TL:DR I am fine, just nowhere near a place where I can work. I have a grand support system and will be back in full force in may.

This didn't turn out the way I wanted.

I was slated to provide location sound on a feature length movie in the woods. a little outside my usual wheelhouse but it was a project I was very fond of and the pay seemed good. So I signed on.

Ten days later, they laid me off.
The production turned out to be way more than I or the rest of the sound team were ready for and we needed more staff. we were also out in the freezing rain every day with no heaters, very little shelter, and no warm food for most of the shoot.

by the 8th day, the producer asked me if I was willing to work for free due to budget cuts. I couldn't feasibly justify that, so I have left the set. Unfortunately because my flight is locked in until may, I am stuck couch surfing with generous friends while I nurse a cold and find a way to make up for thousands in lost wages.

It's not ideal, but I want it to be known the crew were nothing but respectful, friendly, and I'd be glad to work with them another time. assuming the check clears.

When I get home I may want to do a stream for voice requests for others to help make up for the lost money. I dunno if anyone would be interested in such a thing, but I've never done stream requests before like that. I wouldn't know where to begin.

I've been taking time to think about all this, trying (and failing) to find a therapist. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere or stopping anytime soon. I love what I do, I'm just doing a lot of it elsewhere at the moment. New exciting things will be coming soon.

but something happened tonight. I was recently reintroduced to an artist I loved who gave up making art because it no longer make them happy. they felt like the only validation they could have was through the fleeting satisfaction of the people who followed them.

It's made me think of my own works.

Creativity, both SFW and NSFW, has been an unceasing companion of mine for as long as I have been alive. I told my parents stories when the rest of the world was hundreds of miles away. I poured over ideas and art. It even helped me finally come to terms with who I am. Why do some of us feel compelled to write? To find context to the neurons, that keep us up till the wee hours, and that compel to share it far and wide? Is it because we want to find understanding of the world around us? does it give us a way to process unnamable emotion? A wise man once said that a shared experience is the closest, most effective form of communication. Telling these stories, exploring this art is a way to distill and interpret those experiences in a way that, hopefully, someone else may connect with as well. When it's come to my ideas, I've always struggled with it wanting to be bigger, better, more interesting beyond just the au courant sexy. Not because I was chasing some algorithm, but because I always found the things I was most fascinated with had much to sink my teeth into. But, in many ways, I've been lucky to not require my art to validate me. I have many friends. loved ones. Parents who cherish critical thinking and frequently discuss about both my creativity, and finding a way to make a living with it. they're very supportive (rare I know). It breaks my heart to see artists, writers and performers who have an unhealthy or dissatisfying dynamic with their work. I see it all the time. and it's hard to convince them that their work is valid, that their work has validated my own attempts and spurned me on. I have a series on youtube called 'The Tip of The Triangle.' It... initially started as 'what if twilight zone but a little more titillating', but now is evolving into deconstructing my complicated feelings about creativity.

I dunno who it's for. Perhaps it's just for me.

My point is... Creativity doesn't HAVE to have a purpose. but it gave me one I cherish. I create to share my experiences through my curious wobbly lens. To see others pass it through theirs, I know I did my job right.

Because it meant I spoke to them, and they heard me.

To the artist who spurned this thought. I'm sorry your art did not bring you the joy and happiness it has brought me. I'm sorry that the sacrifices didn't feel worth it. Wherever you are, know your work left ripples in my life. and it's reaffirmed my love for what I do.

Despite everything, I love to create.

After much consideration and discussions with people in the hypnosis and BDSM community. I've decided to take the artwork of "Should I get Sleepy" down to make revisions.

It was expressed that my words were too broad and didn't thoroughly cover safety measures and precautions enough and I'd rather it not exist than be a misguided source of information.

We will be revising the writing and pages and reupload soon.

I've been a tad more active, but I wanted to give an update on how things are going.

While the house situation is resolved, I had to send in my laptop in for repairs which cost me almost 1000 dollars. It's expensive because my computer is meant for sound editing as much as my desktop and It's not easy to replace (I literally had to order another motherboard to get it sent in.)

So regrettably all of my scripts are on my laptop so It'll have to wait.

But in other news, I'm collaborating more with  ravensflock and  serathin for a little special something to show we mean business. I'm hopeful you'll enjoy it.


Lastly I've been trying to find other means to acquire funding for my life. As my day job has met extremely disruptive elements with the advent of AI, and multiple strikes, Work has been thin. I have already lost my health care and other financially stable aspects of my life I used to take advantage of a decade ago.

So I'd like to try and offer other means of you being able to enjoy my content more frequently but as it stands, My audio doesn't seem to be attracting an audience either. But what if I started offering little short bouts of dominant voice giving you pleasant affirmations (good boy, good girl, good toy, etc.)? would that be something people might want to pay a few dollars for?

Hello! I have good news for once.

First. My home has been repaired. and the Funding for Meditation with Krystal featuring the real actress of Krystal Estelle Ellis has been fully funded. any extra money you decide to throw at this project will be going to  yawg for artwork. As I promised I would be doing this project at cost. I've been in good spirits. motivating myself to do more work and get things really moving.

I have currently been suspended from twitter.

It was done without warning or notification, and I am unsure when I will be able to get it back (or IF) but this is a severe blow to my ability to work for animators.

Much of my income is channeled through my ability to contact animators, offer my services, and be readily available on all platforms. If I have to migrate to a new account, I will essentially be starting over from scratch with a much less visible platform.

Ironic this happens at the tail end of my house repairs. it doesn't seem to let up, does it?

This year has been such a journey.

I started Cognizant Christmas of last year. When Jack Du Roi heard me sleepily insisting that I was going to host Hypnovember for myself out of frustration for missing it in 2021. He suggested the idea of a multistage story that everyone could enjoy. What started as a 30 chapter singular event turned into 5 simultaneous arcs, and the birth of the Masterminds.

It took months. many of which was juggling a massive audio project, my career, and dozens of artists who came and went, some understandably not getting what I was trying to accomplish.
And here we are. 66 pieces of art, with some more on the way across 30 artists and 10 talented writers. And an overwhelmingly successful RP server on discord that everyone seems to love.

I'm speechless to be honest.

It wasn't flawless. I made plenty of mistakes, missteps, and I did let my focus on this affect my mental and physical well being. I wanted to do this right. Because the last time I tried doing something big, I messed up from either lack of foresight or lack of preparation.

This was the most ambitious thing I've ever done as Darkwitt, at least publicly. But now? I look forward to what's next. I'm not sure how many of you are invested in what I am doing with my writing, or my audio. I have ideas. but I want to hear your thoughts about what you'd like to see from me. There are many things mulling over that I'd like to tackle:

1. Developing the Facilitator story more, now that people seem to be invested in hearing about it. I have a LOT of interesting ideas with more twists and turns than what I did with Cognizant.
2. The Tip of the Triangle. I want to continue that, since Hypnovember took all of my resources and energy this year, I was too afraid to work on it.
3. Potentially a Patreon? I've been afraid to start one because my busy schedule means I have many periods of disappearing to focus on my day job. but perhaps I could be more consistent with my work this way if I had a budget I could rely on? The only reason I was able to afford Hypnovember was due to the extremely generous assistance of some colleagues and by dipping into my savings, which I admit put me in hot water when I had a financial crisis in the middle of the year that I could not have predicted (and almost cancelled the whole thing).
4. More Audio ASMR. I have Ideas to collaborate with Estelle Ellis (the Voice of Krystal from Starfox), work on audios for ladies seducing and giving people relaxing things. Maybe reprising as Vincent or Jadir. Or maybe introduce more characters. One person even suggested a series about the Honeycreeper.
5. Converting the Facilitator story into a full Audio Drama. This is likely not going to happen as a straight up drama about darkwitt and all of these stories are likely the last thing anyone would want compared to everything else I can provide.
6. Evolving the Cognizant Server. Quess volunteered the idea to me merely days before the whole event went down and now I can't imagine it having been this successful without it. I want to create consistent events and make Cognizant a haven for Hypnosis enthusiasts to engage in stories and ideas for this setting.

One thing is for sure. Hypnovember was expensive. time consuming, and exhausting physically and emotionally to maintain. I will not be hosting it again anytime soon.

Much of what I do for the fandom beyond the content I commission is my audio work.

you might have heard my sound design work I've done for  meesh  fuzzamorous  igiveyoulemons  brolaren and  Tabuley

Part of my showcase for my sound work is to reference e621, because there isn't a system set up for videos here. My name was removed from the tags on e621, which means my contributions to these projects are now hard to find.

Their argument is that E621 is committed to remaining as a visual medium, and that sound designers should be placed in the description instead.

I don't pretend to have the same level of talent as the artist whom I work for. But much of my visibility as a sound designer for NSFW works is dependent on sites like e621 to quickly reference what I do.

It's ultimately a nuance in tagging and identification, but it implies that people who provide audio and voice acting to animations to bring an extra level of quality should not be acknowledged for their work. I believe they are as much artists contributing to the piece as the animators themselves. and you'd be hard pressed to find an animator that disagrees.

I'm not even sure what to do here. I know a dozen sound designers who do work for NSFW who cannot be credited for their work in a way that's as accessible as the rest of the site. I cannot even refer to all my sound works here easily. People who follow me on FA don't even know I have a Youtube for some of my content.

This year I'm participating in a massive undertaking: I'm directing a series, I'm handling sound design commissions from two separate career paths, and I am trying to develop a large collaboration for the end of this year. Yes. I started working on this collaboration as early as last christmas.

the point I am making is sometimes I might need to derail a bit for myself because
A. this directing project is demanding a LOT of my time, energy, and financial investment.
B. while I love my job, I try to juggle personal projects to mitigate burnout.
C. I also would like to force myself to enjoy some free time.

among the things I want to do this year:
1. A 6 episode SFW audio drama with a 30 person cast.
2. more episodes of Tip of the Triangle
3. A Miss Vaim audio experience.
4. Redesign my drones.
5. HYPNOVEMBER
6. Develop VR content, a VR avatar and start making VRASMR as Darkwitt. (I now have a Valve index, body trackers and facial tracker, I am dedicated to doing this)
7. Experiment with Binaural ASMR. (I have a 3Dio microphone now).
8. Get hired by a major studio for a show I've been eying for three seasons.

So if I am quiet, or not posting fast enough, or otherwise. Understand it's likely because I have 4 other pies in the oven and might need to get my shoulder tapped on as I attempt to transcend my workflow capacity with varying degrees of success.

I have lost my C: drive as of August 27th. My work PC has been in the shop for a while now and it has prevented me from doing any work of any kind. I do not know when I will be back up and running.

I've already lost 2 contracts because of it. I have Tip of the Triangle only really needing two or three scenes left to design, but due to work being so backed up, I need to focus on that for a little longer. I'll try to post a preview to make it up to you all.


This is also a bit of a harrowing time for me because I am in the works of developing a Non-Darkwitt related Audio Drama Kickstarter. I am nervous because I have two studios willing to work as my support team and I have little to no experience advertising myself or convincing people of my capabilities.

I'd like to be a hypnotist for those who cannot afford me. I've never been a fan of hypnosis files as they are too impersonal and easy to lose control of. But recently many have been hoping I would expand.

So the question is, what would you like my hypnosis themes to be about? I could do a hypnosis session for just about anything. I only have a few stipulations:

1. Recreational use only. No therapy, no addressing serious conditions. This is all meant for relaxing play and stress relief.
2. No Posthypnotic triggers. If you do want a trigger, Contact me for a session.
3. No Curse files. these are typically files that throw around words like 'permanent.' which I will not do.

Keep the ideas simple and straightforward, and I'll make something in the near future. Perhaps even today.

Audio dramas are a craft I’ve kept to myself.

I make it a point to separate my professional life with what I do here. But my love for what I post here made me acknowledge how under utilized crafts like that of  caudle are. I do enjoy his work immensely. Which is why I would like to try my hand at this myself.

But I worry about ostracizing the small group of people who enjoy.

I would like to try my hand at funding my projects in some way. It’s not my main job. But my career income is earned through time and effort. And I do not desire to skimp on either here.

My experience: I have a master’s degree in sound design, and by trade, I’ve sound designed dozens of shirts, feature length movies, and audio dramas. I run pro tools and have my own recording studio and access to a foley stage.

When I make these. I typically use my own foley, my own voice work. And usually I appropriate a little music from Creative Commons resources.

My options are limited to ensure you all enjoy this without locking you behind a paywall.

Here is what I have found:

1. Patreon. I do not like this platform generally. It’s great for production companies or others, but my career DOES NOT allow me to guarantee regular releases. I’m not opposed to answering to my patrons. But not if it hampers my creativity.

2. Commissions. Generally. I know I won’t get these. Who would pay for an audio drama for such specific things they do not realize they want? I’ve seen some voice actors do stellar work this way. But I may wish to retain creative freedom here.

3. Ko fi. Aka buy me coffee. A tip jar. I have less of an issue with this, but again. I likely do not have any Means to encourage it, and it will likely go forgotten.

4. High quality purchases. I could release my content for free, and to offer a means to compliment my work. I offer a ‘pay what you want’ tip jar to give access to higher quality versions of my audio. I do not know how to implement this.

I am unsure what I could do to make this easy and accessible to you all.

Hello everyone.
