"After waiting several months to see if I was applicable for the Service Dog program, I was called to visit the facility and spend a day on walkabout with Laddie, the program's Ambassador dog.
Living with a neurological disorder that impairs my mobility, I struggle with things most people take for granted: the ability to climb and descend stairs without fear of falling, the ability to take walks and hike--living an active lifestyle.
Walking a day with Laddie was amazing. I was able to go up and down stairs with a safe, reliable brace. He was able to sense when I needed to sit, and guided me to a bench. Laddie adjusted to my stride and was able to keep pace with me--and slow me down when I got too ambitious.
For a little while, I was able to walk with confidence. It was amazing. Both the director of the program, and my friend that came to the meeting, noted the difference.
Help me reclaim that independence. "

Hands, feet, wings, poses, backgrounds, composition, perspective, scenes, interaction... THE LIST GOES ON.

Maybe an hour to two? It's broken up into going through submissions and stuff like that.
13. Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
It depends on my state of being awake but it varies from medium-fast to ARE YOU ACTUALLY A TYPING SNAIL.
14. What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
I'm not annoyed by much, really, and people don't ask a lot of me that I'm annoyed to answer so.
I guess the most annoying thing is off-FA when people ask if I am THAT CERTAIN PERSON because I have a character called Ceylon whose name I often go by :| STOP IT. REALLY. IT'S ALMOST PAINFUL.
15. What is the most annoying/offending comment you've received?
I haven't really recieved any offending comments? All of them have been pretty helpful to me. I am however regularly horrified by the number of misogynistic/transphobic/biphobic/assholish comments posted around FA because apparently certain things like to draw the twatbags out of the woodwork. Then I want to punch things. A lot.
16. What/who inspires you?
Just being able to create inspires me. I see a bunch of things and feel all I WANT TO DO THAT TOO. So I do. And it always feels awesome to make a new thing and have it come to life and then see people enjoy it.
I also like a challenge.
17. Everyone has considered leaving FA once or twice. Have you? Why?
A fair few times in the past because there are a lot of aspects about this place that are ATROCIOUS. Seriously. This site has problems and pretending they don't exist is kinda stupid. But it's still got some good folk and friends here so I stay around and weather out thebad in the hope that things will improve.

Legitimately, utterly, inconsolably furious with some behaviour I've seen on here lately and I just want to set fire to a whole bunch of people for what they're doing/saying/encouraging.
All I can say is my blocklist is now fat and happy and I will never have to deal with those fucking moronic dipshits.

Posted 12 years agoif you're gonna be making quadrupeds (including six-limbed critters who locomote on four legs) of any sort, for the love of all things squeaky, PLEASE LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT GODDAMN FUNCTIONAL LIMB MORPHOLOGY*.
I have a tutorial in the works for this which will explain it better, but the basic idea is;
ALL OF THE JOINTS WILL MORE OR LESS LINE UP EVENLY.
For example, elbows and knees will be on the same line/pretty close to it.
Wrists and ankles will also be in a similar line.
For ungulates, the knuckles will line up.
I have drawn examples for horses, cows, bears, monkeys, dogs, cats, monitors, rhinos, elephants and hyenas.
Nothing winds me up more when I see badly laid-out critters in an otherwise nicely put together image. I have doodled some common examples, too.
The reason I say this is because THERE IS A REASON LIMBS LINE UP LIKE THAT. It helps make movement efficient and less energy-expensive. There's a whole more sciencey garble in there but I'm too blegh today to type it all out. I'll put it in a ref sheet if I can find it.
*If you're making something odd-looking or deliberately off-kilter, you can kinda disregard this but most vertebrates do follow this basic idea.

THEREFORE I will be offering Hekla adoptables! Hekla are my own closed species so therefore I don't make adopts out of them at all often, mostly because they mean a lot to me and I love them to bits. HOWEVER my best friend needs the money so I am gonna do what I can.

Posted 12 years agoit's because my nanna has just had to be taken to the medical assessment unit at christie's because the cellulitis in her legs is getting worse and the antibiotics aren't working quick enough.
she's undergoing chemo for breast cancer and cellulitis is terrible in fit, healthy people, so it's extra worrying with her.
she might even have to stay overnight which will be sad because she's not been in hospital that long since she had her boob taken off.

State of the Burd
Posted 12 years agoBasically a couple of weeks ago-ish my nana was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately it was in just one breast and it doesn't seem to be an aggressive type. She's going into surgery tomorrow to have her boob off so we're all worried even more now.
So I have just been a ball of anxiety and nerves and fuck-everything.
On top of this I have just been feeling very "eh" in regards to my art and have been trying to shift that with little success.
I feel like everything I draw is tired, cliche and lacking all the flash and show that everyone elses art has. No gore, no porn, no unusual shenanigans. Just very boring as fuck stuff.
Not that I mind. It's just... wierd. When you have these ideas in your head but never get around to drawing them and then when you realise you haven't drawn them you're just "meh" about it rather than "I MUST DRAW IT RIGHT NOW" then.
Summed up I am a bag of anxiety, nerves, depression and self-hate at the moment and am struggling to untangle that mess whilst being there for people who need me.
So I have just been a ball of anxiety and nerves and fuck-everything.
On top of this I have just been feeling very "eh" in regards to my art and have been trying to shift that with little success.

This isn't "petty drama" going on.
This is the site admins actively targeting some people, letting others off and bullshitting on the rules.
I'm sorry but you cannot run a site fairly when you yourself are incapable of getting over your petty vendettas or friendships.
