's GOH! I plan to have a few things signed from him when I meet him, including a Pop! figure of Ickis from AAAHH! Real Monsters.
As a sports fanatic, the convention's theme for this year, alone, fueled me to wanna go. I submitted two works of art for the conbook. It would've been more had it not been certain stressing moments.
Here's one of the submissions: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22786202/
Here's the other: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23339320/
I was notified by AC's Publications Director about "Which name do you want to have used in the conbook?" That's a sign telling me that at least one of the two submissions made it into the conbook. Now I'm uber excited to look in the conbook!
I'll be hosting a panel on the Sunday of the convention from 11AM to 12PM. It's a meet 'n' greet for fans of sports mascots! To go with the theme, "Take Me Out To The Ballgame", I thought it would be appropriate to suggest this panel for this year's AC. It'll be taking place in the Fayette Room in the Westin Hotel.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to bring any sports mascot related pictures, merch, etc., to the panel. At the end of the panel, I'll present a special announcement regarding on a project I've been working on over the past several months.
I plan to do another fursuit photo collage for AC, and post individual photos of fursuiters I'm able to identify there, just like with the previous photo collages. I may begin working on and posting the collage on the week of July 9th-15th.
To those going to AC, I want to wish all a safe and great weekend there. If you see me around, feel free to say 'Hi'.
A SPECIAL PROJECT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON LATELY
There's been a project that I've been working on lately over the past few months. It's one that I'm very excited to share with you all, and will be announced at the end of my panel at AC. The only details I can give out about this project is that, as I'm writing this journal, I am more than 90% finished with it, and that it involves sports mascots. To find out what it exactly is, come to my panel at AC, and you'll know!

Regarding the furry community (PLEASE READ!)
Posted 8 years agoAlright. I feel I really need to write this journal. I expect you all to read it, because this is something I have gotten very worried about regarding this fandom lately.
Lately, I have gotten very concerned about this community. Recent events and instances involving people in this community have made me skeptical about the future of this fandom, a fandom that has historically taken a role in being caring, being welcoming, being hard-working, sincere, kind, and generous to both within our fandom and outside of it. To see everything this fandom has worked hard to achieve, and having it all ruined would be very painful to witness, and I sincerely hope it doesn't go to that. It's no wonder certain people are leaving the fandom, or are no longer getting involved in the furry community (and seeing
musicofluie leave because of this was a nasty blow to this fandom).
Aside from drama, and other frustrating bits that have happened in this fandom, there is one recent event that I was deeply shocked and outraged to learn, and it involves someone in this fandom that I know personally too. To avoid fueling up any drama, or to attempt to hurt this fandom's reputation even more (as if this fandom doesn't have enough problems with its reputation, already), I won't mention this person's name or what this person has done. If you already know which person I'm talking about, one thing that I ask is to PLEASE, do not bring this up publicly, anywhere, as this could put this fandom in a more negative light than before.
Now, as I stated already, I am becoming very concerned about people in this community. I know not all of you are bad people. I know many of you are good, bright, motivated, and well-behaved people, and being good citizens while representing our fandom is cleaning up our image, making us look better than what we really are. However, this trend of damaging actions growing could reverse the effort of what this fandom has done to save our image. There's a saying in this fandom that applies to not only us, but to everyone else in the world...YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY.
When I started to get more involved in the furry community years back, I had zero shame, whatsoever, to represent this fandom. I've met some of the nicest people I know in this fandom, several who are well-educated, are giving, are highly welcoming. I even invited non-fur friends of mine to certain furmeets, with no worries about other furs' impressions on these friends I invited over. This was not only a community that I felt I belonged in, but a community I was actually PROUD to be part of. I couldn't have asked for anything more. However, events such as what happened with this person I know, is really making me question my association with this community in this current time. I sincerely believe we need work on being more civil, being more respectful, presenting ourselves as better people, etc., because we're much better than this. As long as we're part of this fandom, what we do is what we make of this community. This is all about responsibility.
People who know me, know that I am a good, mature, motivated, polite, and noble individual. I have a job, an education, a willingness to help, and an overall, good reputation. This reputation was EARNED from others who know me well. While not everyone who knows me knows that I'm a furry, those that do know still view me as a good human being. I have been a good example of representing the furry community, whether or not these people who know me are aware that I'm a furry.
In addition, I have a life outside of this fandom. I have other interests too. Not to mention, I have responsibilities. As passionate as I am for this fandom, I DO NOT use it as a "lifestyle". I use it as a hobby, as that's what its purpose is. There's a time and a place for everything, and I would never let this fandom take over my life. I didn't create Cyan Glaciertooth because I was extremely desperate to become an arctic wildcat. Cyan is used as a fursona mainly for hobby purposes. I'm still aware that I am a human living in real life. Remember, we are furries, but we are HUMAN BEINGS FIRST. It is our responsibility to present ourselves in an appropriate way, and use this hobby in a responsible manner.
You know I really love this fandom. This is a community I was very happy to call home. I would really hate to see this community wreck everything good about our fandom and make us look bad. My furry pride doesn't come from the fact that were fans of anthropomorphic animals in general, but from the great things people in this fandom do. We really don't want a negative image, do we?
This has been a very upsetting time for us. I am personally, very distraught with all these instances happening within our fandom, especially with one instance in particular that I was deeply appalled to hear about. If we could make a better impression than this, I would feel much better being part of this community. It would really mean a lot.
I'm sorry I had to write and post all this. I just feel really bothered by the state our fandom seems to be heading in. I appreciate the time you took to read this, and hope you will understand the importance of all this.
If you want to talk with me about this, send me a note, as I would prefer to talk about this in private. I feel too upset to talk about it anywhere where other people can see any conversations we have about this. Therefore, I am disabling comments for this journal.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

ANE 2017 Fursuit Photo Collage Is Up!
Posted 8 years agoI finally uploaded the Anthro New England 2017 Fursuit Photo Collage! (I have to say that this is the LARGEST collage I've done yet!)
The collage can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22476999/
Some fursuiters in this collage I already know, and will have their individual pic uploaded. If there is a pic here of you, or someone you know, that I haven't identified yet, please help me identify yourself, or the fursuiter(s) in any of these pics so I can upload the individual pic featuring said fursuiter(s). Individual photos will be uploaded into my "Scraps" folder.

My ANE 2017 Experience
Posted 8 years agoA bit overdue for a journal about this, but here it goes...
Last week, I spent the weekend at Anthro New England, a convention in only its third year, but already grown to be the 13th largest fur con worldwide at 1,384 attendees (representing 41 states across the US, and 7 international countries)!
As expected, I had a great time there. I got to see people I've met before, as well as people I've met for the first time, some of which I never expected to see at the con. I commissioned a few artists in the Dealer's Den and Artist's Alley. I participated in a sketch trade panel on Sunday afternoon, doing art for other attendees there, and receiving art from attendees at this panel. I also went to the dances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
In addition, I volunteered a good amount of time at the convention, roughly 10 hours total, setting up the video game room on Thursday night, and volunteering at the board game room on Friday and Saturday. While many don't come to volunteer, I volunteer at the con for more than one reason. Sometimes, a convention can be understaffed. They may need more people helping out at the con. Secondly, I don't want to spoil myself too much. As grateful as I am that we get to have an enjoyable weekend off from our usual lives for this convention, con staff and volunteers put their time into making this convention great for all of us, and I want to contribute to the con by making everyone's weekend as great as possible. ANE wouldn't be the successful convention it is without its staff and volunteers. That's why I volunteer. I want to help out in any way I can to make ANE a great convention.
Lastly, I took pics at the con. I have a fursuit photo collage put together, along with individual photos of fursuits I'm able to identify, that I'll post on Wednesday. Watch for a journal on that soon.
I want to thank everyone who made this convention another success. I am also very proud to help out at ANE. The staff and volunteers make a great team together. This convention has a bright future ahead of itself, and I'm looking forward to ANE 2018, and all future ANE's beyond that!

I want to thank everyone who made this convention another success. I am also very proud to help out at ANE. The staff and volunteers make a great team together. This convention has a bright future ahead of itself, and I'm looking forward to ANE 2018, and all future ANE's beyond that!
Anthro New England 2017 + Updates
Posted 8 years agoHey there, everyone! I thought I would share some updates.
The Boston-area fur con, Anthro New England will be happening this upcoming weekend in Cambridge, MA. I am really excited for ANE weekend, and look forward to seeing many great people there again.
I haven't submitted new artwork in a while, if you haven't noticed by now. The reason why is because I am currently working on a special project. So far, despite a few delays and more time consumed while working on this than predicted, it is coming along great! I am now half way through completing this project. I look forward to finally finishing this, not just to say "YAY! I finally finished this project! Now, I can move on!", but to finally share this project here, as well as other sites and places. I believe people will be pleased with it once I have everything ready.
Anyway, I just thought I would post these updates and let everyone know what I've been up to, and what's ahead. Thanks to everyone for your understanding! To those attending ANE next weekend, I wish you all a safe and fun weekend there. Feel free to say 'Hi', if you see me!

Regarding the upcoming 2017...
Posted 8 years agoAs you all know, 2016 is coming to a close. 2017 will begin, and we'll all wish each other a happy new year, like we did previous years. The question here is, How will we know 2017 will be a great year?
When 2016 arrived, we all wished each other a happy new year. To many, it wasn't really as happy overall, as we all had hoped for. A lot of people are waiting for 2017 to arrive, only because they think it'll put an end to the coming of such atrocities. Throughout 2016, we had people divide each other because of politics, discrimination against other groups, and even in less serious issues like sports rivalries, drama within certain fandoms (like the shenanigans that happened in the Ghostbusters fandom), drama towards other fandoms, etc. We also had the Pulse Nightclub massacre, acts of terror in Europe, many people dying, whether they'd be celebrities, or people we knew personally, and several other awful things that had happened.
Back to the question I asked earlier, How will we know that 2017 will be a great year? The only way to find out is to live through the year. I'm not saying 2017 will be a bad year. I'm not making judgment on the upcoming year, because I won't know what it'll be like until we go through it. (I have predictions on what 2017 will bring, both for myself, and for everyone else, that I could post here, but I just want to stay on this topic about why its up to us to make 2017 a great year.) My point is, a new year does not automatically mean a better year. It would be naive to believe everything will get better on its own once a new year begins.
I want 2017 to be a great year just as much as everyone else wants it to be. However, if you want 2017 to become a better year, it's up to US to make 2017 a better year. 2017 isn't going to define itself. WE will define 2017. We CAN make this a better year. I don't expect 2017 to be perfect, but coming together and helping each other, as well as helping ourselves, doing things to make this year better, instead of waiting for things to get better on their own, or just asking for stuff that you want, or saying "This needs to get better", without doing anything to help it become better, will make 2017 a great year.
For 2017 and the years beyond, I not only wish everyone a happy new year, but I also urge people to MAKE these years happy!

1st & Main (New Animated Series Featuring Furry Characters)
Posted 8 years agoI actually now have a better appreciation for Starbucks (and I'm a Dunkin' fan, too)! Starbucks just launched an animated series starring furry characters. It's called 1st & Main. It's a recently launched series of episodes, over a minute to a minute and a half long, starring furry characters as Starbucks employees and customers. Three writers of The Simpsons were involved in this! (And, since this furry fandom, after all, I thought I'd share this.)

Regarding the Presidential Election (PLEASE READ!)
Posted 9 years agoNormally, I wouldn't post anything related to politics here, usually because I don't want to risk sparking drama or anything. However, this would be an exception. It's not the usual "Vote for the one I'm supporting because blah, blah, blah..." type of post. Instead, it's different from that.
As you all already know, Election Day is coming. I understand a lot of people are not too happy about the two major candidates running for office (and quite frankly, I, for one, don't think one of these two particular candidates would be anywhere near appropriate for the job). However, it is still very important to go out and vote. If you are a legal US citizen, are 18 years or more old, and are registered to vote, please vote. Let your voice be heard. I'm not here to tell you who to vote for. I'm here to tell you to let your voice be heard. The outcome of the election will be determined by the CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. That could mean YOU.
Another thing I want to bring up is that, regardless of who becomes elected, even if it's the candidate you voted for, you shouldn't rely completely on the government to make or keep everything in our country great. There are things we, as citizens of this country, can do to make it better if we have to. This nation isn't just what our president makes of it. It's what we, the citizens of this country, make of it, too. JFK once said "Ask NOT what your country can do for you. Ask what YOU can do for your country". And he's completely right!
Lastly, as I stated earlier, I normally don't post things related to politics here, due to the possibility of starting arguments. I have never, I repeat, NEVER seen a political debate so heated, or a nation so divided, all because of a presidential election. I've seen people on social media block other people because of how they present their political views. That really shouldn't be happening. People shouldn't let politics end friendships like that. Instead of fighting against each other, we should really come together and "Make America Great Again" ourselves. This is OUR country. Whining about the state of our country isn't going to make it better. It's up to US to make it better if we have to.

Anthrocon 2016 From The Wildcat's Perspective
Posted 9 years agoIt's been a week since I was in Pittsburgh for the world's largest convention for anthropomorphic animal enthusiasts, and now that I have the time to write about my experience at AC, here we go!
I left home early on Wednesday morning. I got to the airport at around 6AM, and flew out of Boston a few minutes before 9. I arrived at the Pittsburgh Airport a few minutes before the scheduled arrival time.
kazee took me and
danruk to the city of Pittsburgh. I went to volunteer for the con, stuffing con bags for a few hours, before heading over to the Doubletree, where my roommate,
anthrocoon was.
I attended panels such as the "To Absent Friends" panel on Thursday evening, where I shared prints of my tribute art to the late
jbadger (Pic can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20178614/ ), the Zootopia fan panel, two of Tracy Butler's panels (the Q&A and the live drawing panel), and Joe Strike's panel. I also went to the Buca Di Beppo meet on Thursday evening, the AC dance parties, Uncle Kage's Story Hour, and saw the Fursuit Parade. (I have to say, I knew that Fursuit Parade was going to be long, but YIKES! Over an hour long!!! It was still very fun to watch, though. It was the best one I've ever seen! It was especially fun with the band playing!)
I got to commission a few artists, including
shenanigan,
cooner,
marcimcadam,
pacopanda,
toonfx, and
kelvinthelion. All commissions came out great! In addition, I got Lackadaisy Volume II signed by Tracy Butler when I got to meet her!
As for volunteer work, along with stuffing con bags, I also helped out at registration and the Masquerade. I earned a free t-shirt for the amount of volunteer time I've done.
I left Pittsburgh the Monday after the convention ended. I got back home in time to pick up a quick dinner and see the Fourth of July fireworks back here in Waltham.
It was another great con. I want to thank everyone who made this a great weekend, the AC staff, the volunteers, attendees who I got to meet, etc. I'm already saving up for next year. I'm looking forward to next year's AC, especially with the theme it'll have! (I'm gonna be quite busy submission-blasting the conbook! LOL)
To everyone who went, I hope you all had a safe and wonderful vacation out in Pittsburgh!

RIO!!! Uhhh...Whoops! I mean ANTHROCON 2016!!!
Posted 9 years agoLeaving really early tomorrow morning to catch a plane to Pittsburgh. I'll be staying at the Doubletree with
anthrocoon from Wednesday evening to Monday morning. On Monday afternoon, I leave Pittsburgh for home.
This will be my 5th time going. My first for times going were from 2011-2014. I skipped 2015 due to a credit card debt I wanted to pay off.
For all those going, have a safe and wonderful weekend at AC!

Will be at Fur Xoticon, but for one day only
Posted 9 years agoI'll be at Fur Xoticon, but I'll be there for Friday only. I'm taking a Peter Pan bus from Framingham to Springfield, and then a PVTA bus up to West Springfield. I'll be at the con at around noon-ish. I'll be leaving the con at around 8 or 8:30 at night.
To those going, see you there!

Possibly expanding to other sites
Posted 9 years agoI have been thinking about this for a while. I had thoughts on expanding to other sites and whatnot, to showcase my art. The recent downtime of FA, or any other downtimes, have no association with my idea on expanding to other sites. I also currently do not plan to leave FA anytime soon. FA has been my primary site on where I operate. However, because of the recent downtime, I'm thinking this might be an appropriate time to post links to sites on where else you could find me, as well as look for input on other sites to recommend.
OTHER SITES TO FIND ME ON:
Weasyl - http://www.weasyl.com/~CyanGlaciertooth (I'm not as active there as I am on here, but I do go to that site roughly 3 times daily to look at notifications and other people's art.)
Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/PolarWildcatStudios
Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/PaWS_Arts (Mainly to showcase my art) and http://www.twitter.com/polarwildcat (For more of that social, personal, "I have a photo of something I want to share with the world" kind of crap.)
OTHER SITES I'M THINKING OF EXPANDING TO:
Furry Network
Furrific
DeviantArt (Although, I had one in the past, I didn't use it as often.)
Instagram (I'm guilty of never having an account here.)
Tumblr (Another site I'm guilty of never using.)
I just want to hear details about each of these sites, as well as pros and cons. Also, keep in mind, recommending a site doesn't guarantee I'll use it often. I might just play the guinea pig on any of these sites before letting you all know where to find me on them.

Anyone offering rides to AC?
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone.
Is there anyone offering rides to and from Anthrocon? I will be willing to pay for gas and other necessities.

Another Year Closer To My Grave...

Zootopian Victory
Posted 9 years agoLast week, I went to see the movie, Zootopia. Ever since I first learned about this film two years ago, I immediately looked forward to its release. I, along with many other furs was waiting for this movie to come out. I knew I was going to be a fan of this movie when it was to come out. I also knew, with Disney making this movie, it was going to be a hit. However, this movie went above and beyond what we all expected. The movie itself, from the animation, to the plot, to the optimism, to the surprises and suspense, to the inspirational message about "Anyone can be anything", made this an epically incredible movie! I came out of the theater with a really big smile that stayed with me through the rest of the night! Other furs agree that it's really spectacular, but it goes beyond that. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 99% rating, with 145 of 147 reviews being positive! Holy cow! Also, in its first weekend, Zootopia generated over $73M at the box office, exceeding Frozen, and Frozen was a big hit! This movie is incredibly outstanding! It was really worth the $17 I paid to see the film, and definitely worth the wait, furry or not!
I drew this pic to express my gratitude and victorious joy for Zootopia. To Byron Howard, Rich Moore, and the rest of the Z-crew, I give you all my support from the bottom of my heart! Anyone can truly be anything, including winners like you!
